An actual STARGATE/PORTAL-THING was captured on film. The footage can be found within the short-film entitled "SUDDEN PORTHOLE", which is currently parked at the PROJECT CAMELOT YouTube page (it's under the George Noory video).
I'm not selling anything...I'm just trying to spread the word about the unseen-dimensions we find ourselves embedded in.
My BLOG contains the peripheral data regarding the movie and is where I reply to the "debunkers" (use search words "Sam Zurick" & "BLOG"). THANKS!!
season 1: slightly unintresting. season 2-5: holy mother of god it si good! Crusade: leave me in peace plz.. should never have been produced. Lost tales: Good try, but doesn't get the feeling.
@Niytiy Eh I'm a Trekkie and I am a fan of B5. Both are great shows and franchises. It's stupid that some people make this stupid argument about one being better than the other.
@evil713 Quantum Space, discovered by the IA using Vorlon technology. Twice as fast as Hyperspace, twice as disorienting and opening a gate into QS is rougher than opening one into Hyperspace.
@bROLLY35 The Thirdspace jumpgate required a second gate in Thirdspace, both had to be active in order to open the door. This is a higher level of Hyperspace that requires only 1 gate or a Quantum Jump Drive.
Also, it's a bloody cool effect! Love the new jumpgate sequence.
@WROrchestra but this one clearly is thirdspace for sure. i think they mention it in this movie. they for sure took some knowledge from the movie thirdspace and years later here they are with the new gate full operational
@bROLLY35 At some point between "Crusade" and this movie, they got access to the Vorlon Homeworld (which was protected by advanced defence systems, mentioned after the end of the Centauri War - Season 5)
They state that they gained the technology from the Vorlon Homeworld. Thirdspace requires a gate and is filled with those rather unpleasant creatures who would gladly eliminate everything. This is a new tech, like going from Warp Drive to Transwarp Drive in Trek.
According to B5 tech website they were going to make a big budget film in England, does anyone know what the story was? It is a shame that so many of the cast died, if they did do a big budget film, (considering the fact that JMS said that B5 was his baby, JMS has had recent success in Hollywood and that he will only ever do a big budget B5 production ever again), do you think that it is possible that we will see more from the best science fiction, if not the best program ever?
@bigabs18281 Particularly when you compare it to Jerry Seinfeld, who got $5 million an episode (which cost nowhere near as much as babylon 5 was to make for each episode).
The one and only thing I liked about TLT was the updated visuals. It would be interesting to see how some of the major scenes of the original show (Battle of Gorash, the numerous battle scenes around B5, etc) would look.
@Fbueller129 YES, they used to have a plan to re-do all the original episodes with better FX..... That's not going to happen but it would be awesome to see maybe 15 episodes redone with a huge budget, like LucasArts ILM quality. Z'HaDum, Severed Dreams, Fall of Night, Endgame, Into the Fire , all the important story arc episodes
@d3p3ch3mod3 Would be a dream come through for them to rip out the CGI in the original version of the series, render it with todays technology and put it back and then release the entire series in HD format on bluray. The story still works, but the CGI has not aged well sadly...
Interesting observation is that the reporter who is talking to Sheridan hasn't any idea what a Quantum drive is, yet Lochley isn't surprised by it when they arrive at B5?
And don't tell me anything about top secret projects they could have been working on, or that news probably hadn't reached civilians yet - I'm tired of the same boring conspiracy theories
I remember buying the First season DVD this past week, and telling a friend who had never seen it before to "think of it as an old game with poorly outdated graphics, but the gameplay and story make you completely ignore it"
I think it would be awesome if they totally redid all the special effect scenes of the B5 series with this quality, would be quite something, in line with the Video game analogy, it would be as if you had suddenly realized you were playing it on the lowest possible graphic settings for almost two decades, then kicked it up to maximum.
I like all B5 jump points for different reasons. The original, because its unusual appearance. I didn't see any "vortex" in sci-fi looking like that. Crusade, because it is newer, better than the original, but not differ from it that much. Lotr, because even if it looks good that there is an entry and an exit jumppoint, it does not make much sense that why would they be different-colored. Lotr does not have this problem. TLT looks the best, but looks like a wormhole.
i must say, i absolutely despised that movie. I hated the look of the ship they had...and I hated the way their weapons system worked. It just didn't suit the B5 universe at all, in my opinion. But still - B5 was and still is one of, if not my favourite sci-fi series. Great story lines, great scripts and great action. It all tied together and just worked so well! If only crusade had worked out, perhaps we'd still be getting more from the B5 universe today :(
#1: call to arms/crusade FX, #2: lost tales FX, #3: original FX, #4: LotR FX...
Don't get me wrong, if I had to choose between a new series having th LotR FX or the original ones i'd choose the former but you know what i'm saying right?
god i totally agree... even my friend who hates almost all science fiction & special FX and is just into working on cars cars and comedy central saw the crusade jumpgate when we were high one time (was back in high school) and was like "that thing looked really cool"
I thought they were actually worse than the Bajoran wormhole. but hey, I just saw the lost tales. It was okay, not bad. not what it takes to jumpstart a new series but a neat little addition that is way better than most of the other b5 TV films.
Ah the ol' "should I like the new jumpgate effect because of how freakin awesome it looks, or hate it because it differs from the classic one" debate.

Does anyone know what JMS's big comicon announcement was? Can you imagine seeing this scene in full HD on an IMAX screen?

NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT IS THIS!?!?!?!?!?!?!
the crappy graphics is what gave B5 it's charm, the entire series cost $90,000,000.
considering that Deep Space Nine was given about $100,000,000 for the first series alone

@mattmanganon The graphics Babylon 5 had was state of the art at the time it was made, in the mid 90s.
