  • man.. thats a sweet rifle! i wish i had one like that. the only question i have is why does your camo have a glare? you did a great job with the break up pattern. i treid to do a digital pattern on my svage .22 and it looks like a jigsaw puzzle. your is more simple lookin and still looks better.

  • @MrThepipelayer1 The Camo is molded into the stock by McMillan. It's about a 1/8 deep into the topcoat so that if the stock gets dented or scratched the color won't be affected.

The paint on the scope is epoxy spray grit used for concrete steps.

The glare is from the smooth finish of the stock, not the paint itself.

BTW, I had to redo the scope about 4 times before I got it to match the stock... Practice makes perfect.

  • do you void the mcmillan warranty for cutting their stock ?

  • @scktz Yes.

  • I wish i could get stuff like this in canada :(

    JEALOUS

  • more like an m24 if you ask me.

  • @SwaggerUSMCSniper It combines features from both rifles.

  • @Whitehorze its just the buttstock really

  • what is twist exactly mean? can some one tell how does it effect bullet path and etc, your answer will help alot thanks

  • @Australianhunter Because .308 bullets can range in weight from 110 grains to 220 grains, I needed to match the twist rate of the barrel to the range of bullet weight I intended to use ( 190 gr ). The american military normally uses 168 gr match bullets in it's sniper loads so they select rifles barrels with a 1-12 or 1-11 twist.

If the bullet is over spun by a fast twist barrel it can come apart, if it isn't spun enough by a slow twist barrel, it won't be accurate due to tumbling.

  • shouldt you get rid of the shiny muzzle

  • Nice rifle but it has nothing to do with an M40 so your video name is pointless.

  • This chambered for magnum rounds or the normal 7.62?

  • @Alexper12 It's SAMMI standard 308 chamber.

  • sounds like wings of redemption

  • Very nice .308 I painted my coyote rifle alot like your pattern. Are you a predater hunter?

  • guns are cool

  • @MartinApayauq1997. the m40a1 is a Pachmayr recoil pad on a McMillan fiberglass and epoxy stock. a Winchester model 70 trigger guard mated with a Remington model 700 receiver and an Atkinson heavy free floating barrel. and that description is straight from gunnery sergeant Jack Coughlin, USMC scout/sniper.

  • @MartinApayauq1997 Your correct. The receiver used for the USMC M-40 and the Army M-24 are both Remington Model 700 short actions. My choice of the Winchester was due to 2 considerations: 1) I prefer not to have my case necks dented in by the springloaded ejector in the Remington. 2) I prefer Stainless steel for rust resistance.

  • @Whitehorze the M-24 uses a long action

  • @brokenbstring Early versions of the M-24 were intended to use both 308 and 300win mag. The second generation spec dropped the requirement for the 300 win mag so they used 308 length actions only. All the rifles in my unit armory were 308 actions and none of them had the magazine spacers that the early rifles had. The current spec might have changed due to the longer ranges found in the middle east.

  • @Whitehorze why does Remington Military website say they all use long actions?

  • Was the buttstock easy to install? and how well has it held up, is there any play?

  • @reignmack The buttstock was pretty easy to install. You just have to know where the hole for the extention tube is goin to go. Wrap 2 layers of duct tape around the stock and grind on a belt grinder.

  • you are an idiot... That scope is a Leupold Mark 4 M3 fixed 10x scope with mil-dot scope. Leupold never had a scope like that in 6x duplex.

  • @brigadeleather Genius, The model (Mk4-M3) and magnification (6X) are engraved into the scope body. I've used Mildot reticles both in the Army and on my other rifles so I know full well what a Mildot reticle looks like.

So instead of making a fool of yourself, try posting something like this: Are you sure it's 6x? I've never heard of that model before...

Also, try posting some videos of your own. It adds to your credibility when you post on a topic.

  • @joeblo86 If you want to do an easy camo paint job on your rifle, this is what I did. Go to the pet store and get some plastic plants for an aquarium. Get the thin spaced out kind so that the paint can spray through them. Next get 3 different colors of EPOXY spray paint and a bottle of rubbing alcohol from the store.

Use the rubbing alcohol to degrease your rifle, take the darkest color and paint the area you want, then lay down the plastic plants in a pattern and spray the lighter colors.
