Jennifer was so beautiful. What a superb character actress too. They gave her some of the best stories to act out on film. As much as Hepburn gets raved about, her acting is over done and her films stories other than African Queen and Stage Door are dull. Jennifer's movies are pretty much all close at hand because they're great movies to watch.
@blondellful Okay. Mary, the human Mother of God, like the saints, has the power of Intercession. Both Mary and the saints can and will pray with you, to God, for heavenly help. They're not sitting around on clouds, they are still connected to us. Mary, in particular, in Catholic tradition, is believed by ordinary folks the world over to be the champion of the poor, the dispossessed, and that when she appears, it is to the pure in heart. She comes to the humble; she answers all calls for help.
Respond to this video... That's why Bernadette has such appeal. She endured months of rigorous interrogation, first by the local priest, who feared she was a fraud or an hysteric, next by psychiatrists, and other secular inquisitors, for various reasons. But the little peasant girl stuck to her story, and recounted her experience with dignity, time and again. I guess the story of Bernadette Soubirous either grabs you, or it doesn't. It grabs me.
yes, I had to recreate this video with video technology. It was a very long project which was not easy to do. I wish you luck with your report and I am happy to see that this video is helping you. Take care of yourself, God bless.
Thanks for uploading this wonderful film. Werfel's book, the 'Song of Bernadette' is really worth reading. It is the basis of the film and has much insight as well as attention to historical detail in it. Thank you
Thank you for all of your wonderful comments. I am so happy that you all are enjoying this film. For those of you who believe, no explanation is necessary.
Jennifer Jones was soooo good in this movie. Shame we don't see performances like this anymore wit a good message.
