Every %1 who don't send back the census costs the government $85 million to collect their answers. Since it's in the Constitution, the government has no choice or wiggleroom, they have to collect it. So if a Superbowl ad results in more than a %4 increase in response (pretty realistic, given high Superbowl viewership), then it's responsible spending.

Unsurprisingly, Beck doesn't mention that part.

@CabeBiken10 OK here's a fact for you. The Census is written into the Constitution and has been taken every ten years without interruption since the late 1700's. The wasteful spending is created when people shirk their obligation to answer the Census through the mail, thereby requiring door-to-door census taking and extensive ad campaigns. It is people's unwillingness to obey the law that makes the Census such a pricey proposition.
