  • I am new to silk screening and I am having trouble washing my emulsion away. The emulsion will bubble ruining the design or the design will start to fall off. Is this due to a lack of light or is the emulsion not able to fully grip the screen? Any tips would help and be greatly appretiated

  • @porsenora This could be under exposure or poor emulsion to mesh adhesion. Under exposure can cause the emulsion to become saturated with water prematurely in the washout booth. That will cause you to easily reuse parts of your stencil and bubbling as well. Poor mesh adhesion can also cause bubbling and it could be a combination of these. Try prepping your screens better before coating them with emulsion and try increasing your exposure time a bit. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment! ☠

  • Ive pretty much watched all your videos on screen printing here. By far the best on YouTube. All the emulsions I find are two part. What brand do you use in this video that seems to be a one part?

  • @thallium200 Thank you very much. I’m happy to hear you like my videos best. Yes, this is a photopolymer which is pre sensitized. Textil PC or PV form SaatiChem is what I normally use. You can find them at a discount on the Catspit website using a promo code. Link is on the channel page and in the video description. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment! ☠

  • what is the cheapest brand of emulsion and how much would shipping be to the uk?

thanks catspit......you rule and rock.....whichever you prefere

  • @OldDirtyRetard I really don’t know what the cheapest emulsion on the market is. And as far as shipping to the U.K. It wouldn’t be economically practical I think for just a little emulsion. The shipping is likely to cost more than the emulsion. Thanks for watching & commenting! ☠

  • hi im richard head and i enjoy this video...thanks much

  • I ALSO CLEAN THE SCOOP COATER WITH A DEGREASER

  • @MEXICANMADESTWR That may be good. You can also use emulsion remover to clean the scoop coater too. It will help get any dried emulsion off of it. Thanks for watching and commenting!

Im glad to help out in any way. Feel free to ask questions anytime. Thanks for watching my videos and visiting the website.

  • hey thanks for making these videos they are very useful. one minor question. I'm about to degrease my first screen but I'm worried that the brush I'm using is too hard and that it could damage the screen. How hard should a brush be? should it be more like a dust brush or like these brushes on a stick that are used for washing dishes? Thanks, keep it up.

  • You are welcome. Thanks for watching. A plastic bristle hand brush or a dish scouring pad should be fine. Just use appropriate pressure for the hardness of the brush if you are concerned. Thanks for the comment!

  • hi catspitProduction, im one of your avid fan and enthusiast of your very infromative video, all info was ther in your educational video that helps like me, could you please show also how to make screen? im not very familliar about mounting the mesh on the screen(aluminum scree) how would you mount that perfectly..it's edgar from manila ,philippines..please reply asap..thanks bro..

  • Thank Edgar! I am glad you enjoy the videos. I actually buy my screens pre-stretched with mesh. I get them from a wholesaler so it is economical for me. They are not too expensive these days. So I cannot really do a video on it just yet. Maybe I will visit another shop and make a screen making video someday. Ill try to cover everything eventually. Thanks for the comment!

  • You're very thorough and you take a lot into consideration. Thank you

  • Youre welcome. I try. Thank you very much. Thanks for watching!

  • Check out my website for information that supports and supplements the videos.

  • I really enjoyed this, would you please rename the vids in order? Part 1,2,3 etc... so we don't have to search around and hope we get the process in the correct order. It would really help us, and you will get more views. Thanks, man. ;-)

  • Im glad you enjoy my videos and find them useful. The names of the videos tell you what you will learn about. I try to make them and post them in a logical sequential order. These videos are very hard to make, (I do them by myself), and I try to make each one independent of the others so that you may gain something useful in one video. The first video, How To Screen Print: The Process Explained, contains the sequence of the entire process. Thanks for the comment!

  • correction... i meant "emulsion"

  • hey

im thinking about starting to screen print

but im not aware of all the terms and meanings

    like "emursion" for example

can anyone help me out with some key terms and stuff like that... thanx

  • In the more info sidebar for every how to video I make there is a glossary of terms. The glossary of terms for my videos is all in one place on my website too. There are also articles on screen printing as well as tips and advice. This section of my website will be changing and growing as I find new and useful educational items for it. Go to my channel page and click the link for my WEBSITE in the channel description area. Then click the Tips & Advice or YouTube Glossary tabs...

  • so... if i want to print some posters.. i use another emulsion? or the same one? what about the ink? same or other one?

what do u think about instant emulsions?

i have the blue emulsion that when u mix up it comes green but... lately ive been hiting the walls cause when i rinse off for the film to come up... the emulsion comes off because is very weak... am i mixing it up wrong? wich emulsion u recomend?

    fredo.

  • If you want to print posters, all you need to change is your ink. I think an air dry water based ink would work well on heavy paper stock. Not sure what you mean by instant emulsion. If you mean pre- sensitized, that is what I use. Your emulsion may be washing off for any of a number of reasons. Maybe under cured? Or having trouble adhering to a dirty screen? Or is it not mixed properly or old? It is very difficult to diagnose these problems without seeing what is going on.

  • I Dont Have A Room with low intensity light to print or dry my screens what would you suggest? different emulsion?

  • You can use any room with subdued light. The bathroom, a large closet or the kitchen in the evening. As for drying, you could do it late at night and store in a closet or you could make a drying case from 2X4s and plywood. Just make sure the case has enough ventilation for the emulsion to dry properly.

  • Hi ... I'm a french guy and I watch your video this afternoon. It's very great and its help me a lot, 'cause i've started the art of screen printing since a few month. So thank you for your work and I hope to see more HOW TO by CATSPIT Prod ... Bye (sorry for the mistakes) x x x IANIK x x x

  • Cool...Thanks for the comment. Good luck!

  • wow! very interesting. Is there a specific type of mesh you use for this?

  • Yes. It is a polyester screen mesh made specifically for screen printing. Thanks for the comment, I'm glad you enjoyed the video.

  • Screen printing is so expensive to start, its shocking.

  • It can be. But there are many deals out there especially in used equipment.

  • Hey there, Great looking channel, I love this kind of video, I am defently looking forward to seeing more. Take a look at mine if you would like to and subscribe and I will be doing the same keep up the awsome work 5/5 stars for this video for sure

PS: How is the mesh attached to the frame ? :P

  • Thanks! The mesh is attached to the metal frame by an ahesive or "glue".

  • another good video. keep it up

  • Glad you liked it. Thanks for the comment!

  • You make a great instructor. Very interesting video.

  • Thank you.

  • Very good video.

Where do you buy your mesh?

I looking for an online shop that just sells rolls of mesh. Any sites you can buy it of for a decent price and that ships to the uk or is in the uk.

    Cheers good job.
