  • beautiful...

  • This song ranks up there with the likes of Leonard Cohen, Paul Simon, Joni Mitchell, Dylan, etc. Rarified air that few songwriters reach in a lifetime. Listens well and reads well off the page. That's an extremely hard feat to manage. This song does it.

  • Emmylou is the greatest

  • omfg truely amazing

  • I love her voice whatever she is singing, but this is the most beautiful and profound thing I've heard her voice sing.

  • I've just read the complete lyrics to this song: true poetry

  • i really like this song and a lot of the other ones that she did in some of her more recent albums, such as wrecking ball, red dirt girl, stumble into grace...... her earlier stuff is good, but not as good.

  • Emmylou is simply amazing

  • what an amazing song..the music is hauntling and the lyric....just amazing...just beautiful...

  • I would kill to be able to write songs as good as this and emmylou's passionate delivery of this song makes it awesome.

  • her most gorgeous, bittersweet song ever. each time i listen, i'm stunned by the lyrics, instrumentation, emotion and sheer beauty.

  • Last night I dreamed about you I dreamed you were a pilgrim On a highway out alone to find The mother of your children Who were still unborn and waiting In the wings of some desire Abandoned long ago Michelangelo Were you there at Armageddon Was Paris really burning Could I have been the one to pull you From the point of no returning And did I hear you calling out my name Or was it forgotten long ago Michelangelo
  • to CAPTAINGRISLEY.

thanks for the lyrics of Michelangelo.

She's the Goddess of the CountryMusic, not Queen only.

  • To Fausto: Yes, you are right. I listen to Emmylou´s music since a long time - and she ´s better since ever before. And her duets with Mark give me goose-pickles ...

  • Last night I dreamed about you

I dreamed that you were riding

On a blood red painted pony

Up where the heavens were dividing

And the angels turned to ashes

You came tumbling with them to earth

    So Far below

    Michelangelo

  • Some things never change,Emmylou's voice beautiful as ever

  • No,I listened to her music since the 70`th - and now she even got better. She´s the Queen of Country to me.

  • I totally agree. She's getting better and better....

  • Cant say anything...God touch them. Unfortunately I wont see them live:(

  • Thanks this is indeed stunning and thanks again because this track is not on the new live DVD - can't figure why. Wish I had been there.

  • Guy Fletcher said that Emmylou didn't want it to be on DVD. He didn't told why..

  • To pick up on heyvaerts comment above - I'm a massive Mark Knopfler fan, but I did know about Emmylou through my parents - I have to say I think shes totally amazing here!!!

  • all the way from perth australia! I LOVE YOU EMMYLOU!

  • Wow! This wonderous artist always gives us everything she's got. An amazing performance, the essence of the human spirit!

  • for a love beyond all keeping...

  • Anyone who hasn't seen Emmylou live yet, should be convinced to do now by this fabulous rendering of Michelangelo. At this concert sitting next to me was a Mark Knopfler fan who didn't know Emmylou very well.

I had to tell him to close his mouth after this song as it had dropped in pure admiration. Stunning.

  • I'm just speechless. This is as good as it gets folks. Wow. Thanks for Tubing this vid!

  • Breathtakingly stunning. I love Mark's backing on this. The band added a very sweet edge to this Emmylou masterpiece.
