It's not true that George Harrison came in music history because of Lennon and McCartney.
When the The Quarrymen (origin Beatles) were established, Lennon played just on 4 strings banjo chords as opposed to Harrison who played the best of the whole Quarrymen.
Harrison learned Lennon how to play a guitar.
When the Beatles started Harrison was still playing lead guitar, McCartney bass and Lennon rhythm guitar.
Without Harrison the Beatles would never have been such a great success.

I'm jealous of a cheeseburger! I don't know jack shit about Beethoven or Chopin. That would require that I study music, play an instrument, went to college. NOPE. Didn't do any of those things. I talk shit about George Harrison cuz I really am forever envious of him. I haven't the brains or balls to admit it. But I gotta lotta time. I'm just 44 and someday I'll need to get a job. But until then, I basement dweller will just keep on proving I'm an ignorant assmunch!
@ArgentineExpel4Fraud I understand where you're coming from, but George was the best musician of them. The man could literally play anything he wanted. He sang a softer style than the others, but that doesn't translate to weak for me. His lyrics were some of their most moving. Now, overall John and Paul are better, but George was right there. Just my thoughts. Glad we can all share opinions respectfully.
@generalares - George Harrison's "Gently Weeps" lyrics:
"I don't know how you were DIVERTED, you were PERVERTED too,
I don't know how you were INVERTED...no one ALERTED you".
Now tell me the truth: do you REALLY think this the writing of the "Best" of the Beatles? If he were a English major in college...he'd have gotten an "F" for this HORRIFIC poetry.
@ArgentineExpel4Fraud Oh my bad. I forgot that one stanza completely shows a person's ability to write. Let's all look out how every single song that was written by John or Paul was Shakespeare. "Why don't we do it in the road, no one will be watching us, why don't we do it in the road?" "I want you, I want you so bad it's driving me mad. She's so heavy." "Honey pie." Damn George, you really dropped the having to compete with those songs.
@ArgentineExpel4Fraud Now John and Paul wrote things that were completely amazing obviously. But when you're in a bad with those two you're not going to be seen as the genius, just doesn't happen.
I can do nothing but agree with you. Your analysis is absolutely correct. I'd only add that the quality of their lyrics is astounding. Take The fool on the hill, for instance, or Eleonor Rigby or the ironic rhyming facility of Rocky Rackoon,or any other valuable song at your choice. I'm pretty sure that both John and Paul (and, to a minor extent, George) read good books and took the best out of them. Were it not so, the literary nuances of their songs would be mysterious.
george harrison is one of the few singers who can still have a great singing voice when he sings live, so much character to his voice. hard to believe he wouldve been 68 now. one of the hardest things in life is to see people who bring us joy age and fade. i like to think there is a place somwhere where we can one day be together forever, enjoy each others talent eternally, and have sex with any woman we want.
If I showed this to my friends, after they see him and go Eurgh (I think he is the most actractive man that ever lived even then), they would shut up when he opened his mouth and sung, R.I.P George x Don't let the haters bring you down, you've always got 'us' :)
@sweetmay7..........zzzzzZZzzz boring............. comment, they drank yes, they used LSD in their early years, smoked marihuana, used heroine, maybe still drink now and then, but what has your silly comment to do with this video? Or are you just a narrowminded judgemental person with no eye for the great music they created?
@DirkjeA wow, I wasn't being narrowminded or judgemental. the "they were all...alcoholics" is a reference to a weird al video with george harrison. I know they all did drugs, and frankly I couldn't care less. Sorry if I came across as judgmental because it was a joke. And FYI, the Beatles are the first band whose music I listened to religiously. They were my starting point for other great bands of that time.
@sweetmay73 I am sorry and applogise for my harsh words. I red my comment again and understand that I felt that way after reading yours, but there was no need to react like that and I judged just as narrowminded as I thought you did ;-) After all it is all about great music, and the Beatles were also one of the first Bands that introduced me to so many other great music. So let's keep the music alive and be grateful for all these great videos at You Tube. greetz from a Dutch lady.
@FrlghtWolf Oh my god, shut the hell up. How dare you say something so petty and disrespectful to one of the biggest talents the world has ever had? This may not be his best performance but keep in mind, this is 87 when he's quite a bit older. and he wrote thing song and sang the original. And besides the fact that you said that about GEORGE HARRISON, one of the most incredible musicians, thats no way to speak of ANYONE who's passed away, let alone, a legend.
@FrlghtWolf shut up dickhead, listen to the song and enjoy otherwise f off. write a better song if its too pedestrian, and i doubt youd know much about georges believe seeing as you knew him personally. Dont click on a song by a musician u find slow next time, people would like to watch a favourite musician perform and share positive view etc. We all now get your some expert critic and have some super inside knowledge of george. now please fuck off
@nickwhitsy - If you want a mind numbing ECHO CHAMBER, join the tea party! You can wrap yourselves up in the comforting blanket of blissful ignorance there. No room for that here. The word "Comments" doesn't mean "posts that will make "nickwhitsy" happy". Now, wash my feet. Go on! Do it! Clean the big one first. And be quick about it!
@nickwhitsy uneducated for not being as well off as he is, would you consider him a jerk and an asshole. You would, and guess what you are that asshole right now. You keep trying to discredit my point by attacking me, rather than my arguement, which proves nothing but your a jerk. I am sorry that I am not worthy of making a point.
@nickwhitsy - Not to belabor the point, but it's a contraction. It's "YOU'RE a wanker" as in "YOU ARE"...not "YOUR a wanker". Got it? Pfft! Why does George attract such an uneducated fan base?
@FrlghtWolf Oh my god mate, what do spelling errors have to do with how intelligent or educated I am. Is every engineer mathematician is a excellent speller? I don't think so (I use engineer as that is what I am studying at univeristy currently). I like how you continue to make yourself look like a wanker by pulling me up on a common spelling error and concluding I am uneducated. Even if I was uneducated that would not change the fact your a dickhead that thinks he is some expert critic.
@FrlghtWolf mate i don't care how i spell your on a youtube video and i dont have an ipad or ipone. The point i was trying to make is why come on a video and complain. No-one gives a shit about your opinions of a man who has achieved more than you ever will. YOUR an asshole who tries to belittle people on their employment or education. So if someone said to you, the CEO of the company you work for is abusing you and your co-workers because he thinks your 'bottom feeders' and called you uneducate
@FrlghtWolf You know what? Maybe you should stop being so pompous and judgmental. What does grammar matter on Youtube? Just because people don't bother to differentiate between you're and your doesn't mean they're uneducated or stupid. If you calmed down a bit and stop putting down other people for seemingly no reason at all, you might actually be able to listen to and enjoy George's music. Just an idea.
@FrlghtWolf I don't see how you can relate abbreviating words on youtube comments for convenience to the idiots who do that in exams. And I'm not American, so that isn't really relevant.
@FrlghtWolf Alright, let's talk about relentless obsessions with celebrities, shall we? You're so obsessed with George Harrison that you've commented on practically every single video there is of him on Youtube. Just let it go, for god's sake!! And please dispense with the capital letters...we understand that you're passionate, you don't need to thrust it in our faces.
@ArgentineExpel4Fraud I accept that you're not the only one who hates George's music, I'm sure there are many of your kind. However, there are probably only a handful of people who are either stupid or petty enough to repeat the same hate-filled comments on video after video after video. If you want to be a little better at commenting with multiple accounts, you should at least practice WRITING in a different way. And how is he a creep anyway??
@glassoniongirl64 - Well, you have a point. Keep in mind it does not require that much effort to cut and paste. Since each post is read only 3 or 4 times before it drops out of view it pays to repeat. You realize that the ONLY person who would actually run into my multiple postings are people "stupid enough" or "petty enough" to spend their waking hours in George Harrison videos. As for "multiple" accounts...that's a great idea. I hadn't thought of doing that yet!
@glassoniongirl64don't listen to me. I'm a liar. I'm a bullshit spewing assmunch who hates on George. Take my HBO shit. The film has been seen world wide, commanded huge media attention, and is released in theatres overseas. Did Lennon get this attention? NOPE. Has Paul? NOPE. I resent post-Beatle Harrison overshadowing my Hee-Row John Lennon! I talk all kinds of chicken shit about music and lyrics. But guess what? I DON'T PLAY ANY INSTRUMENT and I NEVER STUDIED LITERATURE ANYWHERE!
I have to say I do not like this performance to well. I love this song with a passion, but this performance is pretty hodge podge. Two drummers is gross, and they overdid it, simplicity is better. I saw this song performed with two acoustics and NOTHING else and it blows this one out of the fucking water.
@tristandaman121 Consult Wikipedia before running your mouth, bonehead.
Also, the comment that you're making an ass of yourself while trying to talk down to is actually referring to how the song only works with one drummer.
Dude, I love this song, but how can one look past the rockin' mullets. Behold the Greatness of the Mullet, and acknowledge the Bhagadavad Vita on the path to war. The Bhagavdavad Vita says; "the mullet rocks all. Understand it to be so." That is all.
My impersonation of GEORGE HARRISON's guitar playing on "Here, There and Everywhere":
-
To lead a better life, I need my love to be here;
-
Here, (PLANK!) making each day of the year (PLANK!) Changing my life (PLANK!) with the wave of her hand (PLANK!). Nobody can deny (PLANK!) that there's (PLANK!) something there! (PLANK!)
-
There (PLANK!) running my hands through her hair (PLANK!) Both of us thinking how good it can be (PLANK!) Someone is speaking but she doesn't know he's there! (PLANK!)
@CubanCheGuevara Well, actually... mr. " i'm always right about everything on george harrison" First and foremost, If you had ANY degree of musical intelligence at all, you'd know that it GOES WITH THE MUSIC! Instead, you're just a lonely bastard who just wants attention. For all we know, that could've been little Johnny at the guitar:) the reason your comment about Here There and Everywhere was flagged as spam was because your a dick and u dont no what the fuck ur talking about
@FrlghtWolf Haha...you're just proving my point! You don't find this in Lennon videos or McCartney videos because Harrison is actually worth talking about! Another reason this is happening is because YOU people can't except the fact that He wrote just as good music as John or Paul so you guys come to his videos and bullshit on his songs. People really like his songs, people unlike you! And by making comments like these, you HAVEN'T changed anyones mind about him. Thank you very much
Oh gosh, not a chance walleyrange -- I'm sure it was an incredible thrill for Phil Collins -- who was part of the crowd scene in "A HARD DAYS NIGHT" -- and as I said before, I think Phil Collins is a fantastic drummer, even though I think the drumming in this peformance is way too heavy
The irony of your comment Dannytheman533 is that I believe John never played on the original Beatles version of this song! I know what you mean though, everytime I see a couple of Beatles perform together though I always wonder how great it would have been if all 4 did reunite before John and George's deaths.
I probably heard about his death on tv but at the time I was too young to know or care about it. I wish I had cared though at that time. RIP George :)
some people shoud not have to die. I'm really into the Beatles and it's so hard to imagine, that John and George are dead. i never meet them, but I actually miss them :(
oh my fucking god...TuT Georgie we miss you :( you so fantastic of the four beatles for me you are the best (': WHY WHY WHY!!?? you go :(.....well somethign is that you now are a legend!! :D
@knumpcy Oh I totally disagree -- Ringo was a terrific drummer who had a style all his own -- the fills on "A Day in the Life", the complex pattern he establishes on "She Said She Said", the excellent drumming all the way through ABBEY ROAD to name a few examples; and Ringo's drumming always complimented the song he played on... that's not to criticise Phil Collins' abilities -- Collins is a terrific musician, but I don't think the heavy beat in this performance fits in with the song at all.
Beautiful performance of a beautiful song... my only complaint is the drumming... way too heavy for this song... I think Phil Collins should have taken a coffee break for this song and let Ringo handle it solo
@JohnCee754 Ringo could never play drums, that is why he is not heard of or seen again after Georges death...Fact is fact and Phil Collins could sing or play any instrument in any shape or form around Ringo any day....Just stating fact...
Such a talented guy could only not been the head of the band in the Beatles. In any other band he would have played he would have been the most important guy.

DirkjeA 5 months ago
@DirkjeA wow, I wasn't being narrowminded or judgemental. the "they were all...alcoholics" is a reference to a weird al video with george harrison. I know they all did drugs, and frankly I couldn't care less. Sorry if I came across as judgmental because it was a joke. And FYI, the Beatles are the first band whose music I listened to religiously. They were my starting point for other great bands of that time.
sweetmay73 3 months ago

And besides the fact that you said that about GEORGE HARRISON, one of the most incredible musicians, thats no way to speak of ANYONE who's passed away, let alone, a legend.
silverskittles50 6 months ago
@silverskittles50 - You'll excuse me if I don't kneel at
the altar of celebrity worship. Personally, I find George's
music rather pedestrian. Lacking the complex structure
of his older mates. More troubling was this post-Beatle
posturing that would have us believe he was "spiritual"
and "quiet". He was never "quiet" and there's evidence
that he wasn't all THAT "spiritual". The man who lectured
others on taking care of the planet and our bodies, literally
SMOKED HIMSELF TO DEATH.
FrlghtWolf 6 months ago
@FrlghtWolf shut up dickhead, listen to the song and enjoy otherwise f off. write a better song if its too pedestrian, and i doubt youd know much about georges believe seeing as you knew him personally. Dont click on a song by a musician u find slow next time, people would like to watch a favourite musician perform and share positive view etc. We all now get your some expert critic and have some super inside knowledge of george. now please fuck off
nickwhitsy 6 months ago
@nickwhitsy - If you want a mind numbing ECHO CHAMBER, join the tea party! You can wrap yourselves up in the comforting blanket of blissful ignorance there. No room for that here. The word "Comments" doesn't mean "posts that will make "nickwhitsy" happy". Now, wash my feet. Go on! Do it! Clean the big one first. And be quick about it!
FrlghtWolf 6 months ago
@nickwhitsy uneducated for not being as well off as he is, would you consider him a jerk and an asshole. You would, and guess what you are that asshole right now. You keep trying to discredit my point by attacking me, rather than my arguement, which proves nothing but your a jerk. I am sorry that I am not worthy of making a point.
nickwhitsy 6 months ago
@FrlghtWolf Dude your a wanker.
nickwhitsy 6 months ago
@nickwhitsy - Not to belabor the point, but it's a contraction. It's "YOU'RE a wanker" as in "YOU ARE"...not "YOUR a wanker". Got it? Pfft! Why does George attract such an uneducated fan base?
FrlghtWolf 6 months ago
@FrlghtWolf Oh my god mate, what do spelling errors have to do with how intelligent or educated I am. Is every engineer mathematician is a excellent speller? I don't think so (I use engineer as that is what I am studying at univeristy currently). I like how you continue to make yourself look like a wanker by pulling me up on a common spelling error and concluding I am uneducated. Even if I was uneducated that would not change the fact your a dickhead that thinks he is some expert critic.
nickwhitsy 6 months ago
@nickwhitsy - Your mistake wasn't "spelling", it was
grammar. A small thing among the bottom feeders.
These people who do not read or write and busy them-
selves with a culture of mental masturbation. I never
saw a more useless thing than an iPhone or a iPad.
In a world full of TEXTING midgets, grammar and
spelling mean nothing. You're no engineer. Far more
likely you're (notice how I've used "you're" twice now
for "you are" instead of "your") an employee of Star-
bucks or Burger King.
FrlghtWolf 6 months ago
@FrlghtWolf mate i don't care how i spell your on a youtube video and i dont have an ipad or ipone. The point i was trying to make is why come on a video and complain. No-one gives a shit about your opinions of a man who has achieved more than you ever will. YOUR an asshole who tries to belittle people on their employment or education. So if someone said to you, the CEO of the company you work for is abusing you and your co-workers because he thinks your 'bottom feeders' and called you uneducate
nickwhitsy 6 months ago
@nickwhitsy - I understand your anger. Most people who,
for one reason or another, did not invest in themselves
early and are now dealing with the consequences, strike
out at those that did. This is strangely similar to what George
did. When the critics and the public pretty much ignored his
music and elevated John and Paul to saint-hood, George
bitterly denounced the Beatles as "unimportant". For the rest
of his life, George gave the Beatles a THUMBS DOWN. Very
bitter sour grapes!
FrlghtWolf 6 months ago
@FrlghtWolf You know what? Maybe you should stop being so pompous and judgmental. What does grammar matter on Youtube? Just because people don't bother to differentiate between you're and your doesn't mean they're uneducated or stupid. If you calmed down a bit and stop putting down other people for seemingly no reason at all, you might actually be able to listen to and enjoy George's music. Just an idea.
glassoniongirl64 2 months ago
@glassoniongirl64 - Yes, I can see how to a TEXTING
FUCK grammar would mean almost nothing. Many young
people now take written exams in high school and college
and actually use the same texting abbreviations when
writing! LOL They actually think that's how to spell the
word! Little wonder America is going down the toilet but
FAST. But don't let me stop you! Knock yourself out. Write
like a fucking gang member. I don't care!
FrlghtWolf 2 months ago
@FrlghtWolf I don't see how you can relate abbreviating words on youtube comments for convenience to the idiots who do that in exams. And I'm not American, so that isn't really relevant.
glassoniongirl64 2 months ago
@glassoniongirl64- Well, congratulations on NOT
being an American. However, that doesn't mean you
don't have their disease...this relentless obsession
with celebrities. Abbreviating words is a shortcut.
America's decline has as much to do with SHORTCUTS
as it does with GREED. First you start writing like a
retard...then you start THINKING like one. Keep it
up!
FrlghtWolf 1 month ago
@FrlghtWolf Alright, let's talk about relentless obsessions with celebrities, shall we? You're so obsessed with George Harrison that you've commented on practically every single video there is of him on Youtube. Just let it go, for god's sake!! And please dispense with the capital letters...we understand that you're passionate, you don't need to thrust it in our faces.
glassoniongirl64 1 month ago
@glassoniongirl64 - I'm not the only one who hates George's music.

I have to say I do not like this performance to well. I love this song with a passion, but this performance is pretty hodge podge. Two drummers is gross, and they overdid it, simplicity is better. I saw this song performed with two acoustics and NOTHING else and it blows this one out of the fucking water.

@CubanCheGuevara Well, actually... mr. Instead, you're just a lonely bastard who just wants attention. For all we know, that could've been little Johnny at the guitar:) the reason your comment about Here There and Everywhere was flagged as spam was because your a dick and u dont no what the fuck ur talking about
mrbeng111 1 month ago
@mrbeng111 - Have you noticed that Harrison is
the ONLY Beatle who needs this kind of defending?
Only George has full time "gate keepers" who flag
anything less than praise as "SPAM". You don't find this in Lennon or McCartney videos. If Harrison was
was talented or as "spiritual" as you claim, his new
documentary wouldn't have gone straight to cable TV.
Nor would it be titled "Living In A Material World".
Which suggests George struggled with MATERIALISM.
Thus, a hypocrite!
FrlghtWolf 1 month ago
