  • Honda should have Focus countered more. But he did way better than I ever could. It's easier to say shit than do it I suppose.

  • Great play by both players! Akimo played very well and patiently, not many mistakes against Daigo. I don't think Daigo hit him once with his ultra! Love Honda's Ultra as well, especially since it can go through fireballs! SF4 also makes it much easier to jump straight up over fireballs for wide characters, such as Honda and Zangief. This balances the game much more for non-fireball characters compared to past SF series of games! Love it!

  • Honda needs his EX Headbutt to have projectile negating properties. I hope they implement this in Super 4.

  • No he does not. Giving him that will break him in ways you can't even imagine.

  • It didn't break HD Remix when they gave him his fireball-breaker jab Headbutt. (Though, to be fair, that was a short-distance attack unlike his EX here--so you raise a fair point.)

    But Honda definitely needs more ways to get through projectiles, like aforementioned jab-butt.

  • hulazero1 is right in the sense that currently it's not that difficult to close in projectile throwers if you know what you are doing. Hint: nj.FP is godly at getting you inside mid-range, and from inside mid-range you have a ton of options to punish projectiles.

    Awesome Ultras by Akimo. The 1st one seemed a bit psychic, but the 2nd one was perfect strategy. Daigo always fireballed after blocking a fp.headbutt to balance out the chip damage so he took advantage of that.

  • Nah, Honda's biggest problem is getting around fireballs and Daigo was playing to his weaknesses. The Honda player had awesome reaction time to get those ultra punishes though.

  • Yeah but I would be more impressed if he used them in moderation and relied more on parries.

    He does what basically most Ryus do, just with perfect timing. Hes' basically the CPU of all humans, everything is timed perfectly.

    That's about all.

    We all know Shoryu has insane priority, baiting people into supers/ultras, the basic links (which Daigo rarely do).

    #1 problem with what he does. When he mistimes, as he doesn't link much, he whiffs. Lost him round 2.
