If I want power, I'd buy a '07 Z06 and put a LSX engine, Ysi-trim blower, big cam, supercharger, LG headers, etc. But if I want exclusivity, I'd go for a unique exotic car like a Lamborghini, Ferrari, Aston Martin, etc. Basically, it's a hobby for most people. I'm currently building my own car collection in my small garage. Hobby.

@goodfella949 the cars weigh over 3000lbs and even with AWD traction is an issue. Not even a Veyron could break 250mph in a Mile. It needs quite a long length of track and weighs 4000lbs and makes 900hp to the wheels. The Lambos hit close to 250mph in one mile and with 1500hp.

The only cars that are getting 250mph within a mile are making well over 1600hp. One such car is a turbo camaro with 20" rims. possibly used for the taller tire height that increases the gear ratio length

@renzzo666 Its not completely because of that..... the parachute helps decelerate MUCH faster and helps have a controllable deceleration because when you pull the chute, the car needs to still be at wide-open-throttle or else the car will violently get out of control from the force of the chute being tossed side to side as it takes in all the air.

Only when you feel the jerk of the chute being fully open and rapidly slowing the car down is when you can EASE onto the brakes.

@jumpthenoob There's a good chance that trying to stop from that speed could overheat the brakes, when that happens any moisture that has accumulated in the brake fluid will boil out of solution. Gas compresses, fluid doesn't (mostly), so you start using up pedal travel to compress the gas instead of the pistons in the brake calipers. In straight line racing it makes a lot more sense to just install a chute rather then install brake ducting because ducting increases drag more than you'd think.
