  • Second hardest level in the game. Hardest level? Check out Convergence.

  • Holy fuck. That's some hard shit.

  • @Matrixandraia when did you initially finish EDF 2017?

And also how come since you defeated every level on Inferno, why didn't

you post a video of you testing out the Genocide Gun?

  • @EarthDefenceInferno I originally finished in June 2009. I made the video set to prove a point to myself - that I was good enough to finish completely solo. I thought I saw another person had made a video of the Genocide Gun. In any case, I've never used it or seen it in action, so I don't know its effects.

  • This isn't the hardest level on inferno. The hardest level on inferno to the majority of EDF players is actually "Starship". This is because they don't use your tactic matrix. I managed to do this level with only 5000 armor.

  • @EarthDefenceInferno Congratulations on that. I got wiped out every single time I played this stage with 6900 armor. Hence the armor farming. Starship was rough too - I kept trying to do the dual Lysander Z tactic and I'd get killed really fast. All that mattered to me though was soloing the game. =)

  • @matrixandraia yeah, have you tried using the duel Lysander Z tactic on Spearhead? I have tried it and it works brilliantly, but you have to be fast, experienced and you cant be spotted by rogue ants or spiders and the occasional robot

  • @EarthDefenceInferno God no! I've only ever used ZEXR turrets and the Lysander Z or AF100. I can guarantee that if I did dual Lysander Zs I'd meet a quick death in that stage.

  • @matrixandraia It is possible and I guarentee you try it, because you have allies to help you and you have vehicles. I find shotguns in this game pretty much useless, apart from the Bound Shot which is an exception. The best levels for farming i reckon for armour is definatly Wrath or Inferno on a lower difficulty.

The best levels for getting every weapon is Mission 40 (Return) on Inferno. you can get every weapon there except the Lysander Z.

  • @EarthDefenceInferno I farmed this stage on Normal with the AF100 for Armor - that's how I went from the 6000s to over 9000. So many hours just spent standing in front of the lone UFO I'd left alive, shooting ants and picking up their drops. Damn. Also, yes, I did weapon farming back in 2009 in missions 40 and 46.

  • @matrixandraia the Genocide gun does a whopping 1 million damage with a 6km range!

it cannot destroy however UFO's, Dino Mechs, The Walking Fortress or the Mothership. It only damages the bugs, gunships and the robots. so basically its a pointless gun. u can see me do a video playing with the genocide gun on my channel if u want. Keep up the progress in EDF:IA!!!

  • @EarthDefenceInferno Wow. I'll take a look at the Genocide Gun later on then. As for EDF: IA, the grind for Daddy Warbugs is coming along nicely.

  • @matrixandraia please check out my channel, every bit of support helps. My video quality may not be up to high quality but i invite everyone to come and check out my channel. I HAVE A GENOCIDE GUN VIDEO!!!

and also, what filming program do you use to film your games, matrix?

  • @matrixandraia hey man, can you tell me when you will be making a walkthrough series of EDF:IA?

and will you be playing co-op or single player? personally i think you should play multiplayer because this game is really meant for more than 1 player. Inferno difficulty will be a challenge... do you think that this game is harder than 2017?

  • @EarthDefenceInferno I've been playing R-Type at the moment, so I'm not done with EDF:IA. The plan is to play solo, but that's dependent on how difficult the stages are. I think right now that I can manage all that I've played alone, but I've only gone as far as 2-5 so far. Not sure when I'll attempt or record, because I still have to grind out a few more hundred thousand for some weapons.

  • *twitches*

Soon we'll be doing this again. Against fewer, but faster, stronger bugs, balanced to be challenging for even up to three human players. o_o

    *is afraid*

  • @Vamphaery And I can't wait. You should send me a FR so we can hook up and play IA on Inferno together when it comes out!!

  • humans sure are awsome

  • why not use the genocide gun?

  • @ThEMolDYtacoZ I wanted to use the regular weapons so that people would have an idea of how to handle the stages. Not that I'm great or anything, but I didn't want to cheat.

  • Your plan is very good good job .

  • You are a goddamn saint.

  • @scornedhatred Thank the good folks at GameFAQs for coming up with this strategy then. It wasn't in a FAQ, it was in a long EDF Inferno topic that someone made discussing various strategies for the stages. This was the absolute best for mission 52. But thank you all the same. =)

  • There is a better, albeit slower, strategy for this mission: C70 + Cascade 2. It works great for Wrath (mission 48) as well. I managed to 100% the game with less than 5500 health and without needing the Lysander Z (mission 43 was a pain, though), so for those who don't to farm armour for hours may want to consider it.

I got the inspiration from your final mission strategy, so if it weren't for your video I'd never been able to clear Starship single player without much grinding. Mant thanks!

  • @SFKosmo Glad it helped. I never considered using a rocket launcher in this stage because you get overrun so fast, although if you're making yourself invincible from knockdown... Still, I couldn't make that work for me. But it's something worth considering. =)

  • @matrixandraia The trick is keeping your allies alive, otherwise you can't kill the gunships. You need to press forward ASAP, let yourself be overrun, drop 1 C70, fire 1 rocket to your feet (only 200 damage), detonate C70. Keep doing this far from your allies, so they don't die due to the Hectors' plasma cannons. For 2nd wave, defeat the initial charge by yourself as before, then retreat to your allies as soon as it's safe and bring down the UFOs with the Cascade while the allies do the rest.

  • This game is EPIC :P Split Screen, lysander and dude arm by arm fighting with aliens ! absolute, pure fun. Graphic is not important.

  • Man I dunno how you pull this off so well. Once the turrets give out, I'm getting shot up so much I can barely move.

  • @BumperHelicopters Honestly, some of it is luck dependent. The Lysander Z is a must as well. Also, having a ton of armor is a necessity because there's no way you can avoid getting attacked and shot. Like I said, the enemy forgoes any kind of tactics and just decides to swarm you.

  • This is the prequel to Red faction Guerilla lol

  • why does the captain always die,lol

  • this game is awesome isn't it? I miss it

  • I always thought it would be cool if they put in three vallaks in this level. That would make this level near impossible.

  • Good job. It took me a long time to complete this mission on inferno with my friend. We both are very good at this game, but you make this alone!?!? Awesome! You got good plan to complete this map. And i am going to try it!

  • Fucking hell, just finished it, and the only thing left is wrath. Thanks for the help.

  • Five stars

    GG

  • nice hehe
