  • this music was composed after the composer had heard his wife had given birth to there first child still born....enough said....

  • A quote from the film and it's so true

" the first casualty of war is innocence "

Let's learn from the past and forget who is to blame, this is OUR time, let's go forth and make everyday magnificent

    Peace out \0/

  • @RubensMSFBomfim yep. and you should go agnus dei for the full throttle - try this link:

[ no such link] copy paste this to the search: Accentus Samuel Barber Agnus Dei

  • Samuel Barber - Adagio for Strings

  • war is horrible , and so are acts against basic human rights that often begin wars. we all must decide for ourselves what is the lesser evil.

  • fasteddie718 should have been a politician if you werent so scared of face to face contact go and read youre comics

  • @ellenerin im afraid of face to face contact? if your mean what i think you mean, take note, im elisting in the Army in a year as 11x infantry after i get my degree. what are you doing with your life?

  • My cousin committed suicide recently a two time volunteer for vietnam. Never used or drank

  • I played this endlessly when my son died

  • I once agreed with you,I am a soldier and I love my country, and I will defend it to my last breath, but I've grown to see that these wars like Korea, Vietnam, and Iraq have unintended consequences. The very people the we are trying to help see us as invaders, we end up creating more enemies than friends. It's time we learned that we should set the example by minding our own business and showing the world what a free country looks like, make them envy us, not hate us.

  • to all of those who are saying that war is pointless are you telling me that it was pointless for the revolutionary war? That gave you the freedom to get on here and bitch about wars all those men who died so you could protest? In some cases war is necessary yea it is awful but the USA will pay any price bear any burden meet any hardship support any friend oppose any foe in order to assure the survival and the success of Liberty, and thats exactly what we were doing helping a friend for freedom

  • :'(

  • The valuable resources we fought for were human lives. Regardless of what certain conspiracy advocates want the mass populace to believe.

World War's 1&2 were race wars. Korea the same thing. I realize the jury is stillout on Vietnam. But, the bottom line about it is the fact that the government of South Vietnam asked for our help. So, we went!

I am proud to be a veteran of the Gulf War! We had people who thought they were reliving the 60"s protesting us too. Shame on them!

  • Beautiful! - Nothing more to say!

  • Played this as a preshow to our marching band band show last year! Super fun

  • For those who have fought for it, Freedom has a flavor the protected will never know..Khe Sanh, Repulic of South Vietnam. as was written on a c-ration box found there.

  • EVERYBODY GREAT FILM BASED ON EVENTS OF A GUY THAT WAS THERE! but cmon at the end of the day ITS A FILM

  • @MudaFudaProductions No it doesn't.

  • Guys, let's just put our differences aside. One of the best things about humanity is how different we all are from each other, but that doesn't mean we have to hate the other person for it. If everyone were like you, you wouldn't be special. Take that for what it is, and enjoy this masterpiece of music.

  • My grandparents didn't fight in any war and yet they knew what was to go through the Spanish Civil War, which killed or exiled the 10% of the population. I think that repulsion (because that's the only really human feeling towards war) can be felt towards war without the need of fighting in one. One does not need to fight in a war to know what war is: evil.

  • @WaffenSSelite44

Is that wut yer daddy said?

  • @Samindabox I'm guessing your trying to insult him. But its so pathetic that i don't know if your joking or that comment was serious

  • @isaacBrockofthe41

    are you his daddy?

  • @isaacBrockofthe41

    Oh shit!

Yet another generic teenager on his war/politics face ><

Please, for the love of god, spare me from your copy paste beliefs of the world!

I´m so deeply sorry (honest) for ever crossing your path!

  • @Samindabox The funny thing is, is that us copy and paste teenagers have to inherit a fucking mess. I like your Sarcasm, but you seem to hate Waffen comment. If you know anything from history, there are hundreds of quotes like that. So he probably did not hear it from is "daddy"

  • @isaacBrockofthe41

    touché

  • hé, U.S., can we come over with 5000000 troops, fully equipped to test our warfare-tech in your background? No, right?! STOP war-industry, start by givin'every 1 single human clean, non-polluted water. thnx in name of all this can be helpfull to, grtz, a person that doesn't like the way life's honesty is shared

  • This reminds me of Tiesto's Adagio for Strings!! XD <3 when I was watching the movie it was all I could think about haha

  • In case anyone was wonering, the full length version of this song is called Adagio for Strings :)

  • this movie is double winning!!!!

  • lets not argue about war with people you dont know on a silly video, just enjoy the music :)

  • @heyman657 , yep, no need to, but still...

    end it

  • Greatest war movie song ever made.

  • @Zatracenec it was made in 1938

  • @MrIlovegamez Well its even better then. :-)

  • THIS IS THE WORST WWII MOVIE EVER DOES A HORRIBLE JOB OF PORTRAYING THE JAPANESE AND THE GERMANS

  • @blondyboy88 its not about wwll its about the vietnam war :P

  • @blondyboy88 it was a nam movie and i think nazis in world war 2 dont deserve much respect.

  • @frendo123 nam?

  • @blondyboy88 It's not even about WWII.

  • @blondyboy88 this movie is about vietnam

  • @blondyboy88 are you that dumb?

  • @blondyboy88 I'm assuming that was very crafty sarcasm.

  • @blondyboy88 Dont think this movie really has anything to do with the germans. ¬¬

  • One of the greatest war films of all time. It showed that both sides committed atrocities, it wasn't American propaganda. the acting was great and the music did a lot to help

  • dos aney body know wher i can get this song to downlode

  • A lot of people dont understand that the U.S actually did win the war. We forced the north into a treaty actually and then left but they dishonorably broke the peace treaty AFTER we left, like the cowards they are, and Nixon promised to return if they had done that and bomb them but he resigned over watergate and Ford didnt want to commit in fear of losing his popularity among the hippies. So in other words we didnt lose, we actually won but the peace treaty was broken and we just abandoned...

  • ...the south and never came back to help them like we're suppose for political reasons and because the hippies wanted peace. They also preach freedom as well right? For themselves. As I said in my previous comments, I guess they only wish for freedom and peace among themselves not other people. How selfish and fatuous if you ask me. It's our job as the most powerful country in the world to help weaker nations gain the freedom that they deserve and want. It's a human right.

  • @TheTrueUSPatriot The United States has not won anything since the second world war

  • @AlexanderSixtyFour Korea. True it ended in stalemate. But in my opinion the definition of victory is accomplishing your primary goal The goal of the America and the U.N was to keep south korea a democratic Country. They won the gulf war. I disagree with you. I don't like Americans who brag about there military might. Buts facts are facts. But US is not fucking Roma

  • @TheTrueUSPatriot you live in a lie. united states just wants to dominate those countries that have valuable resources and they want war for financial benefit. you are a lamb

  • @Forvolet What valuable resources did we want in Vietnam? Rice and bamboo? What valuable resources in Iraq? We surely didn't lower our oil prices if that was the case. What about WW1 and WW2 and Korea? You are an idiot and I accept the fact that there are always going to be idiots like you, but the fact that 4 people actually thumbed your comment up is actually more depressing.

  • @nunab18 all wars where USA has been involved since ww1 have been business. biggest amounts of money anywhere are in the war industry. and those guys won´t get their share without a war. usa provoked japan to go to war with them by placing an embargo to halt their trade and imprisoned japanese citizens. result was pearl harbor. and finally they wanted a chance to test their new toys in nagasaki and hiroshima. and got it. even though the emperor of japan had allready decided to surrender

  • @Forvolet are you being serious? all wars the US has been involved with since ww1 have been business? oh wow... you probably doubt the holocaust happened. well regardless of your opinions, the US placed an embargo on Japan because they would not halt their imperialistic expansion in asia. ever heard of unit 731? look it up. thats the thing they did to the chinese and others. in europe, idk if you realize but 6 million people were being killed by nazis, who were also invading every other country

  • @FastEddie718 after they made a killing selling the germans oil additives without which the luftwaffe wouldve been fucked! besides anyone outside america knows america is owned by the federal bank which loves a war!!

  • @nunab18 It was about oil in Iraq. Lowering oil prices wouldn't be the agenda of the oil companies (both US and UK) who run all the oil fields in Iraq. It would be raising them to maximize their profits. Why do you think that all the oil companies are and are still making record profits?

  • @Forvolet I disagree. The US does NOT want to rule the world. They have neither the man power nor the proper military mindset. You want to rule the world? Have a military as mighty as Hitlers, a population as vast as China's and a people as loving as God himself, then all you need is a powerful and wise leader.

  • dumb asses

  • you are all dumasses

  • @dronoc1 Thanks.

  • this song is sad... But in a good way

  • What's the name of this song?

  • Bungie get the fuck off this video we are doing it for a good reason and Obama wants to stop us cuz he's a pussy he thinks talking it out is gonna stop the issues and that's how we killed Osama binladen and gadsfis son but whateverrrrr

  • @WaffenSSelite44 War....its mostly a pointless crusade, nobody wins,in fact the victor is usually the one who ends up scarred for life, knowing the things they've done, the things they have seen, its not good nor is it right in anyway at all.

  • @scrohommy So you're saying WW2 and stopping the concentration camps and the slaughtering of millions of innocent people was pointless? You're saying we're scarred cause we saved lives?

  • Afghanistan is a fed up place

  • Perfect song..

  • Wasn't this theme song used in "American Dad" Where the son acts like Rambo in First Blood.

I am 99.9% Sure that this song was used in American Dad... Any one else know aswell?

  • @Noobkilla99786 haha ya dude im watching it right now its used in that

  • One of the saddest songs I have heard in my life ='( It makes me think of all the sacrifices Those soldiers made SALUTE!

  • such a sad song

  • PEOPLE DIE. PEOPLE HELP. PEOPLE LIVE. AND PEOPLE SACRIFICE.

  • Waffensselite has probably never even been in a war

  • War does not determine who is right...... only who is left

  • I have fought 2 shit wars so I do know what it is like but will be honest America should never have been there in the 1st place its just America butting there noses in where their not wanted

  • @bung1e No offense, seeing as how you served our country, but with all do respect, when USA left, not because they loss but because the protests and the american people demanding we leave, the North ended up slaughtering about a million people and you're telling me that's not our business, that we're putting our nose in where we're not wanted? We're definately wanted the sad thing is if we stayed, we would of won, we might of had 48,000 casualties, but the north had about 1 mill in casualties.

  • @bung1e A lot of people think we lost because we left though, which is funny cause we only left cause our people demanded it, not because we're losing, infact we're winning, we did not lose not one battle.. We might of had 48,000 casualties but as I said in the last comment the North Vietnemese had about 1 million.

  • @bung1e And as for the assholes who thought the war was pointless and demanded us to leave vietnam, they felt stupid after finding out that the north vietnamese or the communists, slaughtered almost a million innocent lives. A majority of them were hippies too, the hippies claim to be people of peace and prosperity, but I guess the selfish assholes only meant for themselves not for other human beings over seas right?

  • this song is amazing.

  • Just personally, watching scenes like in this movie where they basically kill civilians in the village makes me hate Americans so badly from the Vietnam war. Of course not just Americans in general, there are others but I said that because of what was in the movie. Even today there have been people in the middle east. It's sad how soldiers abuse their power when they are suppose to be helping war torn nations not destroying them more.

  • @SovietNinjah It's not that they are abusing their power or they're ethnicity, soldiers from every country have committed war crimes, and thats because they have so much hate built up inside them and resentment for them, that enemy soldiers are categorised in the same section as civilians and the hate widens to a broader category - The entire culture. Also it doesn't help when the enemy hides among the civilian populace and some cases are the civilians.I may be wrong, just my belief though.

  • History is written by the victorious, yet the Americans have written it.

  • @NowaiiArka Strangely, it does not appear to be in their favour either, this war atleast.

  • @NowaiiArka well they might have lost on the battlefield, but keep in mind that they remained on top of the world, what that saying refers to is to countries, groups ect..that were defeated and subsequently destroyed or overshadowed by the stronger force....

  • @NowaiiArka

    ...wha

  • @NowaiiArka yeah, the victorious americans have written it

  • @mrrsmurf except in the case of 1812...

  • @isaacBrockofthe41 ya ok there are some exceptions

  • our history is shaped by war so we wouldn't be where we are today with all our powerful sates such as the usa n my country the uk although we're hitting hard times but history is written by the victors so they say, war will always exsist as long as we do its a part of human nature

  • A lot of people I know, saw this film and then carried on with their lives, laughing and joking. This film changed everything for me, the way I think about things, the way I live. I'm 16 and I'm not even from the USA, but there is not a day that goes by where I don't spare a thought for ANYONE who has ever experienced the horrors of war.

  • Perfect theme song- so sad, tense, and tragic. A friend of mines father served 2 tours in Vietnam. She said that the only time she ever saw him cry was when he went to the theater to see this film.

  • War its horrible, but nescessary;since there are 2 people in the planet, someone wants someone dead

  • great movie, nice theme, good remix from tiesto

  • Comment removed

  • people say 'this war was pointless' 'why was it fought?' 'it was a stupid mistake' and protest against soldiers...well, let me tell you one thing, Im 16....and its not the soldiers fault they are sent to these places to get literally slaughtered, and those people really dont know what war is like unless they were there...and saw the things the soldiers saw....no one will ever understand unless they were the soldiers out there. and I attmit...I dont understand...

  • @wolflover552

Where in the following: 'this war was pointless' 'why was it fought?' 'it was a stupid mistake' does it imply 'its the soldiers fault'??? People were protesting a futile war effort, nothing else; and they didnt get slaughtered btw. The farmers whos villages were used as bases by the Viet Minh did, well they were burned alive anyhow. The only reason they are called Viet Cong is because the CIA believed it sounded more menacing and communistic. Viet Minh is the real term.

  • This war didnt prove anything. However I respect the people who put their lives up for this savage war.....

  • @Shoopdawhoop5 war doesnt ever prove anything and its stupid to fight but still poor men with families have to die for it for no reasons but there will always be war and poor people will always have to die for no reason and so we should respect them

  • every time i here this song i get teary eyed.... i don't know how you possibly couldn't get teary eyed listening to this song

  • "War is Hell"- those are some of the most true words ever spoken by anyone

  • can someone tell me why the vietnam war started ? it didn't start like the WW2 against the japanese , i know that

  • @knubbo its because being the worlds bull dog America thought that north Vietnam oppressing south Vietnam was wrong (which it was) but we felt we needed to act as always and just raised the fatality #s did nothing because we were fighting on there backyard as some person said, i don't know who " do not fight a war in Asia... you will loose" at least i think that's how it goes ... but as you can see our wars do nothing but take more lives.....

  • @knubbo the french were tkaing sugar from vietnam and the northern part got angry and rebelled and then they tried to take over the south part and america came in to try to help

  • amazing song. end of am afraid.

  • i feel sorry for those who had to fight this shit.

  • Scum!

  • Luv this song!

  • Peace from tolerance, war from intolerance. If you can't listen to a dramatic piece of music without turning it into a battle field, what chance does man kind have? This is not the movie Platoon, the music wasn't inspired by events in Vietnam, the music was simply borrowed. Enjoy the music for what it is, music.

  • What is sad is that Vietnam didn't teach anything to politics, look the war in Afghanistan, it is useless just a big waste of lives.

  • Most wars have good points or just causes, not vietnam

  • Bellissima canzone.

  • Well, if we think about it, it was about time that we lost a war.

  • beautifull song it fits the movie

  • there will never be peace. some nation must rise and conquer all. then there will be peace.

  • @Blaze24swamp yeah but there won't be complete peace as people will rebel

  • @SH0CK3R1000

if you control the entire world, small rebellions will no be a problem

  • Maybe if you'd really seen this stuff in person you wouldnt be being so stupid about it here. War is not fun or adventurous. God Damn yanks wanna wave the flag at every war movie or song. God if you listened to the yanks crap they won every war in history. Never mind the rest of the worlds millions of soldiers who fought and died.

  • hay i dont do that shit

  • not all YANKS say that we won every war in history and certainly not all GOD DAMN YANKS as you put it wanna wave the flag at every war movie

you see the vietnam war is a great example of this as it was the most unpopular war in US history and the US is very unproud of the war, we are proud of the soldiers who fought and died, but for the cause of death, there was none

im not ignorant enough to say that we should have world peace because that will never be, but there should be discretion in war

  • its just horrible what they did to some of the viatnams personaly i like war movies but this one just got me thinkin tht shitttttt tha fuck the americans thinkinn

  • This movie got to me...

  • Why cant you guys just listen to the song and enjoy it not argue about war or whos better or whos right cant we all just get along? It's not about who is right or wrong it is why we like something and give opnions mabye you like something that someone else doesn't like well so be it why should you care just because you make an opnion on something doesn't make it right no matter how much you can prove it it is to not be right or wrong just fair and nice come on guys just get along. WHY CANT YOU?

  • i agree with you JayZar12, let's just listen the music and the meaning of this song..... we are all humans in the same world, we don't have to make it worse than it is....

  • dude its our nature to make shit worse

  • unfortunately my friend.....

  • @bloodystephen920 war and fucking shit up is not human nature, greed, and selflessness that lead to war, and global crisis's have made it our nature and it will keep make shit worse till the end.

  • @JayZar12 tl;dr

  • @JayZar12because they are cowards i mean sitting saying 'yeah we win those assholes we fought are cowards' but its wrong we didnt win anything the soilders who fought won the war won and the men fighting us wernt pussys the fought for their country doesnt mater if thy are good or bad, they were out fighting men just like them but still they were scared so what so were our men that doesnt make the cowards because they fear death come on those assholes arguing wouldnt fight if they were asked

  • @lewi5676 deja vu

  • @JayZar12 plus we didnt really win anything

  • @JayZar12 righton dude

  • Platoon was first and best vietnam warmovie ever, others are great to but i think platoon is best.

  • i watched this movie for the first time when i was stoned and it was fucking epic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This is still one of the sadest movies I've ever seen in my life. I personally think it's about the death of idealism and learning that right and wrong don't mean much when the bullets start flying. Watch Sheen's character change from idealist to jadded realist, the war didn't change, the rules didn't change. He did. Oliver Stone's best movie in my opinion.

  • it shows u how many dont understand the brutal ism of war. That one character who always wanted to shot everybody, ends up realising how serious taking a life is. One of the lines in the movie got to me, i dont know the exact wording but its a lesson for all americans. One said, "you thought war was all about 'kicking ass'(which is what americans seem to think war is about), but seeing it firsthand tells you wat its really about"sumtin along those lines

  • Great score... SImple and effective

  • i disagree with you. this movie was about how a war affects one's personality and that war isn't about parades and bands and a quick battle.

this movie shows that war doesn't end when peace treaties are signed. war for a soldier isn't about politics, it's about survival, especially this one.

i don't feel glorified about war when i watch this movie.

  • are you retarded

  • @theyellowjesters I watched this movie and I agree with you. War has its glories and its disgracing moments, not just "Yea, we fucking kicked some ass out there!". And that affects the soldiers personality and soul. Basically, it leaves you scarred

  • some people just don't get that either :(

if you really liked this movie, watch "the thin red line". it's really good, realistic and sad...

  • @theyellowjesters Is that about Russia during it's Communist age or the Berlin Wall or something like that? Either way I'm gonna watch it.

  • enemy at the gates you might be thinking of, , and the pianist is well worth a watch, dont be put off by the title. i recommended the pianist to a friend, and he said he's not going to watch a bloke play the piano for two hours. i nearly slapped the thick twat.

  • @niknakpower Epic Film :)

  • @KillZoneCinema

Pfft, only glory found in a war is the ending, unless republicans decides to ruin that too. Pretty much all soldiers say that war is terrible, and it's naive to try and romantisize it.

  • @KillZoneCinema But The Sad Thing Was That We Lost :(

  • @KillZoneCinema If you only knew

  • This movie change my live. A couple days after I see this I jointed to the Army back in my country.

  • What a breathtaking movie...I heard they are making a remake of this....what a shitty remake it shall be....

  • i saw this movie as a kid and still to this day it is a sad movie

  • vietnamese were brutal sons of bitches too

  • most of the americans dont even know that us australians were in that war savin their arses

  • this is one of my favorite movies

  • ha the stupid americans got ownd

  • oh fuck you

  • oblivionmonkey

  • Thats messed up, when you talk about people losing their lives like that. I don't think you should speak about stuff like that, its just wrong.

  • Fuck You We had to leave becasuse CHINA WAS WITH THE NVA AND HAD A BIGGER ARMY i would like to see you go into this and come home normal. You ether came home in a body bag or go crazy after seeing all the blood and death.

  • This shows what bastards the american soldiers were in that war... and as a result they got fucked up fucked up fucked up

  • At first we go to war for our country

In the end we might for eachother...

  • This movie was very Emtionell, " I have always hate war!, and hope the New Generations can learn what ours parents did, and we can change it to better world, and every one live in world of Peace!!!...

  • This movie shows what really happened down there.
