my dear freakyhead. i love your boogie here on youtube. i have a little wish to christmas... ;-) can you play the Holler Stomp from P. Johnson for me ? ähh.. sorry.. for us ! ;-)
I learned it just by ear I had pianolessons but most of the songs I learned by ear..I think also because I had a classic start before I changed to the boogie woogie to have this touch , anyway merry christmas and boogie on !!
it is hard to play the left hand that fast and you need skills for that course it dont need strength but a soft hand but just that is so dificullt course it got to be so fast Respekt
Eeco, are you hitting the C on the bottom twice? Or is it a shuffled C,E,G, A-G in the bass line. Wish we had a chat room for us to talk boogie piano with you. We want to learn more ourselves, as we know your are playing great & have absorbed the 'masters' styles so well. Can you describe this bass line?
Wow! Twice on the C, eh? What a left hand you've developed! Would you be kind enough to share some of your piano playing history? How long you've been playing, what styles studied in the beginning and overall? How long it took to get to those left hand speeds. How you are able to pick up Albert & Pete's riffs & licks so quickly? Do you plan a 'live chat' forum at some point? More overhead camera work?
Ok....THANK YOU! So if I keep working the left hand, the right will eventually follow on its own?
Why should I listen to Albert, and Pete? I got freaky, MrBigC, theboogie man. We got the greats right here on youtube :) I do listen to the others though too. Thanks freaky!
Call me Eeco :)..well it's always good to listen to the great masters. To bad there aren't so many boogie woogie books. I found some in the store in my town..but those are just crapy books :P lol
Hi Eeco i see you are still surprising us with some great music, please keep it coming, its amazing how we can pick up and learn from from these clips
Seriously though....move over Al, Pete, Dr J, Pro L. Work it out freaky! I love the way you play. I play, but not this style...Im still working on it, but play gospel, pop, rock. Whats one good piece of advice you could offer for those of us learning to play boogie? :)
Thanx!, well one of my advice is, that if you are gonna learn boogie woogie for the first time, you have to learn the left hand first. Cause the left hand "left hand is like god" is so important. It keeps the rythm and the swing going and flowing. So keep that in mind. I've listened to a lot of cd's of Albert A and Pete J. that's important too, just listen a lot of their songs, and you'll pick up things very fast if you are gonna improvise. Have fun!! :)
Hi Eeco, I would pay for sheet music and cd on your fast & slow boogie. I know you learned by ear by listening to PeteJ, etc., but for the hearing-challenged could you sell sheet music in the form of lessons. I would gladly pay for your boogie lessons.
