yeah my friend works at REI in Santa Monica and he says how cool it is to test out and play around with new outdoor/ indoor equipment for climbing. Its cool how REI doesn't have alot of strict rules like other companies.

I agree with all of the above and second the nice customers/members part. REI is the Toys R Us for adults.
