  • brilliant video

  • Using a ham sandwich toss as an example is simply Engeniously peadagogic

  • how did i get here from pre-calc?!?!

  • WTF I AM DOING HERE O_O

  • Basic physics from MIT.

  • TL; DW (Too long; Didn't Watch)

  • you know that toy, that shows you the third law of newton

with the balls; ball1 hits ball2 and ball5 flys away, that thing

does that thing ever stop ? or would it keep on goining ?

  • @axxo798 nope

  • @racrdave nope on stopping or nope on keep goining ?

  • @axxo798 It's called Newton's cradle

  • @axxo798 it would keep on goin forever if there was no loss of energy (idealised situation) in our world these balls will bounce away with smaller and smaller amplitude, because energy is lost for example in colliisions (heating balls up) or in emmiting acoustic wave (you can hear them hitting each other)

  • @madcobrinho well i'm not very smart. i just graduated high school. (i don't even know how i came upon this video) But i just wanna add that friction from the air would also slow the balls down, right?

  • @AwesomeGameplay of course it does, this friction from air (drag force) is in reverse direction than velocity, so it does negative work on the ball ("steal" the energy from this system)

  • so far so good ^^

  • Is this professor from the Netherlands or from Belgium?

  • @BCObozeman yeah I heard some dutch accent too... would be cool :)

  • he got it wrong if you add pie to the laws of gravity =121133312 so it would be 87 minuets for the sun to block half of the moon light and earth on

  • this is kinda eazy for universe...

  • I survived 5 seconds, saw that math and I died.

  • I survived 5 minutes, then got lost :S

  • so..this theory is about how to make a pizza??cuz i see a circle and something near...who looks like numbers...

  • I failed at math.

  • wow

    i cant i watched this 3 minutes

  • Sounds like a Dutch guy talking English :p

  • Booooo Nerd Alert

  • @T3hBigMac boo redneck alert

  • We're not going to print it here, that's a waste of paper. It's 1999, so that's we have the web for. (Y)

  • YOU ARE ALL GREEKS !!!!!!

  • did anyone else search e to the negative pi over 2 to find this?

  • 11.2 km/s is super fucking fast.

  • haha this is very outdated, please watch the healing begins now on google to understand about orbitals of the atom. TRUST ME

  • when you solve for na=1 and ns=3, you end up with complex solutions for vs, I think it means that the equations no longer holds true and is no longer an elliptical orbit, the sandwich would have exceeded the escape velocity. you can find that the number of orbits must satisfy the inequality (na)>((1/8)^0.5)*(ns)+f (and ofc, Ns belong to the natural numbers...)

  • my brain hurts

  • Brilliant presentation!!

  • I got linked to this by a video titled if you laugh at this you are a bad person with some 6th grader with a weird laugh!

  • in response see my new movie lec 22 801 pysics 1 classical mechanics

  • you have made me! i have much info on black holes....

we come from one. info is preserved!

  • i have your world model, and impact of a object your precise location of axis.

  • gravity is not a constant

  • you have 1 fault in equation, i have your answer

  • 3:00 about kepler, lmao walter is funny as hell XD

  • omg wtf is this all i know is 2+2=5 =D

  • I wonder why this is so but listening to this guy for 3 hours has thought me more about mechanics than listening to my professor for 8 weeks, I suppose it has something to do with my professors tendency to always waste 15 minutes explaining indexes in equations rather than their physical meaning/interpetation.

    Good videoes

  • Thank you. Thank you.

  • already dead but loving it

  • I love this!

  • They're smart; NOT nerds. That's discrimination right there. He is actually interesting to listen to.

  • brain deads.

  • someone is going to community college

  • Obviously you're not too bright AKWF1u. Many people go to community college for the first two years of undergraduate school to save money. Not everyone gets rich Mommy and Daddy to pay for their tuition and student fees.

With that said, I'm a graduate of Boston University and I paid all of my tuition and student fees with my OWN money.

  • haha someone with naruto in their name calling people nerds is funny

  • Someone who watches naruto and makes runescape vids calling people nerds. How ironic.

  • really ? Like we care the slightest... Aren't you nerd as well?

  • Thank you for the Closed Captions. I am deaf and hard-of hearing.

  • An excellent presentation of orbital mechanics.
