It's a bit more compliced then people are making it out to be. I would say it has more to do with Japan's homogeneous sociey then flat out racism. Japan has a strong sense of group and national identity and little or no ethnic or racial diversity. So you can't really blame them for this mindset. Hell even ethic Koreans in Japan are still seen as foreigners. My best advice is to learn as much about the people, customs, language and culture as possible which will go a long ways as is a start.

Well I live here in Japan about 3 years now, and I live in a really small town . People started get a long with me , but that's one sad think about they never asked me about my culture and they worship Americans and that my cute friend makes me feel sad!

What is it like getting off the airplane when it lands in Japan? That's like my biggest fear, getting out of the airport and to my destination. How do you get the taxi drivers to understand where you wanna go? Do people that work at the airport know english?

Don't buy into that it was the great majority of Germans that supported the Nazis and supported them vigorously. You had few resistance groups comprised of Germans but they were like maybe 2% of the population. The Japanese when under the radar due to the deal they made with us, but the Japanese worked just as brutal and animalistic as the Germans.

No matter what you can say, foreigners generally have it better in Japan than foreigners in France, the UK, the US, Spain, etc. People are not always happy to have to deal with us (sometimes with damn good reason), big deal. Much of the "discrimination" I've experienced has been positive, e.g. getting laid way more than I deserve, getting free bottles of sake for no reason, etc.

In Japan, ordinary peopel from overseas are generally cordially received.
However, jobless hippies and losers from US, beer-guzzling hooligans from Aus, kangaroo-eating morons (Aussies) are disliked and ignored by the local people.
