I'm looking for classic stories that have been converted to anime by the Japanese. For example, Peter Pan has an anime version called "Peter Pan no Bouken" or "Peter Pan no Boken" .

I don' think anime really is confined to any specific genre, the style of art is from asia, but the stories themselves aren't limited to just eastern style ones.

You should check out "Record of Lodoss War", which was one of the anime they used in this trailer.
