"He's the most melodic bass player in the world." "What does that mean?" "It means he's melodic." Paul's reaction to that... makes me so happy to see them smiling and laughing.
Hahaha, I love it when Larry says "let's be serious", and Paul just sits there with his hands folded, looking up at the ceiling like an innocent school boy :D
I agree with Ringo! Paul was a really good bass player! Ob-la-di-ob-la-da was a real simple bass line that I love! Alot of latin music has similar bass lines.
Uh,The music trancends you<You remember where you were. Thanks for the music. And these guys are still farting around with each other like the BeaTles. Thanks!
If I saw them in the street I would say... I dunno, probably something more than 'Thanks for the music'... Wow, I get emotional just seeing their vinyl records in the shops... should have seen me today!
I've never liked Larry King....he is the worst interviewer ever!!! The baboon must own a ton of CNN stock or something. Man why don't they just get RID of him??? I know a few 4 year-olds who could have done better and would have been excited about it.
I love it how larry goes "We'll be right back, with all four of them" And Ringo's like "Yeah" with a kinda sarcastic smirky tone. Hahaha woww they really didnt like Yoko and you can fucking tell. Olivia was fine.. but Yoko? Haha. And thats why Paul and Ringo were sadder about George's death. Because, John just lost his care for the Beatles, when the other 3 never did. Sad, isnt it?
WOW... I like how when Paul, Ringo, and Larry are all talking, Larry acts like he's in the music business and knows what he's talking about. (WHEN HE DOESNT) And then Ringo says "melodic" and Larry goes, "what does that mean?" RETARD...
Larry King is a bumbling fool. Just the worse interviewer ever. Thank god his guests are courteous and kind. They guy is clueless, doesn't know names, facts or history. Just a trainwreck.
Ringo isn't lying Paul plays the bass like it's a guitar...I know cuz I study his playing of every instrument he plays. Bass is my main, and he plays it like a guitar high in the neck.
@ironcitydevildog Totally right. Part of it is because he started out on guitar and then switched to bass when Stu decided to stay in Hamburg, leaving them without a bassist.

Then when Ringo said "it means hes melodic", Pauls face was like "OHOHO, SNAP."
If I was walking down the street and saw Paul, I DEFINITELY do/say something more than "thanks for the music it saved my life" unless, of course, he was in a hurry... though, why would he walk if he was in a hurry?
i love how paul and ringo can brighten up any drab and dull question larry throws to them. everyone of their responses has someone to make me smile or laugh. so cute.
You can see what an awfull interwivever ( in lack of better word ) Larry King is, e.g when he ask them why they keep doing what they do cause they got all the money they need and Ringo ask him the same question and Larry just jabb something out. He is also rude to them and dosent keep track on his information, its so stupid how he calls Ringo George earlier and then get angry at Paul for pointing it out and hit him. Hes just.. just and idiot! dont have any kharisma at all just flat out boring.
It's great how Paul says, "I think the bass was terrific too," then looks at Ringo, waiting for him to agree and praise Paul, but when Ringo doesn't, he just repeats himself with "I think the bass was good as well," putting extra emphasis on "as well" still waiting for Ringo to comment. So sweet.
Ringo: "And he is still the most melodic bass-player on the planet."
Larry: "What does that mean?"
Ringo: "It means he's melodic."
HAHAHA. Then, the kick that Paul gets out of that joke was really funny, and he just looks at Larry as if to say, "This brilliant man has a point about that dashing bass-player. ;)"
Oh, come on guys. Give Larry a break. It was great to see Paul and Ringo on his show. Larry's just trying to draw them out and make conversation. Larry King you suck , I can almost understand you slipping and calling Ringo George if your on your way out (mind wise) but even then , were talking The Beatles , I mean you must be approaching idiocy , but the way you cut Paul off was uncalled for , got out of the interview business , your shot ,,, retire .

This should be required viewing for all celebrities. It could be called, "How to handle tactless, inappropriate interview questions with utter class" Ringo, with his perfunctory "she's great" (no elaboration), and Paul's kind but clear, "I don't talk about it..." are just classic. They stil define "cool"! I love it.

dont agree. firstly widow twanky is not a nasty character at all. Ringo used it as a term of affection or as a little gag. there are no issues between yoko and ringo. they all seemed to get on very well which is the best thing about these clips because larry king is bloody awful
Watch the exchange beginning at about 5:33. Ringo says, "yeah, The Widow Twankey," and Paul laughs. Larry is oblivious. The Widow Twankey is a British pantomime character- a nasty female character, the part played by a man. A clear shot at Yoko which most, progbably including Yoko, missed. But Paul obviously got it. Take a look and see if you don't agree. And search for "widow twankey" and "pantomime dame" online to see what I'm referring to.
I did look it up and I think you may be right. Definitely a little pot shot at Yoko. Paul was quite amused! Why else would Ringo have mentioned that? They've obviously still got a little resentful baggage left over for Yoko but, they also have moved beyond that, it was so long ago, and can be civilized with one another now.
I have to agree with you, only because of what I saw on the "Gala Premiere of The Beatles' LOVE by Cirque du Soleil®" video. Watch about 4:47 when Ringo begins beating on the prop drums, and then Yoko quickly followed suit. Ringo looks SOOOO annoyed with her. Look at his body language.
"He's the most melodic bass player in the world." "What does that mean?" "It means he's melodic." Paul's reaction to that... makes me so happy to see them smiling and laughing.
