What you really have to look forward to is as time goes by while you work in corrections, you slowly become seperated from society, you find that the only people that can stand you is your fellow officers and thats because they have to.Then comes the first divorce and your kids just going through the motions when they see you. Hey,but at least you get a paycheck!
ms parker please understand..I RETIRED FROM CORRECTIONS...I STARTED IN 1982. I WORKED IN THE HELL HOLES, i know what it is to work in obcc CPSU, i worked in dorms where we had 80 inmates to 2 officers, state inmates who assaulted staff, inmates who urinated and threw feces on you, been in riots, and had administration who catered to the inmates and wanted to take your JOB!
@hapkido4 ya everything you just said i did my personal favorite was snacting the handcuffs and im my times i destroyed a lot of them.sure i allpaid the price 4 it but it was
I wish you new guys all the best but look forward to being written up, verbally abused, mentally abused by staff, feces and urine thrown on you, severe headaches, overtime when you dont want it, tons of stress, suspended without pay, inmates not listening to you and a big paycheck.
I would like for these same recruits to be interviewed eight (8) months after their full duty status. I can almost guarantee they will not be the same person. I wish them all well this is not by far a easy job but rewarding if done the right way.
