omg is that zach pags's house? lols... i wonder if he like knows! he told me he like gets 8 ft of water when it floods!! only the lincoln (school on the south side, but that's what they call the entire south side) gets flooded, i live on the lenox side... i'm still close to the lake (really close) but higher up, sooooo no flooding for me!
YES!!!!!!!!! I LIVE HERE!!!!! I am lucky though, I don't live on the Lincoln side (flood zone)... OMG, I think a few of those houses are my friends'!!!
Well, the Army Corps of Engineers little experiment (...er, screw-up) with the dam at the corner of hamurg Turnpike and 202 didn't help the situation either.
That was heart breaking. I was born/raised in PL and lived there for 25 years. Its been 12 years since I've left but seeing this makes me so sad that my home town was so devastated. I've never missed PL before, but seeing this disaster made me very sad for home.
oh my god i left a few years ago almost 4 now and i had no idea that it flooded this bad. i mean yeah pompton floods easily but in all my years i have never seen it this bad even though my years are short
I can barely remember this happening...Then again, I was in 4th grade

I can't believe the entire time they were building that dam (the army corps) that no one on that side of town thought to think:
"Gee, if they open a big gate and let a wall of water come rushing down stream, that could be bad for us over here."
Stupidity in this town never ceases to amaze me.

An excellent montage of pictures that show the horrible affects of flooding on the unfortunate residents of Pompton Lakes. My heart goes out to them.
