  • muito bom! perfeito

  • Garageband - nothing fancy for this one!

  • What DAW did you use?

  • Great!!! One question: Did you use any Equalizer or Compressor?

  • @DontForgetYourDreams Thanks! Nope, this is what it sounds straight out of the box.

  • Absolutely great! It cannot find any difference to songs from Hans Zimmer and co. you could use this song without any problems in a big hollywood production.

  • NiCe!!! Wonder To Be Continued!

  • A short question, you stated that this is from the Gold edition. Normal gold edition or the upgraded version with 3 mic positions? because i got the normal gold edition but i just cant get any decent stringsound out of it. do you have any tips?

  • @Onibubu666 This is normal Gold Edition, one mic position! The key to getting a good string sound is selecting the right patches, and then adjusting the attacks / releases of them so that all of the notes flow and overlap slightly as they would in a live orchestra. Hope that helps!

  • Man, this is just beautiful, no there other words to express it... only a question, is just the east west orchestral gold edition, or something more? i say it 4 the snare..

  • @ManiMcLethal Thanks! Nope, this is just EWQL Gold - the snare is in the percussion folder!

  • Goosebumps. Very uplifting piece here. You really have great command of the craft, my friend. Please keep making music.

  • @GWSFilms Thanks George! Another piece in search of a movie... if you've got anything coming up film-wise, definitely let me know.

  • Beautiful work. A little short though.

  • rly good

  • Chris you should write words to this and have a soprano sing it!

  • This is beautiful...very patriotic-sounding, which I think is VERY appropriate for today! Glad I found this!

  • @BarrelsPolesandJack Thanks, glad you enjoyed! A lot of my music tends to have a very Americana feel to it... if you have time, check out "With Glory in Their Eyes!"

  • @KLGAviation I did, but I'd like the original version (like this one), if you wouldn't mind. The live performance really doesn't do the song justice, I don't think. Too much noise and sound problems.

  • This is beautiful, but unfortunately I'm going to have to be another one of those annoying people who post questions under your videos. The sounds going on in this video are what's going on in my head. Unfortunately I can't get my SO Gold to sound anything like this. Do you have any tips for a young, aspiring SO user? Where to start getting such clean legatos and what not? Don't feel obligated, whether you answer or not you're fantastic and keep going!

  • @Palakto Hey, I was a young aspiring SO user just a year ago... actually, I'm STILL a young aspiring SO user! :) For realism, my suggestions are: use a sustain pedal, use samples with swells in them, and adjust their envelopes in PLAY. I find that extending the tails and decreasing the attacks, especially on string samples, can work wonders! You want the music to flow, not to sound like individual triggered samples. Hope that helps and feel free to message me if you have any more questions! :)

  • hey can u msg me please im having installation problems

  • Chris, very moving. I just picked up Gold Complete today. I am installing the discs as we speak. I started hunting down demos like this using Gold but much of it sounded canned and tinny and amateurish. I was getting discourages. Thanks for putting your heart into it.

I can't wait until the last disc is finished installing. I don't think I'll be getting to bed tonight. :) A very mature and emotional piece. I'd like to hear more.

  • @Fallenbrook Thank you, I'm glad you appreciate it! If you're looking for other pieces composed using Gold Complete, feel free to check out "Go West, Young Man" on my channel---I think it's a much better representation of what Gold can accomplish. Enjoy your purchase, you won't be disappointed!

  • i wish i had this software but im too poor to afford it and my laptop couldn't handle it :/

  • WOW O WOW!! That is impressive!! Who would ever think that all this sound could come from a plug-in module. Aint technology great but your vision is excellent as well.

  • Amazing ,Healing for the soul, expension of the inspiration,LIFE,BEAUTY,LOVE

    but way too short!!!sadly

  • Yet again, wonderful job! Your orchestration was quite mature, and the melody line(s) unfurled smoothly and naturally; certainly a great "test demo" for a new purchase. This actually reminded me a bit of Michael Kamen's opening theme to Band of Brothers.

  • @mitchnutt216 Hehe -- Actually, it reminds me more of Hans Zimmer's opening theme to The Pacific! Both soundtracks incorporate similar instrumentation and themes.

  • @mitchnutt216 Neither of which I've heard, whew! Haha thanks, I'll be sure to check them out... I'm still thinking about turning this one into a full work.

  • Comment removed

  • @KLGAviation It certainly has potential. You could possibly add a different transition after :51, using elements (or all) of the opening horn theme. Then you could build to a culminating repetition of the :20 - :51 theme with all (or most) instruments playing tutti, and end with another solo horn gesture. Just a few things that came to mind. Again, love the work! Can't wait to see it expanded. :D

Oh, and sorry if you received a lot of comment notifications. I'm new to commenting on Youtube.

  • This is beautiful man...

  • sounds very good

  • cracking that! =)

  • really great!

    Respect!

  • I really like this, have you ever thought about expanding on it and making a longer piece from it?

  • @JbFilmMusic Hey, thanks! Funny story, this theme was actually part of a full orchestra piece I wrote a few years ago... I rediscovered it and this is what I was able to salvage. But I'm definitely open to revisit it in the future!

  • This is really good!

  • What MIDI controller and sequencer do you use?

  • @jazzmatik I use a Yamaha KX8 and Garageband.

  • How much is the EastWest symphonic orchestra pack thing?

  • @danpianoman1 I think it's $495, but I got mine with a buy-one-get-one-free deal through EastWest.

  • This sure beats GPO...

  • this is soo well done, respect.

  • Gorgeous!!!

  • even if those files are for windows? or is it the same?

cuz i downloaded five .iso files , but i mount them and then i do that?

(the version i dowloaded is for windows i believe or is it the same?)

  • @innerdeth Hmm, unfortunately I only have experience using it with Mac. But I'm sure if you check out the Hardware section of the Sounds-online forum they'll be able to help more than I can!

  • @KLGAviation Im on a mac too, or is there a way you could send me your files...or is there a link you downloaded them from?

  • how did you add the samples to garage band?

i ve got EWQLSO Gold too, but dont know how to add the files to garageband library

  • @innerdeth Hey! Ok, so you open up Garageband, and in the Track Info box under "Instrument Generator," click it, and select "PLAY." Then, to open it up, click on the Edit tool on the right side of the Instrument Generator row and it should open up. Let me know if that helps

  • AWESOME....I use the same library...It is incredible....Check out my creation Rendezvous on my channel...

I came to East West about 3 years ago from using Edirol Orchestral....I thought that was amazing...then I heard The East West library....Once you go east west, you NEVER go back :)

  • Wonderful! :) I've also done some work with EW Symphonic orchestra now, it's really nice quality

  • Hey man, really really nice piece! was wondering whatn you think of the Jam PAck voices? is it any good?

time to check out your other stuff me thinks.....

  • Thanks! I only use about three of the ensemble patches that came with Voices... honestly, I wouldn't shell out the money for it if I were you, but it does get the job done for what I need it for.

  • Beautiful!

  • Are you kidding? On Garageband?! WOW.

  • Well the platform was Garageband, but the RTAS plugin (or whatever mac uses) was East West Symphonic Orchestra....But I know...Amazing stuff isn't it?

  • Simply beautiful!
