  • nice drum break. i loved the baseline split

  • mellophones:great job. can't slack off at the end and be heard on the B flat to c part around measure 50. i know it's supposed to be quiet, but not so that they can't hear you! my band has the same show. good job.

  • @birdman5050 well, when my band did this song, they TOLD us to dance during the song, soooo... dont hate on them!

  • My high school's doing this right now. Mello's = Win, so i want to hear them. AMAZING job, i wish every member of my band cared as much. buutt one thing for the mello's at 1:33 dude you guys laggedddd, that's the best part of the song^.-

  • were doing this for our show this year too and we end it with the same way we end our school song "eye of the tiger" which is pretty sweet!!

  • Great Job Queen City!!!

  • Man oh man. We did this song in our marching band show in 1975! Great job guys.

  • My band played this in our 09 show. We played a different version but what I heard is a lot of rushing. You guys gotta watch ur drum majors! Anyway it was a good performance, loved the dancing from the barritones, and an all around good job. 4 stars.

  • wow. my band did this song in our how in 2007. you guys should check it out. its the pearl pirate band. to go to it type in 2007 pearl pirate band state marching champions

  • :D six tubas! i play tuba and we only have four. but man thats some epic bass in that band XD

  • Also I'm the only low brass player aside from two tubas, and there are seventy people in the band.

  • This is my bands next show along with Open Up WIde and Handbags and Gladrags.

  • I love this song! It is so energetic! MIDDLE SCHOOL BAND (8TH-7TH) GOT FIRST PLACE AT MT. PLEASANT!!! GOT ALL 1'S!!!!!!

  • my high school did this in 03 with 'open up wide' and 'ad1928' great songs :)

  • im in a jazz band this year and we are in middle school too and people tell us that we play this song the best of all our songs and that they love this song but like our version better than any other version they heard before i really think that they should play the whole song a bit slower... :]

  • This is the right tempo for this song. The jazz band arrangement makes this song alot slower because its a modern rock tempo which is like 93 and the marching band arrangement of the song is like 144

  • i play this in jazz band this year, and i'm in middle school, but this sounds amazing with this marching band. :o

i just wish we can do contests outside of san antonio more, because down here there aren't many bands that can match up with us.

like the only band that beat us in a contest last year came from louisiana. haha.

  • This is my first year in marching band and we're playing this show too. I'm with that one guy: Bill Chase, the greatest trumpet player to ever live!!!!!

  • Good show! I saw all of it. Guard work looks to easy for them, dm looks kinda off, marching was okay, I thought yaw "jammed" too much, music was the best thing going for yaw, and on 2nd song yaw yaw slid into some key phrases, which I thought was pretty disapointing. I do have to say okay brass, great soloist, but woodwind section has it going on. Percussion pretty awesome, and pit are amazing too!!

  • I'm in the marching band and we are doing this song and Handbags And Gladrags and Open Up Wide.

R.I.P Bill Chase, best trumpet player ever lived

  • PIT! wooo!

WERE PLAYING THIS SONG TOO :p

    vibraphone <3

  • yeah our band is doing this show now and i thank you for putting this up its a good reference to see what it would sound and/or look like. the forms we use on the feild might be different though,in any case thank you.

  • WOW... SO AMAZING! GREAT JOB!

  • wow. this is a great band. the only bad about this song is that you slowed down a lot in the percussion solo. other than that, this is the best band by far playing chase!

  • We played this as our final piece this year, we didnt like the woodwind feat. either, but we turned it into a trumpet section feat.! it was pretty sick. decent sound for a small band!

  • I am a band dad who is sitting here in San Antonio Texas, the night before the band performs at the state championship 2 years after I filmed this clip, I gotta tell you that this is one of the most disciplined group of kids that I have seen in a long time. Check out thier show this year based on the Journeys of Jules Verne...wish us luck! THE BULLDOGS TAKE THE FIELD AT 4:00PM

With any luck we will be here till tomorrow night at 10, if we make the finals :)

  • our school did this set this last season om on the bass line and we did our split differently its about twice as long and gives you chills when you hear it lol and we only march 4 basses 2 snares and one tenor player but our band is huge, we rock..

  • Big sound for a small band... GOTTA LOVE THAT BRASS KICKING BIG BUTT ON THAT FIELD!!!! WTG high school.

  • Ahh the woodwind feature is cut out! its better with it. Were doing the same show, well used to, our season ended today =(

  • Our School is playing this too. The Arranging isn't as good as the original Chase tune, but it works. Good job cutting out that woodwind feature. I wish we would do it.

  • My high school's marching band is doing this show this year. I love it! Our drill is totally different from this, though, but yours is great!

  • i wish our band did shows like this

  • our band its doing this show this year but our percussion parts have been rewrotten to make them harder but its sounds really good compared to "wicked" which the show we did last year

  • My band is doing this song in our show this year too. wow- it looks like everyone is. our band has about 250 in it- which is very big for our high school. we only have 250 kids in each band...that means that 1 in ever 4 kids is in marching band at my school. anyways, we have alot more kids so we can do cooler stuff- but yours was pretty good.

  • umm..thanks for that comment?? our band did the best we could for the time...but now it is state..bigger year..better show! so thanks..

  • my band is also doing this show this year..

im the drill/dance team captain and im super excited to make up all of our routines!!!

  • wow. a lot of people are doing this show this coming year. well, my school's doing it too. i'm a freshman flautist that's ready for a challenge. unfortunately, i cant tell whether or not the flute part is hard. i hope it is. :]

  • the flute part is pretty easy. the beginning is at little hard, but its ok once you memorize it. And yea, there are a ton of people doing this show, we're doin it too lol

  • our band directer sang the words to this for us.....get it on in the morning now.....wow

  • we're doing this show this year too, but we're a whole lot bigger.....we have to do some wierd pose at the end of.....open up wide maybe.....you guys are pretty good

  • Yes my band is doing this for our upcoming season i am very excited for this will be my first show on top bass and it has some fun parts for the most part well hit me up for hint on the show for percussion thanx

  • eww...bass drums! come on guys clean that up...you guys fell apart after the drum feature, and the other two songs need some work...in response to trumpetmaster09, the other two songs to this show are called open up wide and handbags and gladrags...our band is doing this show this coming year and i am soooo excited!

  • Their whole show's only 3 mins. long? BTW the beginning before the battery solo was pretty good.
