I was thinking about seeing this movie but I must know...Does the horse die at the end? I hate those kinds of movies, and would appreciate knowing before I go see it.
This movie was one of the most beautiful movies I have ever seen in my life. It showed a true story between love, trust, faith, hope and courage. The way they train the horses to do what they did, was amazing to watch. It must have taken so long to train so many horses, but they did an amazing job. Spielberg and Williams...i salute you. :) I can't wait to get the DVD <3

I will not see this. This is a disgrace to the book and play. The book was moving, and the play was amazing. The play uses puppets to move the horses, people make the horses come to life. But what happened? spielberg decided that he had to have a part of the action, and will ruin War horse. If this movie sucks (and it will), people will think the play and book are like this, and will not see them. Speilberg will kill the broadway play. People will see the crap movie instead.

All movies these days look the same...They all have this green, blue, brown look to them, offcourse this is because all movies these days are digitally color corrected and they basically all use the same type of correction...boring as hell.
I can remember when Spielberg's movies had a unique look to them back in the late 70's early to mid 80's, these days are long over, so sad.
From what I understand - this scene will be the hardest for peeps to take in this movie - the horse was drafted - didn't want to be - surrounded by war - shell shocked - only wanted to go home. Thus this scene of him running home.
hyped this move up to Military Reunion Planners looking at our hotel for a 2013 Reunion ... no go on the animal argument ... they acknowledged that the UK paid homage to their horses years ago .. but I guess the USA acknowledged our dogs who served even before their horses .. :) They reminded me that a monument stands in DC dedicated to them

@wickedpheonix1995, I almost cried too, I have heard so much good about the books and the stage play. I am sure Spielberg will give the classic Empire Of The Sun treatment making it a classic war drama movie.
I believe it is loosely based on a true story of a horse named Sgt. Reckless during the Korean War. Sgt Reckless saved many lives by carrying ammo across the battlefield, by himself with no rider. do a search for sgt reckless on youtube to see his story.
I love how this trailer is allows for John Williams to do his magic, the music just flows beautifully, there is none of the usual trailer sound effects etc, just the beautiful music conveying the emotions. Williams and Spielberg always equals something amazing. :)

From what I understand - this scene will be the hardest for peeps to take in this movie - the horse was drafted - didn't want to be - surrounded by war - shell shocked - only wanted to go home. Thus this scene of him running home.

hyped this move up to Military Reunion Planners looking at our hotel for a 2013 Reunion ... no go on the animal argument ... they acknowledged that the UK paid homage to their horses years ago .. but I guess the USA acknowledged our dogs who served even before their horses .. :) They reminded me that a monument stands in DC dedicated to them

I believe it is loosely based on a true story of a horse named Sgt. Reckless during the Korean War. Sgt Reckless saved many lives by carrying ammo across the battlefield, by himself with no rider. do a search for sgt reckless on youtube to see his story.

I love how this trailer is allows for John Williams to do his magic, the music just flows beautifully, there is none of the usual trailer sound effects etc, just the beautiful music conveying the emotions. Williams and Spielberg always equals something amazing. :)
