I saw this in July 2007 with this exact cast, it was great, and the 3 women playing the air stewardesses were abosolutley sexy and gorgeous - especially Elena Roger who I want to marry! (the one dressed in blue).
It was a beautiful hot summer and we had a brilliant 4 day trip to the great city of London, and watching this brings back sweet memories of it.
what night did you see it? I was there on friday. Baranski's standby went on..at 1st her accent was a bit difficult to follow..but much superior to one not Pearlman
I saw it Saturday on Broadway and it was brilliant! It really is an all-star cast. Christine Beranski, Missi Pyle, Paige Davis, and Rebecca Gayheart...HILARIOUS! Especially Christine and Missi. I haven't laughed that hard in a long time...but watching this clip, I was bored out of my mind.
Just saw the Broadway production this evening (August 1st) with the original cast and it was hysterical, sexy, and silly beyond. Mary McCormick is a revelation as Gretchen (In yellow) and NOTHING like the Gretchen in this clip. She stole the show - and everyone was fantastic. This clip is limper than a wet noodle, but the broadway show is a must see.
FUNNY!! Just saw it at the Longacre Theatre. The cast was awesome. Like what the others commentaries here said, the clip here does not give it justice. I loved the Alitalia uniform the best. Highly recommendable to see.
i love the west end in london, and have seen some fantastic productions - but i have to say, this trailer for the london revival looks as if it PALES in comparison to the recent broadway revival. if you get a chance to see this show on broadway - DO IT!!
This video, made whilst Rhea Pearlman was being rehearsed in the "empty" theatre, cannot portray the "liveliness" of the "live" performances. I saw the show twice, under two almost totally different casts (one actress in common) and the Director had "tinkered" with the directions, which speeded up some scenes, I think that he had realised that Rhea Pearlman had been slightly miscast and those who saw it, especially the two-handed scenes between Robert and Bertha, will know what I mean.
Just saw the show on B'way tonight and it was BRILLIANT- this clip doesn't even begin to do the play justice. Plus it's an entirely different cast....
I just saw this on Broadway on Saturday, May 24. It was absolutely brilliant, hysterically funny and as broad as comedy can get. I laughed so hard and it was an amazing cast. This current production has 7 Tony nominations, and derves them all! GO SEE IT!!!
I so wish I lived in america so that i could watch the wonderful Bradley Whitford in this -I think he will be amazing he is so funny, sexy and charming - I think he will be perfect
Since I "have reason to" beleive that Amy reads these; Good Luck in Cabaret, I can't imagine what it must be like to rehearse a lead role like that AND continue in "Boeing Boeing" as well. (Amy plays "Sally Bowles" from 2nd October 2007. Doesn't this girl ever take a holiday! (joke!)
But, as u say...the chemistry between the characters, and most importantly, the comic timing, isnt the same. I felt like things were rushed a lot but I suppose thats their way of doing it. Was weird seeing a completely different cast, but very interesting too!
I saw it first (and another few times *lol*) with the original Bertha (frances de la tour) and original gloria (tamzin outhwaite) and it was deff the best! I must admit tho...I was a bit weird at first when they got replaced by Patricia and Amy but I totally grew to love them and I think they were fab!!! The cast now...well I must say if its ur first time seeing it its fa-bu-lous!
I first saw Roger Allam, Mark Rylance, Patricia Hodge, Daisy, Michelle and Amy Nuttall. (Being a MAJOR fan of Amy, I'll admit bias there!) but I go along with you on the other points; Mark Rylance's wide-eyed innocence to Roger Allam's smugness was a joy to behold, then the point scoring between Mark and Patricia. This was equalled by Michelle's first "terrifying" appearance. Amy's description of the new engines was cute, sexy and very funny and all in the space of two minutes.
Watch out, Cast changes ahead. Jennifer Ellison takes over the role of "Gloria" from the truly beautiful Amy Nuttall (did anyone notice any biased comments there!) on 1st October. Kevin McNally replaces Adrian Dunbar.
Saw this film today ^^ cost £10 from lastminute. com. such a funny film and easily one of the best i've seen. Robert Castin is my favourite! I highly recommend this play to anyone looking for a good laugh.
I've got a vague recollection that I've watched a movie like this.
In the end the flight companies were introducing newer, faster airplanes and then things got messed up because the girls schedule were overlapping and the guy had trouble keeping from knowing about each other.
Is that the same thing?
And does anyone knows the name of the film I am talking about?
This classic French farce by Marc Camoletti has been adapted for film FOUR times: a French version in 1960, an American version with Tony Curtis and Jerry Lewis in 1965, a 1985 version in the Southern Indian language of Malayalam, and a Hindi version in 2005.
Excellent play. The whole cast is wonderful, Elena is fantastic. We have been to see it and if you are in London it's a "must". Any Elena fan's out there, visit a new Yahoo group dedicated to her.
Well, I have to agree, the play is absolutely fantastic. I've been twice to the theatre. The entire cast performs brilliantly and the girls are just hilarious.
Aw, thats very sweet! Well me and my friend met her when she was in Evita, and now we go to see her at The Comedy Theatre {Boeing Boeing}. We have her email address and stuff, going to see her again next week.
Shall I pass on a message from you? =] She'd love it!
Aww! That's so lovely! Yup, she would of got your letter! =] She was off ill on Saturday because she had lost her voice, but she's back now =] So expect a reply soon!

Current Broadway cast is much much stronger...esp the maid Berthe (Rhea Pearlman? give me a break)..and the German stewardess on Broadway is genius.
