  • Hey! You were on the Vista Signing Naturally dvd I got with my ASL curriculum! neat!

  • I enjoyed your comments on creating original ASL content to match with English content. I think that's the point, right? Not follow English grammar but have ASL content in ASL in Deaf way. Can I show your vlog to people I'm working with on developing ASL health content to match English health content?

  • @Deafhoodismysavior agree Harlan Lane rocks...and so is everybody else! smile

  • OH MY STARRRRRRRRR! I was fall in love with ur song of THREE BLIND MICE. It really very CREATIVE. I love song in 1970's with ASL like Three Blind Mice and NTD.... I love it... =] You look so so so SEXY and awesome,.. =] BTW, I love your wesbite and support of ASL.

  • @V2Hill ha. Thanks for your comment. Me too enjoy the rhythms but definitely not satisfied with the translation/ASL part itself. I've seen a lot of improvement in this area and look forward to more.

  • oh, u sing... yea, u right mostly in english order except CL... still hard to believe its you... in 75's, still awesome... i was fortune enough to be involved with spectum in my hometown...since i start video myself few years ago, i have see change in me... but some of them i use english and others in mixed asl/pse... other than that, it s awesome video of u... thankful for vhs... thank you for showing it to us...

  • @TSLlife2 Hey, TSLife2! wow long time no contact. Thanks for dropping by this comment. Wow, you experienced Spectrum too? I did go for a week during a summer. Was a marvelous experience. Definitely Spectrum is part of our journey to be better ASL presenters and Deaf artists.

  • Smiles language grow within us!

  • @wcmithaug definitely!

  • Ella - so happy u posted this up. Marie Philips is so adorable with her hip keeping the beat. I was thinking it would be cool to have a string of youtubes - folks making up a Deaf sign song w/ an agreed upon chorus - all ASL originally. ASLized has this concept but via story telling not a song. they have a story going and ask folks to add on "what happens next" but maybe we can start a Deaf song / chant type of thingy. Biggest thanks for putting this here. This history is part of ourstory

  • @pdurr cool idea about developing the "chorus". Believe Paddy Ladd has a couple of "songs" with chorus at the back of Understanding Deaf Culture. Yes, in English that we still need to translate, but believe it was written with signing in mind. See see. Yeah, I thought it cool what ASLized is doing with stringing pieces of different people creating "what happens next". Thanks for adding your great ideas.

  • Awesome Vlog especially you showed the classic video! Language which is still alive always change and improved in a time. ASL is really alive and definitely is not dead language. Thorough years as I am alive, I see ASL is changing as other languages.

  • @rshartist very true that to be a "live" language, it has to grow and change....but in the case of an "oppressed" language, we need to be wary and serious about which changes to embrace and which to resist, you know? Yes, there have been some marvelous changes so I m indeed hopeful which I believe you are too.

  • LONG LIVE ASL !

Very interesting video and your same.

  • Enjoy your vlog! Thank you for sharing it with us.

  • @deafwantstoknow awesome

  • I remember I helped some interpreters to translate from English to ASL for sing songs. I always asked them what these words mean. because some words confused me sometime when they sing a song, not same as English when hearing people talk. So different meanings. They explained them to me what mean. I understood then I translated a lot of words for singing songs. Pretty tough, but good experience.

  • @jj3dartist hi! yes, I had similar experiences during my Deafhood journey with ASL, and translating English into ASL...naturally, the more experience and education you have, the better quality of teaching/tutoring/consulting we provide. Good luck!
