I think music is universal. When you listen to someone sing.. you can tmake out their nationality.. unless... you see the name of the singer and are actually bothered to look that up... Music related to soul.. and therefore it has no religious affliation whatever. I think both the countries have greatest singers.. I believe the underdogs are doing a pretty good job. Biggies are a complete flop. No where near their Pak Counterparts.

As a Pakistani, I dont think any1 has a right to criticize Coke Studio India, as of course it will promote THEIR culture & music..& rightly so...there's no comparison as each needs to be appreciated in its own context! BUT I also so feel proud that tho the world thinks India is ahead of Pakistan in arts & music, but Coke Studio Pakistan proved our artists talent as being at par if not better!! No 1 artist made it a success! Sadly our talent is overshadowed & undiscovered! Anyway good going! :)
@rockitmeena I like your comment but please note there is no comparison between the two. People look at bollywood and think thats Indian art. India has 30 official languages. It is a completely different scenario to Pakistan. There are thousands of underground singers who never make it to the top e.g. You will never see a Harynavi ragni in a bollywood movie but in Haryana there are many ragni singers. Same goes for other states. There no Bauls in Pakistan but Indian has thousands.
Hey I quite like this one. As a Pakistani, I have been watching CS since Season 1 and I don't want to remind you guys that CS in our nation has come a long way in terms of production quality over the past 4 years. For starters this is actually pretty solid from India. I like this song.
Its sad to see such a performance go into waste due to rift between Pakistan and India. Its not about who is producing better talent. It should be acknowledged that Pakistan's version of Coke Studio has been successful due to the variety of its music and the ability of its makers to take risk by trusting the folk talent. Any experiment done by Indian musician in Coke Studio will go to waste just because the music in India is Commercial and you can't bring magic and soul with commercialism.. Ciao

I totally agree. CS Pakistan is far better (musically) than CS India. Singers are good from both sides. Greatest performance so far is Harshdeep's "HOO". and the most bakwas performance was Tochi Raina's Yaar basainda.

I think music is universal. When you listen to someone sing.. you can tmake out their nationality.. unless... you see the name of the singer and are actually bothered to look that up... Music related to soul.. and therefore it has no religious affliation whatever. I think both the countries have greatest singers.. I am indian and my best friend is a Pakistani.. we listen to this together..

Well, I don't judge music as Indian or Pakistani, first of all. Ask "music" first whether it wants to be categorized as such?
Secondly, I have been closely watching Coke Studio both in India and Pak. I was just wondering whether stalwarts like Sunidhi, KK, and the rest should be given benefit of doubt at all? I believe the underdogs are doing a pretty good job. Biggies are a complete flop. No where near their Pak Counterparts.

As a Pakistani, I dont think any1 has a right to criticize Coke Studio India, as of course it will promote THEIR culture & music..& rightly so...there's no comparison as each needs to be appreciated in its own context! BUT I also so feel proud that tho the world thinks India is ahead of Pakistan in arts & music, but Coke Studio Pakistan proved our artists talent as being at par if not better!! No 1 artist made it a success! Sadly our talent is overshadowed & undiscovered! Anyway good going! :)

@rockitmeena I like your comment but please note there is no comparison between the two. People look at bollywood and think thats Indian art. India has 30 official languages. It is a completely different scenario to Pakistan. There are thousands of underground singers who never make it to the top e.g. You will never see a Harynavi ragni in a bollywood movie but in Haryana there are many ragni singers. Same goes for other states. There no Bauls in Pakistan but Indian has thousands.

Its sad to see such a performance go into waste due to rift between Pakistan and India. Its not about who is producing better talent. It should be acknowledged that Pakistan's version of Coke Studio has been successful due to the variety of its music and the ability of its makers to take risk by trusting the folk talent. Any experiment done by Indian musician in Coke Studio will go to waste just because the music in India is Commercial and you can't bring magic and soul with commercialism.. Ciao

I have just one simple issue with the Indian version of CS. Please explore the real INDIA. Leave aside all this commercial stuff and focus on the folk. 1965-------------Pakistan won- as india attacked Pakistan but failed to get any land
1971-------------Bangladeshis won and Pakistan lost. India got nothing out of it.
1999------------Pakistan won - We got the highest peak in Kargil, its called "Tiger Hill" :)

Music distortion is very monotonous specially of guitar and it is blend of different KALAMS tunes. Which I hope she acknowledge and accepts and over all it was a a very good effort. I hope she comes and sing on Cs Pak I bet she will get polished more with Pak CS house. Thank God some one has tried to break the shell of Indian conventional and commercial singing. We all Indian and Pakistani need break away from that sort of music.

Music distortion is very monotonous specially of guitar and it is blend of different KALAMS tunes. Which I hope she acknowledge and accepts and over all it was a a very good effort. I hope she comes and sing on Cs Pak I bet she will get polished more with Pak CS house. Thank God some one has tried to break the shell of Indian conventional and commercial singing. We all Indian and Pakistani need break away from that sort of music.

one thing indian are the biggest cheater's of the world they donot have enough creativity mind to make some awosome work now they are jealous badly from pakistan and want to do also the same thing to say the world that we are better..
very bad indian attitude .. that's why partition was taken place and mind the kalma which she was singng is of bhullay shah a name of the muslim history ...
and origine from pakistan punjab....

dis is sufi ,which is same for india n pakistan....various sufi artists are in pakistani and indian punjab which sing same type...plz bro.s dont puke foolish arguments...just enjoy...btw punjabi songs are gonna rock the coke studio

what a beautiful singing no words to praise Harshdeep's vocals but alas while fusing they ruined the soul. No offense to any one please, it is purely on logic.

I totally agree. CS Pakistan is far better (musically) than CS India. Singers are good from both sides. Greatest performance so far is Harshdeep's "HOO". and the most bakwas performance was Tochi Raina's Yaar basainda.

@pakyaization ey buddy i saw you comment on cokestudioatmtv & i agree this munni & shiela stuff is ruining music lovers & insulting the music itself..being a pakistani i love indian music & there are fantastic musicians there .but the problem of coke studiomtv is that they have a jive ass music producer who dont know how to create magic..if they can somehow bring Ar rahman or atleast amit triviedi then it will be fantastic..what about pritam he copies songs..but the guy is a genius
