As for economies, china will slow down to 5% around 2015, and India will kick it to 11% after the global economy goes up again. In the end (2050) both China and India will have about the same size economies.

what separatist movements? most were killed off in the 90s the only surviving one I can think of is the Maoists, and they want to change India not destroy it. I know much of the gestapo, Hitler's thugs. If you spoke against the state, someone could report you, if you were reported 4-5 men would knock on your door and take you in the middle of the night. I have met holocaust survivors who were tortured by the cousin organization of the gestapo, the SS.

I didn't refute the fact that India is democratic. I just said that the democracy leads to inefficiency. This is true in all countries. China has plenty of corruption (corruption meaning officials abusing power), just less than India.
If you think China would grow faster if it was a democracy then you have no idea how China's economy and politics are interconnected.
I'm moving from USA to China this august. I hesitate to even travel to India until it is under control.
