I don't see any reason to suppose he was unaware that it was being recorded... I mean, they could have recut it just fine, and there's no reason for him to go into the recording room of the studio to play a song unless they had the intention to record it. The silence and preceding noises are to add to the mood of it, like what they did with a lot of the Tormented album. Regardless, fucking awesome song.

It's not realy too much of a love song, It's about a lot of pain from a long term mentaly abusive relationship . . . but in a way still a love song. Like, you still love someone because of memories and everything you've been through with them, and you can't imagine life without them, but because of the serious relationship you've formed, it's hard to let go, even though in the case you might hate them, you still can't help but care.

Actually, it was recorded in a basement. During one of his solo shows someone asked him about the sounds before Excess Baggage, and he said it was recorded at the bottom of some stairs in a basement, the knocking sounds in the first of it are him walking down the stairs (he says he was wearing boots) and he pours himself a drink.

Last year there was an English Noble who had Cancer...
his wife had it too and was much worse than he...
she was in extreme pain and wanted to end it...
He had a couple years left but decided to go with her because she was scared and he didnt want to be without her...

It's not realy too much of a love song, It's about a lot of pain from a long term mentaly abusive relationship . . . but in a way still a love song. Like, you still love someone because of memories and everything you've been through with them, and you can't imagine life without them, but because of the serious relationship you've formed, it's hard to let go, even though in the case you might hate them, you still can't help but care.

great stuff - had this on video and lost it and they haven;t released it has a dvd so good to see it on here. Emotional song. Definitely a case of things going from bad to worse. I can well appreciate that at the moment. They're great live as well

awsome song. yeah your right it was hidden on the disfunction album i found it on accident a few days after i found the hidden track on voodoo by godsmack. i found that on my computer using windows media player i couldnt figure out why the hell it said the song was so long. and there it is hidden at the end. this sounds bettter than whats on the disk thos.

Actually, it was recorded in a basement. During one of his solo shows someone asked him about the sounds before Excess Baggage, and he said it was recorded at the bottom of some stairs in a basement, the knocking sounds in the first of it are him walking down the stairs (he says he was wearing boots) and he pours himself a drink.
He knew he was being recorded, though.
