Should be called Merthyr to Brecon mountain railway, because it starts in pant Merthyr Tydfil the railway sheds and engineering department are all based there, so why it's called the Brecon mountain railway I have no idea, it dosen't even travel to Brecon in fact it dosen't travel outside the Merthyr borough, still though it shows how beautiful the Merthyr valley is.
@ALEJANDROVICCO Brecon Mountain Railway 1 ft 11+3⁄4 in (603 mm) a tiny gauge but the train is fairly big ,,, im told this locomotive will reach speeds of 60 mph
@Bobcatonline thanks bob ,,if you go here take a brick to hold down the camera ,,lol ,, 1135 ft above sea level i suppose we might expect a tiny draft ,,,,lol
@XxBec3509 I made this trip several years ago and I've recently rescued the video tape and re-edited it. I was lucky - no wind. If you want top see it go to Bobcatonline Brecon Mountain Railway.
@Bobcatonline and as for the wind ,, id have to tighten up the tripod making it impossible to pan around and you know how i like a nice pan around ,, lol ,, but im not fussed its a nice place and a lovley place to film and picnic :)
@xtremewrestling4eva i agree ,,youve got to see it to believe it was a cracking bit of engineering ,, i like these narrow gauge railways , just as good as the big ones :)
@TheUktransportfan this engine is a total animal ,, it can pull a 300ton train loaded wagons ,, forget what he said it used to do in America ,it was built in the 1930 in America ,ive got some great footage of this loco ,, :)
yes it should be merthyr-brecon mountain railway.

Brecon Mountain Railway: more accurately Merthyr Mountain Railway. It is a long way from Brecon.

Very nicely filmed, I live in Merthyr, I walk and ride my bike in that area regular, and must say it's one of the most beautiful parts of the UK.

Nice shot despite the wind! I've never seen No 2 in action. Graf Schwerin Lowke has always been tugging me along the track.
