  • Wow.

  • @ClaudinesWorld- Do something better if you're so classy and talented.

  • @ClaudinesWorld That's what the cmommentator says in this video. She's got angry at Alina's performance. Maybe at its choreography, too. I can't get all of their words, because these are cut.

  • Ouaaaaaaaaaaaa! Pas mal du tout!!

  • Utterly flamboyant, coquettish, playful, coy, flirtatious. She dances this piece with an extraordinary maturity. At 15, her dancing here, is almost perfect, danced by a true genius. It is only possible for a dancer born with exceptional talent. The dance is almost contemporary, humorous and funny with total abandonment. One sees Rumanian girls' gymnastic heritage. She tumbles backwards effortlessly, Jumps high with two legs totally split airborne. Footwork is swift, nimble, feather-light.

  • uau , linda demais

  • i LOVE THIS! i 'd like to see her do it now to see what new twists she does on it!!

  • She just successfuly gave everyone behind her a very serios stomachache.

  • what the name of this music ?

  • love her to bits and love her here too but I felt the variation was a bit too gymnastic-like...

  • that was AMAZING!! you were still so in control tho u had to be wild.

  • its amazing how shes transfomed into what she is today! i love her!

  • THIS IS SUPER AMAZING!

  • I love this (:

  • I just saw her in Giselle at ABT i cried, her grace is amazing. I think she is the best dancer in the world right now.

  • Who would imagine that the girl living upstairs will become first balerina. Thas is a romanian dream (one of few): the girl from a simple family and a harsh neigbourhood becomes a star!!! And what a star!

Romanians, wake up and cherish your true values

  • @vladutz76

    You made me tear of happiness ; w ;

  • cojucaretho?

  • kojucaretho?

  • Do you know the name of the music, please ?

  • does anybody know, whats the name of this beatiful composition...thanx in forward..:)))))

  • its gym ballet lol

  • although it's not perfect,it's impressive

  • Haha, I can see Alina was in the transition from a gymnast to a ballerina.

  • whoa that is verrrrrry cool. i love the dance

  • i can watch it a thousand time, to the point where i every single step, but i wont get sick of it!

    i love this dance~

  • Funny and really unique. She put a smile on my face with this performance. Thank you Alina.

  • I'm a huge Cojocaru fan! But this isn't my favorite routine, it's the choreography. I understand it's supposed to be free/loose, but I just wish it was less acrobatic and alternated the "crazy" movements with steps that had sharp precision. I feel like the end result would have been more impressive if they'd done that. I feel like this routine is all over the place (I guess that's the point.) Anyway, the judges liked it and she's one of the world's top dancers, so I guess I can't complain!

  • amazing! i like how it's a bit different than a regular variation with a tutu

  • adorable

  • wow!

  • This is pure magic =)

  • THIS IS AMAZING!!!

  • 1:16! oh my god hahaha

  • AMAZING! I am also fifteen and in comparison I feel like an amature trying to dance. She is beautiful. Not only at ballet she is able to tumble in point shoes. That is extremely hard to do!

  • shes not only showing she can dance but also showing how strong and flexible she is.

  • She makes me feel so talentless...yet all I want to do is put her in my pocket.

  • Watching this, I'm thinking that I've been doing nothing comparing to her and I'm 15 myself. Bravo, Alina, thank you for all you've done! And making not only me, but so many people, proud to be Romanian!

  • I love the commentators at the end, not being able to hide their surprise: oh la la la laa!!!! xD I don't understand the language but I understand they are surprised by this young talent.

  • best ballet solo EVER!

  • It's so amazing that even then, at 15, she had amazing stage presense and acting skills. Not many teenagers do. Does anybody know what she did for her classical piece?

  • @SuperBalletgirl101 she did Tchaikovsky pas de deux

  • @ballettina It's to bad that's not on youtube

  • i watch this video EVERY TIME i go on youtube.

  • 15 are a difficult age...Still love Alina nowadays!

  • She's got such stage presence...even then! Always captivating.

  • loved it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Is this a real ballet, or just a solo piece made up for her

  • ..usa quelle punte come se ci fosse nata...!brava!

  • this is genious

  • Ummm, I'm not sure if I like Alina in this, obviously it's very good, but it just doesn't seem to suit her style. I would never have thought that this was her if it hadn't been written!

But perhaps it is just because I am used to her 'style' now, her sensitivity in roles like Giselle or Aurora...

    *shrug*

  • This is really cool. I don't know anything about ballet, but this is really cool.

  • this is so cool.

  • i don't like the variation but i love alina!

  • incredibile la nostra alina!!!!!!!!!! fantastica cm sempre

  • That was so fun and creative, I loved watching it!

  • FAVORITE BALLERINA EVER.

  • wow thats very different to most of the ballet iv seen, i hope she continues to do well with her ballet.

  • @cjgardnerhomes ya shes been doing pretty well LOL

  • does anyone know the name of that piece of music??

  • it's a tango called " hola guapa"

  • pour josé!

  • ha I found this comical. Very good she transformed into the character!

  • i love this variation!!!!!! it looks so fun, it makes me wanna learn it, and put my own flair in it!!

  • OMG soo Cute

  • that was sooo cool! *watches again*

  • She surely improved in a few years!!!!!!!!

  • who would have believe this charismatic and amazing girl would become one of the best dancers? I think not even Alina had ever imagine it, but it's true, it's amazing how she improve, she's a dancer you really HAVE to admire and love, she's totally beautiful, her career at the Royal is amazing, she has done a lot, and her dancing is alive and smooth and amazing. BRAVO alina, she has give SO MUCH to the dance world only with her charismatic prescense.

  • 0_0........................

  • this is originaly!!!...and she is very good dancer!!!!amazing !!!!

  • That was AMAZING! *watches a second time*

  • i love how she's wearing pointe shoes but her transitions are so seamless you barely even notice that they're there.

  • wow. that was great. Her technique is awesome, the choreography is unbelievable, and I like the idea of a girl dancing with a sword.

  • catchy & cute :P

  • she a dancer or a gymnastic???

    haha

    xD

  • Well she was a gymnast until she was around 7 I think

  • Now this is truly what i could agree is contemporary without too many "tricks" like all the YAGP kids trying to whack their heads with their legs.

  • Comment removed

  • i would've been scared to dance with the pointy sword! hehe (:

  • it's stunning that a girl my age could be so incredible!

it takes so much talent to pull of something "clumsy" and have it be so graceful! if someone less gifted tried it would end up looking messy, but not her!

  • She was exceptional, even then. You don't find kids with her kind of stage presence now, not to mention that gift for making you keep your eyes superglued to her till she's done the very last bow.

  • shes good!

  • Doesn't this give hope to anyone else? In this, she has such stage presence (lots and lots and lots, she's adorable,) and jumps and flexibility, but she doesn't have the best turn-out (I know certain things are supposed to be turned-in but I mean transitions and things,) and have nearly as gorgeous feet as she does now.

This isn't a negative comment! This is a positive one! I am happy!

  • Did she end up winning?

  • yea

  • Comment removed

  • muuuuy original magnifico!!

  • this dance is so cute!!! it reminds me of a three musketeer sort of thing, it would be really cool if someone made a three musketeer ballet ( if they haven't already )

  • Actually there is a 3 Mussketter ballet. The Northern Ballet Theatre in the UK premiered it a few years ago!

  • @CodeGeassgirl123 Actually the Northern Ballet Theatre in the UK have a ballet on the Muskateers in their rep!

  • i freakin love her costume!!!

  • wow..i didnt know they did this kind of stuff at the Prix

  • So charmingly charismatic!

    :)

  • even now she's still doing awesome! You guys should check out some of her more recent performances.

  • maybe even some live ones, if you can

  • Amazing! And sooo funny !

  • its awesome!

  • I don't like this coreography. Don't know, it's so boyish, it bothers me... But Alina Cojocaru is wonderful, of course.

  • wow y era re chiquita encima! genial! la vi cuando vino a Argentina a bailar Lago y me fascinó!

Pero esa coreografía me parece muy, muy fea, la verdad, es más gimnsia artística que ballet :S

  • Hey everyone! If you love ballet as much as I do, then take a moment to go to my channel and click the link for my blog on the info bar! It's about anything and everything that has to do with dancing!

  • I love this. It looks so silly. ;)

  • excelent!

  • she's one of a kind... I love her

  • excelent!!

  • are you special? thats the point.

  • I have to say I liked it, it was full of character.

  • also remember that this was 10 years pre her prime

  • are you special?

    it;s a free dance.

  • she won the prix, so obviously the judges like it! It shows off Alina's dancing technique, ability to play with the music, to act, to let go of herself, to be an entertainer, and a dancer who is open to different styles and dance types.

  • really nice and sweet

  • AMAZING 8O

  • I like this! ... She has ,cute and interesting ballet !

  • she was so cute. this has sort of given me hope that she wasn't some beast or anything.

  • Is the guy at the beginning speaking japanese? o:

That girl is gooood. *bows down*

  • Yes, it is japanese

  • This dance isn't her style at all, she is so much better in romantic era dances. But she is flexible!

  • Wow, so wonderful - watch out for that sword!

  • Shes amazing.

  • Ah, lovely Alina, cute girl!!

  • trop beau

la musique et la danse sont génial!

    bravo!

    j'adooore

  • i love it! she makes the acro look good with the ballet! maybe to much swaying motion? really cool though!

  • ok that was good but reeaaallyy funnyy

  • she is one of the best dancers, and she can more than just ballet

  • Adorable performer!!!

  • Such an excellent performer as well as dancer, even then! I'm so disappointed, I bought tickets to see her in Swan Lake tomorrow with Johan Kobborg, but she's pulled out! I hope her injury (I think it's because of her neck injury) gets better.

  • lol she looked older then! I love her she is my fav dancer and my idol!!!!

  • I fence AND have been dancing my whole life...so this video just about completed my life.

  • she was an amazing performer even then

  • BRAVISSIMA!!!

and as always...she's got an adorable stage presence!

  • TOPISSIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I like it!!!

  • i love those little flat-footed landings!

    so cute

  • now i wanna have a contempary dance to this music and call it dartagnan!!!!!!!11 its so cute!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • I think maybe having done gymnastics when she was a little kid helped some with the more gymnastics moves. When she was a gymnast she was taught by Bela Karoly. She was also in the same kindergarden class as Nadia Comanec. Really cool.

  • I thought Cojocaru was 27? How could she have been in the same kindergarten class as Nadia?

  • I read it in one of the gymnastics autobiography books. I think it was the one that doubled with Mary Lou Retton. You would have to read Bela's side of the book. My copy is in storage on the other side of the country so I can't just pull out to double check the names.

  • trust me alina is 27 and nadia is 44 (or so) you do the math.

  • that was so cool!

  • way cool dance,

but too much gymnastics for a ballet competion if you ask me....talended though

  • not really cause she entered it contempary and in that division you can do watever shows off your strong points

  • fun dance.

ww she has great stage presence

  • this is my favorite video on youtube now!

  • she is so cute in that!

  • great!!and cute

  • she has so much style it's great to watch!

  • she is so good! at only 15! my god. perfect. she was obviously born with tremendous talent even at a young age.

  • I love Alina. Its amazing to think how successful she already is and how many leads she has had and she is only 26 today. But looking at her at 15, I guess its not that surprising.

  • I wish somebody knew what this music is! Nobody seems to be sure. perhaps it is a medley or something, but the same theme is throughout the whole piece so I don't know. Anyhow... Alina is amazing! She is so adorable! And only 15 too! Wow!

  • i know the name of the music

  • Well... could you... tell me.... PLEASE? lol

  • music is a tango to be exact - Tango Olé Guapa - recently done by Andre Reiu - this particular one is an old arrangement -

not sure who does it but i am sure if you search - Tango Olé Guapa - you will find it or somthing similar

  • yes i found something very similar! thanks so much :)

  • This reminds of Audrey Hepburn and my fair lady.....odd.

  • This is a very cool dance.

  • Felicitari!! este o variatie foarte foarte frumoasa!!!:X:X:X

As vrea sa fac si eu o variatie ca aceasta!!:X:X:X=))

  • Little did she know that she would later be one of the most famous ballet stars currently today!

  • This piece is so cool and she performed it with so much character!! But I don't like it as a competition piece because it showcases more of her acting and flexibility than her technique. She is adorable though!

  • i'd probably end up poking myself with the sword...

    x

  • holy shit!

  • I love the idea! That was something different:D

  • I love her bow that was cute

  • Holy SHIT! Backhandsprings in pointe shoes!

  • only she could pull this off

  • what is this music. and i loved the choreography.....maybe not the idea but the choreography was good

  • she is a great dancer, but i hated the coreography!

  • wow. so she did gymnastics before?

  • Yeah...then she moved on to ballet

  • Really cute! She's awesome, and only fifteen! I love Alina Cojocaru. I liked the pose at the end too; what a flexible back she must have!

  • Choreography is pretentious, trying to be funny. Drunk D'Artagnan on pointe.

However, nothing can spoil this dancer - she is natural.
