The Prelude is exquisitely presented, and I love what she does with it - it's just perfect.
The Fugue is another matter. I absolutely hate it when a pianist (or for that matter, any musician) feels a need to rush hectically what they are presenting but unfortunately that is a trend that is with us today. That Fugue has far more to offer and would be heard clearly if only a pianist (or harpsichordist or whatever) would present it in a more relaxed manner, allowing us to savor its qualites.
I love Angela Hewitt's JS Bach interpretations. They take JS Bach out of the realm of mechanincal emotionless music and plant them firmly back in the category of music that you can love. After listening to Hewitt play Bach, I find it very difficult to listen to certain other pianists whose interpretations are little more than playing the paino as though it were a harpsichord.
Bach would have rejoiced if he'd had a Bosendorfer, Bechstein, Steinway, Faziolli, etc.
extraordinary posting of all 48 preludes and fugues of the Well Tempered Clavier, colossal work of that genius , the Leipzig Kantor Johann Sebastian Bach, superb
So I think as Glenn Gould he lost his mind or something. I like this performance more than the one Gould humms along to.

all these videos are great! crystal clear interpretation... but why does she keep interrupting herself during her opening comments?

@rustyturnbuckle
It's not her interrupting herself It's the result of the edit.
