  • This was reallt sad :(

  • boring!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • im new to this clay animation thingy so i just wanna ask, wut software do u use to create the movie from the still pictures? thanks.

  • @smoceskreen Well I use iStopmotion is a Mac only programme. Dragon Stopmotion / Stopmotion Pro is also good stopmotion software to use.

  • I find this strangely disturbing.

  • =;( why did it have to be so sad

  • @AntiBookReader that is the meaning

  • awsome animation is he suppose to be in an asylum?

  • So cool!

  • ..............soooooo creepy

  • Not bad, I'm an animator myself studying in the UK.

I think it is well edited, the light flickers a bit but it's not too distracting.

    Congrats on wining!

  • Very good directing!!

    Congrats :)

  • Quite absorbing ... i really wanted to see him get out of the box at the end. Thanks for creating that!

  • im afraid of that guy

  • FYI in the anotation at the end you spelled prequel and sequel wrong

  • this is awesome! Very smooth animation! Good job.

  • that guy is so creepy!

  • the best 2:35 of my life that was awesome, did the guy ever get out of the white room

  • Wow, this is awsome.. Such a simple idea but it really works :]

What camera and/or program do you use? I think I want to get back into animating.

  • your user name should be THE GODS OF....CLAY!!!

  • wow that amazing

  • good job! :-) i love this song too.

  • wow that is amazing !!!!!

  • It's true that the song is just kind of annoying but the animation is so well done that it doesn't even matter!

  • Excellent setting!

  • This video is very beautiful and it's good music...

  • I loved it....I thought that was just awsome..

  • How do you make your guys? :/

  • really sad

  • for some reason i just didnt like it much. It was too slow for me. I like your other videos though.

Your videos are better than mine though.

  • really good

  • Awsome animation. I liked how you made his tie move when he hit the wall. It showed that it was not just a flat object on his shirt.

  • Very well done and thought-provoking. Congratulations.

  • very emotional

  • qiet scary

  • plz tell me what you made the set out of

  • It was sad for him, But you did a great animation =)

  • @TheClayLord hey sup, i just wanna say that i made an animation with this name, srry i didnt realize that already exist some video with this name and also idk how but the music is the same.Okay i admit you give me a base

  • whats the song!

its so smooth nd cool,no wonder u got an award

  • dats class. depressing tho... :)

  • That was so sad... can you make one where he gets out im almost crying right now :( PLEASE!!!

  • that was pretty much amazing max

  • Woah!

  • What type of armature did you use for your figure?

  • damit this is serious shit!

    whit a real storry@!

  • wow... that is awsome how did you start studying or doing... stop motion??!!

  • omg.. so many pictures... it looks sooo amazing! like hes actually REAL! omg. GREAT JOB!

  • thats awesome

  • wow!!!! thats cool! how many pictures did that take

  • approximately 3,034 frames lol

  • holy cow!!! tats a lot! i think the most ive used was mabey 700 some

  • 3034?? how? it looks like 200 or something? did you just keep taking pics of the smae thing? cuz you can just lengthen the pic.

  • Each picture you take has a slightly different grain formation, so when you simply lengthen the picture it looks unnatural.

But yeah this film in particular isn't a good example of using a lot of frames due to its content but my other longer films have a lot more movement in them.

  • wow very nice. I really liked it, and you managed to keep a slow pace, which is difficult. In my animations to fix the legs and falling over thing, I use puppets that have like a snails base instead of legs. It's not the best, but it's quick to animate, please check them out.

  • Wow, thanks claylord. Very informative.

  • awesome make a sequal

  • thank you grape. This helps very much.

  • every film i watch it freezes

    lol

  • ha ha frank, very funny...

(pixie dust... why didn't I think of that! I'll have to try it out sometime!)

  • Very nice, claylord. I was wondering,

how do you make the clay figures "stand up"? Mine are fat and fall over all the time and the man in this one is really lanky.

Do you use a stick/toothpick to prop it up? I've heard that's how some do it.

Thank you for taking the time to read this, claylord.

    -recorderdude

  • how do you make them stand up? Magical Pixiedust. :-)

  • you build an armerature, its pretty much like a skeleton for your character, just get thick wire, preferably 1/8 aluminum armature wire

    Propoxy (plumbers putty)

    5/32 aluminum round tubing

    24 gauge steel wire

10-24 hex nuts for foot tie downs

  • (sorry for late reply)

There are various techniques, to start with you should use an armature like grape said, however this doesnt solve everything, it can still fall over easily if you arent tying it down.

In this film I use camera angles to make it easier for me, you never see the characters full figure standing up, its either his head coming up into the shot, his feet being placed on the ground etc.

  • that was awesome

  • Is there some specific type of plasticine you use for your animation? Or do you use the most typical you can buy in every normal art-store,shop or wherever. I am just wondering, because when I am modelling its always breaking-up, crumbling and I would be really glad if there was some type, which would be more flexible...or do you have some ideas how to make plasticine more flexible?

  • I use Newplast plasticine which is unfortunately only available in the UK. There are other brands which are more international but I havent tried them. Plasticine shouldn't crumble, maybe you are using a type of clay.

  • This was good! Come watch my claymations if you want

  • thats amazing for AS work!

  • imagine being in that situation?

    it would be unbearable.

  • nice job!! what is the song called? it fits the video perfectly!

  • nice what did you get for it ???

and how do you make them soo long mine are only like 12-20 seconds long =] thanks you can watch them on my profile thanks =]

  • Nice stuff there bro..have u made this video with stopmotion or just regular video??

  • Ur awesome!!! I tried claymation and I failed really badly! XDD Im aiming for computer animation one day and hope to heck i'll be good at it! This video only makes me want to achieve my goal even more! THANKS!!!

    Congrats on the Craft Award!!!

  • Keep trying, no-one is particularly good at claymation when starting out : )

  • My Body is a Cage by Arcade Fire : )

  • BRAVO BRAVO ! :) :)

    Highly expressionistic, very impressed.

You keep up the good work friend.

  • amazing!

  • Great work.

  • ewwustink, have you ever tried to animate clay? The figures keep on falling down and it's frustratng as h___. So before you dis this guy's animation, just try it.

  • i love it and the music is hypnotic

  • Poor guy i would kill myself

  • me too! XD

  • let him out of there lol nice animation

  • very good

  • SCARY SHIT

  • wow ... get back in school , you try making clay animation , thousands of pictures , for just this.

  • i am sickened by your spelling of the word offence. i've never seen such BAD spelling.

i also think you're seriously out voted by the fans of this film...

  • that was bad ass nice job man, i want to learn how to do that so bad

  • Great! love it.. so pure and classy.

  • great job on the tie and cloths, great animating!

  • i would kill myself if i was trapped :)

  • yuu should tottally apply for a partner thingo on youtube

  • I would, but most of my animations have copywrite bound music in them so I cant :(

  • network!! many ppls on here are good musicans with no copyright, you'd be able to fidn someone to lend their music to this I'm sure!

saying that, the music was very good for this piece :)

  • Well Im currently in contact with a band called "Electric Furs" and they have asked me to make theyr music vid so that should be a step in the right direction :)

  • ooh that sounds good :)

  • Very nice animation I'm going to sub check out my chanell

  • thats was totally cool!! i cant believe how great that was!! i love all your clay animations!!

  • So he never gets out?

  • that was great! The tie waving in the wind effect was awesomely done!!

  • thats really epic thanks for that. its really powerful and conveys so much emotion, you really have tallent

  • Wow this was very impressive! great job!

  • Man if i was trapped in a room like that and couldn't get out... I would go crazy. I would miss my family. (not including my monster sister.) And i would be so sad.

  • XD!!!

  • thank you,,,i´ll checkit,,thank you

  • reminds me of this movie when this people is trapped in a 4 dimensional square it ends with a girl escaping then the military shoots her so she can't tell any1 how she got out

  • suprisingly the film is called cube, the one you're on about is cube zero the prequel

  • dude i saw that its so weird tis called hypercube 2

  • Wow. Just watched it again. Forgot how powerful it is.

  • awesome.

i would definately not have the patience to stop, and morph all of these things.

    great job! :D

  • sorry dude, nothing personal, just a bit boring for me, but I agree you were talented to make it. Happy now? lol

  • not bad, but I cant help wondering what the point was.

  • entertainment?... were you entertained? : )

  • :'(

  • im very glad you didnt make a sequel for everyone who wants one, it would completely ruin it.

  • nice vid

  • great camera angles good animating!! kl!

  • this and the black canvas video are the best

  • Wow that was so amazing.

    Like really creative.

    Don't ever make a sequel,

it would take away everything its supposed to be.

  • hey. this is so depresing that even my sister(the one 13 years old) Is crying her head off.And guess what she is the most gothic person i know.(well at least that i know of). why dont you add a sequel to it where a door knob appears? Please it is making me SAD!

  • : ) lots of people have been asking for a sequel where he escapes but I reckon it would take away some of the impact in the original, sorry.

  • That was deep. great job!

  • i`m trying to make a video, but the my camera, a sony minidv handy cam, doesn´t appears in the devices, i put the wire in the camera and in my mac in the usb port, but doesn´t appears please help me.

  • hmm, try the source menu then devices. If theres no luck restart everything, also see if iMovie recognises you have the camera attatched. If you have no luck then try the help menu.

  • See if you have a Firewire port in the camera. On Sony cameras that will be called 'i-link'. The technical name is IEEE-1394. It will be a small socket on the camera and the larger one (rectangular with one rounded end) in the Mac.

I don't think USB connections are supported with iStopMotion, or most other serious video apps either.

  • sad

  • this is awesome favorited i love the tie lol

  • This is one awesome video.

Well done with a perfect song to go with it.

    Fiver from us.

  • The biggest problem with cameras is getting one that can be locked into full manual mode. Otherwise it'll keep messing around with the exposure, focus and white balance when you move things, put your hands in front and take them away again, or do pretty much anything really - very frustrating!

  • wht kind of camera do u use, and nice job!! :)

  • A panasonic mini DV camcorder : )

  • wow, but there sooo expensive, like £200 and somthing, im just gonna stick with my £68.97 sony s650 digital camera lol

  • thats said... how does he get out lol

  • really awesome! very well made, the music is very dramatic. what do you use to make the model? plasticine? and also do you use a wire frame? Love it ! :D

  • I do use armatures, this one was an experimental one made using a couple of lengths of electric wire twisted up, it worked ok but wasnt as stable as i would like it to be.

  • that's thight lol like it bout time u made a new one lol

  • nice job!
