Thing is, every person demonstrating the product is pretty much ripped, so it looks like a piece of cake for them. Also, since they are filming this probably multiple times, they won't be putting much effort at all into the device: just enough to get the correct resonance. Yeah, resonance may sound like an odd word for it, but there is really an exact amount of force that has to be applied to the blade for it to be usable. Under that, it is impossible to control.
It looks dumb. It feels dumb for the first two seconds of using it. After about ten seconds of using it right, you can totally see how ingenious the idea is. It looks so very flimsy and wobbly in any video, but the actual feel of changing the blade's inertia (or direction, or something...) twice or so every second is quite unlike what can be portrayed on YouTube.
BBs serve a purpose, working the smaller, deep muscles. Larger, stronger superficial muscles are for movement, deep muscles essentially for postural integrity. Weights strengthen the superficial muscles. Deep muscles "turn off" against heavy loads, leaving the work for the more appropriate larger muscles. This can lead to pulls & tears, such as rotator-cuff injuries. A bit of BB work before lifting can actually increase the weights you're able to use safely.
I injured my bicep, and my physical therapist had me use a body blade as part of my therapy. I was shocked at how great it works. With just a little motion on my part, the weights force me to keep it going in rhythm. Of all the exercises I've done at therapy, this one had the most impact and with the shortest time working at it. It fatigues the muscle, and you get instant feedback on how well it is working. I ordered my own today. It might look funny, but it really works.
I'd have to say many people are uninformed. I've never heard of this infomercial, which unfortunately, after appearing in one, diminishes a product's credibility. I've been using Body Blades for a couple of years now, both Classic and Pro models, and I have to say they are really great. No one becomes an Adonis by using them, that's BS, but if you understood anatomy, physiology, and proprioception, you would appreciate them. They are, however, an acquired taste, and take-getting-used-to.
Try it genius. I've used the Body Blade for about 5 years. Earlier when I was less in shape I increased my push up count after 6 months (of not doing push ups) and only using the Body Blade. Most of us don't do exercise in front of a mirror...jumping jacks and squat thrusts are stupid looking, but they work.

It is not a dumb piece of exercise equipment; it is a great therapy tool.

I saw this on shopnbc, not qvc, and they made it look good. Wonder if you can shed ab fat with it or just some girl tone-up.
