@longmarvin2025 Agree completely that the Remake and Zero are the best looking games on the Cube and are second to none for atmosphere and scares - BUT - while being blown away by all the sound and visuals it's easy to forget that these two classics are also virtually unplayable due to the abysmally crap control you have over the characters. RE4 solved this problem but it was RE in name only, more like a comedy version first person shooter, good in itself though.

@anima12321 Actually, Capcom could have done plenty to improve the game. Of course, it's a simple matter of risk/reward and Capcom took as little risk as possible with a quick-and-dirty port, just like it typically does. As Sessler and Webb stated, what was great in 2000 did not translate as such in 2004. There's a reason certain games are regarded as timeless classics while others only age poorly as time goes on. This is an unfortunate example of the latter.

To be fair, this IS probably the least loved RE game (not counting Survivor), and at a $39.99 price tag, that is pretty epic fail.

But for those of us who never had a Dreamcast, and the gamecube was our first real exposure to this game, we're able to appreciate it for what it is/was.

Code Veronica isn't exactly the crowning cup of the Resident Evil franchise. They were pretty right about the criticisms in the game, but it's at least a 2, 3 maybe. I think the price point tipped the review though. The release at 40 bucks was ridiuclous, same as RE2 and RE3(even though I bought them).
