Kenny keeps the real Black vibe going on . I dig his Woody Shaw and Maceo connection. Through in some Sonny Stiit and Bird too. no doubt who are the most original thinkers are in this special music, Maybe they are descendants of the Olmecs of Mexico who are credited wiith this hemisphere's earliest writings? I went to see Miles at Stanford in the '90s. I never heard of Kenny before and I thought to myself who is the guy playin' with Miles. Halfway through the first solo I understood! Never forget sitting right in front of him at the old Yoshi's to see his Trilogy trio. Also one particular solo he played with Marcus Miller's gig at the new Yoshi's. It was perfect, a beginning, middle and smoking climax. You know Clifton has heard some saxophone music! If he digs Kenny what is there to say? Thanks B

@jschill360 Well, I was speaking generally about all musicians who have cheapened themselves by playing the most dumbed-down commercially viable stuff there is. Also, you'd be surprised at how easy it is fuck up a blues scale. Just ask any classical musician to improvise one. Or anyone who simply can't play for that matter. There are many hip classical players that can swing, but most of 'em just run scales up and down and call it improvising. The result is less than pleasing.
