  • Collecting the insurance money?

  • Sa m'fait mal au coeur --'

  • Always sad to see a boat go down. I have always thought a system of inflatable air bladders in the bow and stern might at least keep the boat at the surface long enough to patch the hole and start pumping. A cylinder of CO2 could be located on top of the keel to keep weight low and centered. I'm sure I'm not the only person who has thought of this.

  • oh man what happened who left the seacocks open

  • hoe komt het dat dit is gebeurd???

  • that head sail tried to pull her out till the very last second, courageous little headsail!!!

  • Havent seen a great final plunge since the TITANIC

  • It's always sad when a boat sinks.

  • het was een mmoie boot

  • why are there no airbags on boats? If I would spend 10 million on a yacht like this one it would have a ring of airbags around the hull.

  • @MillyVanillification

You are right. This is an excellent idea.

Maybe a hole in the market.

    Who knows.

  • @MillyVanillification Let's start with safety belts!

  • @MillyVanillification

First seat belts - than helmets, airbags later ;)

  • most smaller sail boats have positive flotation or in other words big hunks of Styrofoam down in the bilge areas. Big boats could have this too, but it takes up a lot of storage space. The big boats have life-rafts instead. It was a shame seeing all that new gear going down.

  • @MillyVanillification because on a yacht, every inch of avilable space inside the hullis used for living and storage space. Besides that is what insurance is for.

  • @MillyVanillification Because storing enough airbags to keep a yacht afloat even whilst full of water is incredibly impractical and space consuming.

  • @DisruptiveMoose true that

  • @MillyVanillification because you cant built a Airbag thats big enough and strong enough to hold a boat. even not a boat with this size. you cant pump enough air into a Airbag to hold the boat. thats the problem.

  • @W4v3Rid3r The solution for this is foam core construction. The idea is for the hull itself to displace enough water to maintain boyancy even when flooding occurs. Not foolproof I'm sure, but it is the best thing that has been developed so far.

  • What went wrong, why did she sank??

  • Did it hit something? What caused it?

  • zou je nieuwe boot maar zijn

  • damn that had to be scary

  • Das tut weh wenn ich so was sehe, aber dem Eigner noch viel mehr.

    Sorry.

  • It was salvaged a week later.
