I don't think people can wrap their minds around how huge this mountain really is. The elevation is simply staggering. What makes it even more difficult to appreciate is the fact that the only things around Everest are other huge mountains, so it's hard to get a sense of scale.
I wish I could put the Empire State Building next to Everest so people could see the magnitude of this rock.
@ejdf870 it is everest is about 17 to 20 or more bigger than the empire, but thats feet in mountain because the mountain is about 15 thousand feet tall (huge) plus the high ground. still its a huge mountain
I think there was a all mistake there. The "Tibet caption" around 0.45 sec was actually looking at Nepal. View of Tibet is when they turned lockwise (0.21-0.22 and 0.31 sec) to zoom at Makalu. Impressive video btw, well done.
