@gunjunkie1000 No it isn't, look it up. If you are too lazy to do that, I will send you a link with the actual definition. It's only a shotgun if it came from the factory with a buttstock. You can have a pistol grip shotgun with a barrel length under 18" as long as it's still over 26" if it has never had a buttstock attached. The length of this "gun" is far under 26". It's an illegal AOW. If it had a buttstock attached at some point in it's life, then it's then a SBS.
Sweet dude, i did the same thing earlier this year and on my last try I loaded a little to much powder. It kicked out of my hands and the shell blow the side of the barrel off. So yeah, be safe and have fun. I wish I still had my flare gun, it just a waste of 40 dollars now.
@iMakeWeapons the same thing happened to us. (the side of the gun blowing off) it was so loud neither of us could hear anything for a couple of mins and we could not even find the broken off piece of the flare gun. i was even thinking about posting a 4th part showing pictures of the gun after it blew up so people would be careful and hopefully not get hurt.
It's an AOW because it's a smooth bore pistol. .22 smoothbores are considered AOWs

This is illegal and stupid. Not smart at all plus, it looks as though you don't have hearing protection adding to the stupidity.

@gunjunkie1000 you're right. ATF specifically prohibits exactly what these guys are doing.

@gunjunkie1000 It's a AOW, not a SBS. It has to first have a buttstock first to be a SBS.

@FiveTwoSevenTHR its the barrel length not the buttstock that makes an sbs what it is
