Wasn't Nerys Hughes lovely ?.... but she was a Taffy not a Liverpudlian .... ummm ! Not so sure about Liverpool girls (unless I needed to whip a set of wheels from someone's car)
As I kid I loved this programme just for the accents - as a kid growing up in NZ I didn't always know what they were saying - but was just fascinated by the Liverpool accent !
Polly James had the most strong Lancashire accent you could imagine ! She never sounded anything like a Scouse girl. The woman who played her mother(Sheila Fay) is a real Scouser. Don't tell me you couldn't tell the difference. Nerys Hughes , of course, is Welsh.
I remember this from the 70's i have never seen it on any of the cable or satellite channels it would be a fitting tribute to the excellent mollie sugden to see this again.

tvtestcard. I bought The Very Best of Scaffold and was disappointed that the mix of The LIver Birds was mono. Which CD did this stereo mix come from?

Script editor - Eric Idle, interesting.
Nerys Hughes- very very gorgeous in her young days. I remember being in love with her when I was 10 - 1978.

@AlanDMoore
I wish someone would do them with actual Liverpool girls in the main parts.
English actors simply sound ridiculous trying to be Scousers(meant?)
Nerys Hughes was alright as the wet, middleclass south Liverpool girl
