Today is sunday and as I was surfing the YT domains, I found by luck this precious musical jewel long forgotten. I am 42 and my eyes are covered by the thin mist of joy, how powerful little thing music is. This song elevates me beyond the realm of dreams.
this lineup will be touring in 2012 for the first time since 79... they have a handful of east coast dates already. look to wetton's fan site for more info
The band was vastly superior to ASIA....and I miss them...I was amazed when I saw them open 3 times for Jethro Tull in '79 and blew Tull off the stage all 3 nights...no wonder Ian Anderson stole Eddie Jobson for his next record!
I just listened to the debut album by U.K.; although they're not usually associated with art/prog rock, it's sometimes hard NOT to entertain this association when listening to some of the tracks... After all, they are a BRITISH band - most great groups are British.
@tjttzcspplt To the best of my knowkedge it was only pressed in Japan in CD format. There IS a copy of U.K. live Night after Night CD up for auction on eBay that ends in 3 days that I know of however. You might even be able to order it through a local record shop, not sure.
With not knowing the artists, the lyrics (other than a word or two), after 20+ years of searching, I finally get to hear this song again.
The first time I heard it was on a complication tape of bands a friend thought I would like. Event happen, time passes and the title of the song was forgotten, but not the emotions it stirred.
Thank you for putting it up. Hearing this has put a long search to rest...
Genial,la musica, letra, interpretacion,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,exelente,y es verdad que sacaron el original era recontrabueno,y eso que fue grabado en blanco y negro, grandes musicos!!!!!!!!
I have always loved this song. But, what are the lyrics about? English is not my native language and at first I thought it was a love song, but when I paid close attention to it I realised that it refers to a “he”, to some kind of rendezvous with another man… a long lost friend maybe? or could the man be a symbol for something else, maybe death? Does anybody know the story of the song?
Does anyone know where the sheet music can be downloaded? I can pick the whole thing out, but it would take forever.
Also, I need to post one I have that needs to be identified, a fusion-jazz number. Anyone have a link where I can go to figure out how to do audio only with, say, only a picture as the video part? Thanks in advance.
@neworbits I know this might sound silly to you but why not just contact Eddie Jobson himself. He's supposed to be a great fellow and he does clinics and such. It shouldn't be terribly difficult to find him. I'll bet he'd be glad to let you have a copy of the sheet music for this piece or any other one of his that you like.
Saw U.K. as the warm up band to Jethro Tull in Lincoln, Nebraska, USA, in 1979. I remember driving home and debating about whether U.K. or Jethro Tull was better. It was a great concert, nonetheless. Good memories.
@safetheory There is something clearly different between the first and second albums, and the departures of Bill Bruford and Allan Holdsworth account for about 95% of it. I like both albums, but I missed both musicians on the second.
Reminds me in a taxi in London, 5 o'clock driving down Whitehall, towards the Thames, to Waterloo....

Un excelente album, en especial Rendevous tiene "algo" que me cautivo... este y Danger Money se han convertido en mis favoritos.
