@allangoo Except in the cases of those who have either altogether lost their minds and/or any sense of decency. The female might have been French, but in screaming furious obscenities she forfeited any right to be regarded as a lady.
Booing, in any case, is done not by men but by boors and cowards.
I'm surprised he consented to all that by play with the dress. Do singers ever say no to idiotic stage business. After all is brilliance in Rossini I'm wondering why he even consented to singing this Bellin. I love his Puritani, but he is wasted here. The opera itself is beautiful but the soprano gets all the true gems. Thanks for posting this though- Ernesto
Bravo, Rocky! Awful production, beautiful singing/conducting. I hope this Opera gets more staging. It's one of Bellini's least known works and it's amazing.
Tremolo and wobble are the too-fast and too-slow versions of vibrato, which has a measured range of vibrations per second. Blake falls within the accepted range for vibrato.
I was there in 1993 at St Etienne and it was booed!
Normally booing is done by men, but at a matinee performance I attended, a middle aged French lady stood up and screamed furious obscenities.
