WHOOPS! I see I accidently typed that this song doesn't appear in the Takarazuka version, which is probably where some of the confusion stems from. Silly me! Not only does this scene appear in Takarazuka, it's actually EXPANDED!

Yes, this scene appears in the Dutch, German and Hungarian productions, but is missing in all the other versions.

Not quite... The Austrian production NEVER HAD that scene to begin with. It was only added when the show premiered in Holland, but the Austrian revival never utilised it. Neither did the Takarazuka staging, but the omitted a lot of Rudolf's subplots in general, rendering his breakdown and suicide nonsensical.

Ok, so only this song does appear on the Vienna Production. But, what about 'Hass'? Does it also appear in other shows too?

Hass appears in EVERY version except Takarazuka.

THIS song appears in ever production except Vienna. Probably because the Austrian audience were well aware of the backstory, while people in other countries needed more exposition regarding Rudolf's inner turmoil.

By the way, this scene is historically inaccurate. Even if Rudolf did want to annex Hungary to himself, he never conspired with Hungarian nationalists.
