@axxo798 it would keep on goin forever if there was no loss of energy (idealised situation) in our world these balls will bounce away with smaller and smaller amplitude, because energy is lost for example in colliisions (heating balls up) or in emmiting acoustic wave (you can hear them hitting each other)
@madcobrinho well i'm not very smart. i just graduated high school. (i don't even know how i came upon this video) But i just wanna add that friction from the air would also slow the balls down, right?
@AwesomeGameplay of course it does, this friction from air (drag force) is in reverse direction than velocity, so it does negative work on the ball ("steal" the energy from this system)
when you solve for na=1 and ns=3, you end up with complex solutions for vs, I think it means that the equations no longer holds true and is no longer an elliptical orbit, the sandwich would have exceeded the escape velocity. you can find that the number of orbits must satisfy the inequality (na)>((1/8)^0.5)*(ns)+f (and ofc, Ns belong to the natural numbers...)
I wonder why this is so but listening to this guy for 3 hours has thought me more about mechanics than listening to my professor for 8 weeks, I suppose it has something to do with my professors tendency to always waste 15 minutes explaining indexes in equations rather than their physical meaning/interpetation.
Obviously you're not too bright AKWF1u. Many people go to community college for the first two years of undergraduate school to save money. Not everyone gets rich Mommy and Daddy to pay for their tuition and student fees.
With that said, I'm a graduate of Boston University and I paid all of my tuition and student fees with my OWN money.
brilliant video

you know that toy, that shows you the third law of newton
with the balls; ball1 hits ball2 and ball5 flys away, that thing
does that thing ever stop ? or would it keep on goining ?

@axxo798 nope

he got it wrong if you add pie to the laws of gravity =121133312 so it would be 87 minuets for the sun to block half of the moon light and earth on
