  • great vid i've bought ar drone last week and i control it by iphone so i would like to tell

what is the best iphone or ipad to go higher ?

becouse im going to sale my iphone and get an ipad (:

  • @t3rfni

None of both...the range with wifi is only 50m.

Buy yourself the RC conversion, so you have a range about 250 meters.

...but an iPad makes fun anyway. ;)

  • How high can they go i wanna buy one of this hellicopta

  • Great footage.. thanks for sharing

  • wow that really high up plus you got your Ar Drone back plus your gopro2 so i guess you put your number on it? well i did the same thing i also lost sigal to my x450 quadcoputer but its was at night time check out my video !!

  • @Ec130Rhine

No, the police have seen on the video the license plate of my car ... lucky. :)

Cool part, the x450...makes a role and stabilizing again...without that you could do what? Crazy!

  • Hello,

    Nice video !

    Two things I don't understand :

1/ When the drone looses the wifi connexion (120 m maxi with an iPad from my experiences), normally it automatically switches to "land mode". Your drone kept ascending a long time, why ?

2/ The "battery low" state switches to "land mode", yes, but the time before motors cutting of is # 20 seconds. Never 3 minutes !

Can you explain these mysteries ?

Is the Gopro not too heavy ?

  • @Grosjean67

    Thanks

    1. The range with wifi is only 50m and maybe they should have landed, but she has not.

One possibility is the additional weight of the GoPro.

    2. Caution: In the video you can see that the playback rate at landing was halved.

It flies...no...the GoPro is really not too heavy. ;)

    Mystery solved? :)

  • Did the AR Drone survived?

  • @MarxJoshua

Yes it has...with a broken middle cross.

Already been repaired and flies like new again.

  • Très belle vidéo merci pour le partage !!

  • WOW That was a badass video Very cool. Great Music and production

  • @dwdrum1

    Thanks

    Above all, it was fun.

  • You forgot the "no drones were harmed during this video" tag :P

  • @Padarom

    :-D

    My mistake ... I swear she's fine!

  • Ist das in Frauenfeld?

  • @oitsukijudan

    Jep...nöd schlächt gratä! ;)

Dä Start isch i dä Allmänd gsi...

  • @TheSorry4u

Merci...werde ich dem Papagei weiterleiten... ;)

  • he does not use wifi, so what does he use ? and where can you get this add-on ?

  • @lumpissimo

There was wifi...that's why it was so. ;)

You can find in the web provider for RC conversion.

  • on this high i have fogotten my Ar.Drone.

  • Wow this is a nice story,. lovely...man that was high,. and that your Drone is found back....

  • @tripbyte

    Thanks :)

  • WOW....pretty amazing! That's flying VERY HIGH considering you can see the curveture of the earth!

  • @Guitarz1970

    Haha...that was the GoPro...with 170° wide angle...;)

  • @Guitarz1970 That's not the curvature of the earth. That's the curvature of a GoPro fisheye lens.

  • How high will this thing fly?

  • @Guitarz1970

No one I know and who has seen the video, dare to estimate the amount.

The only clue is the "hill" on the snapshot with the Swiss Alps.

The city below is at 417 m above sea level and the hill is at 653 m above sea level (Wikipedia).

You look about it, so more than 236 m (774 feet), but this is again only an estimate.

  • @KrumbiOriginal The best way to estimate it is to identify the furthest visible location in the video, the location of the drone at the time, then use some trigonometry to determine how high you'd have to be to see that far. My guess is ~1,000-1,500 feet AGL.

Amazing (and slightly terrifying) video, btw. Were you flying by WiFi or with the MacGyver mod or similar?

  • @gweilo8888

Thank you for the explanation. I'll try.

With wifi, but I will rebuild the Drone times on RC ... otherwise it is still hit someone on the head. ;)

  • i thought the A.R. Drone colud only fly upto 50 meters?????????

  • @dude89415

No no...the range is 50 meters with wifi.

They fly so long to the air is too thin ... or just ... the battery is empty. ;)

  • Nice video.

How was the go pro mounted on the drone ? Was it under the ultrasonic sensor ? Cause it could explained what appended.

  • @feudorium

In a piece of styrofoam ... very good Idea, because it is still intact. ;)

No, she has covered only the small camera down ... so slightly to the rear.

The ultrasonic sensor works anyway only to 6 meters.

  • Amazing video. Your video finally helped me in deciding if i should purchase an AR parrot. two questions, how mych did the mounted cam cost and secondly whats the music ? Love from India.

  • @AIIMSONIANSETHI

Cool ... so we will see in future pictures over the clouds of India. Thumbs up! ;)

This is a GoPor HD Hero 2 I do not know how much it costs in India. I get paid 350.00 CHF (Swiss Francs) ... so about $ 362.00 (U.S. dollars).

The music is from Dusty Kid and the title called America.

    Greets back from Switzerland.

  • Glad you got your stuff back... Great video! Thanks.

  • @Overcranking

    :)

So I would have never expected.

The coincidence write the best stories...thank you

  • @KrumbiOriginal I hope you make more videos! I have flown over the Germany many times when I was in the US Army back in the early 80's. Stationed at the Finthen Army Airfield near Weisbaben. Beautiful countryside! How high were you when you lost communications and what device (iPad) were you using? Thanks again!

  • @Overcranking

I have before, but if the videos are as good as this one...?! ;)

I think you mean "Wiesbaden" near Frankfurt (largest civilian airport in Germany think so ...).

That would have been about 50 meters and I have controlled the drone with an iPad 2.

  • @KrumbiOriginal Yes, Wiesbaden, I used to party in Ingelheim & Mainz. Sorry if spelling is bad, it has been along time. I was stationed at Flugplatz Mainz-Finthen. I heard they closed it in 1991 because the US Army was re-organizing. Take care.

  • epic!!!!!!!!!!!! i want 1 cant afford): i wanted go in space hehehehehe did y sell some pics lol hard get that high right????

  • @MrTrain125

As soon as you can afford it, there is a lot better ... so easy ;)

Haha....I have now got enough pictures...

You want to know how high it is?

  • Great video! It would be great if you make a tutorial about how to attach properly the Gopro to the AR Drone....

  • @Rudel23

    Also thanks

There are a few providers in the web, for example etfett.net.

But for $ 85 .00 or so I think it's much too expensive.

Be creative...I have a small cut from styrofoam box and attached it.

very light, very strong and protects the gopro...how do you see. ;)

    I hope this helps you

  • wow great video and that is very high im saving up for the 2.0

  • @skeetnice

thank you...although I did not do much with it. ;)

Probably a good idea...with pressure sensor for altitude.

  • The range limitations in the AR Drone is what keeps me from buying one. if you lose signal, they say I'M FREE !!!!! and fly away like a caged bird. I'm surprised it was found again. luckily it was too tired and hungry to fly away when the woman found it... lol

  • @weaponeer

The range is 50 meters on wifi...actually enough.

But the Swiss military was doing radio exercises in this area....if you know where, you can see it short in the edge of the video. My mistake... :)

With RC conversion are 250 meter range possible.

  • hast du die ar.drone jetzt wieder?

sonst musst du dir halt die ar.drone 2,0 kaufen;)

  • @raffotronik

  • 5:00 looks like its a small earth :D

  • @Powerdirect0r

Which proves that the earth is really round! ;)

  • @KrumbiOriginal What...i thougt it is flat *shocked face* o.O

  • @Powerdirect0r

What do you think how it happened to me when I first saw the video?! *rofl* :-)

  • @KrumbiOriginal *thinking* ... you was like "wtf" :D

  • Simply AMAZING!
