  • The indigenous people in most of the Americas do not appreciate being called "Indians", as neither they nor their ancestors ancestors came from India.

    There are seven recognized tribes of indigenous people in Panamá. They are the Nôbe-Buglé, Teribe, Kuna, Embera-Wounaan, Guaymi, Talamanca, and the Bokata.

    I only casually know the Kunas, here in Panama City and modern day Inka (Quechua?) in Perú. The Kuna especially seem to be such gentle sweet people. But I am supposed to visit an Embera village soon.
