Healthcare reform does not necessarily mean it has to be a government run, socialized enterprise scheme that the federal government provides. How liberals have managed to define healthcare reform as a single payer system run by the federal government is beyond me. In Pakistan, I served along side their special forces and regular military 10-14 hrs a day for several months and had MANY political conversations. One discussion was Bin Laden and 9/11. I don't know what to make of "Globalization" but I know that our free market economy is by far the best. It is true that a large part of the manufacturing base has moved to foreign countries, the reason isn't so clear. Is it because we have the highest corporate tax rate in the WORLD or is it competition with cheap foreignlabor. Bottom line: co.' s pay more when incentives to hide income are reduced.

@rickbar123 The one thing that is consistent when dealing with these kinds of subjects is that the solutions are never "that simple" and govt bureaucrats never have the answer because they were probably caused the problem. I'd like to know comprehensively what incentives (tax and other)exist to relocate manufacturing to other countries. I'm not convinced it is solely labor costs, though big labor unions definitely played a part of some kind. Corporations as a whole are not the enemy of America.

YT "Linfen China". Many of these countrys have little to no regulation on pollution. Linfen is a PERFECT example of this. The labor laws are a major joke in China as well. This adds up. @tbwil11 Germany is Social Democratic. The workers have 3 layes of union type protection at work. The workers are part of the Board of Directors, with the CEO holding the last vote. If a company wants to close up shop in Germany the Gov makes the company pay major bucks to retrain the workers, that can take years. A German company will lose sales in Germany thanks to strong union ties between workers and unions. It's not cheap to leave Germany.

The Gov also makes US companys give up 100% of all technology. It's all or no deal. What US companys try to hide, China will steal anyway. I would like to see a lot more oversight on trade with China, India, etc and fewer entitlements that rob society of motivation. The govt provides the paper so that we don't have to carry gold coins but govt does not create wealth or goods, it confiscates them at the point of a gun and more importantly govt does NOTHING well OR efficiently. Healthcare reform does not necessarily mean it has to be a government run, socialized enterprise scheme that the federal government provides. How liberals have managed to define healthcare reform as a single payer system run by the federal government is beyond me. I'd like to know comprehensively what incentives (tax and other)exist to relocate manufacturing to other countries. I'm not convinced it is solely labor costs, though big labor unions definitely played a part of some kind. Corporations as a whole are not the enemy of America.

@tbwil11 Germany is Social Democratic. The workers have 3 layes of union type protection at work. The workers are part of the Board of Directors, with the CEO holding the last vote. If a company wants to close up shop in Germany the Gov makes the company pay major bucks to retrain the workers, that can take years. A German company will lose sales in Germany thanks to strong union ties between workers and unions. It's not cheap to leave Germany.

The Gov also makes US companys give up 100% of all technology. It's all or no deal. What US companys try to hide, China will steal anyway. @rickbar123 I'm seeing 15 to 25% range on a couple of websites, don't know how subjective that is though. I would like to see a lot more oversight on trade with China, India, etc and fewer entitlements that rob society of motivation. I would prefer to fund the heck out of my 401k and take care of my own retirement than have the IRS take money from me at the point of a gun and offer me "Social Security" on my behalf, thanks a pantload fed.

@tbwil11 A High School kid that works at a Burger King less than 10 hrs a wk makes more than a worker in China that works 10-12 hr days, 6-7 days a wk for a month. Corporations are the enemy. They want a open market, for imports. Trust me, I have over 10,000 pages on trade on the table and thousands on trade related issues. The corporations want the American people striped of their wealth and under IMF control. We are close.

We are shoehorning 4 or 5 different topics into the same SMALL paragraph and it is difficult to cover all of them adequately. @tbwil11 READ THE BOOK. She goes into great detail about how and why the Heritage foundation was founded, who started it, it's start up from day 1. Her work is fully refed. If you find something that you feel is untrue, look it up. When a book is fully refed, it's for a reason. The writer says to the public- "Here it is, please check my work". DO THE WORK. It's your responsibility to read books and get an education.

I am very aware of their position on issues. I don't feel that their position is good for the country. I think it's very good for some Americans. Read the book, then decide. The Workers had an agenda, and the Rich had an agenda. She will tell you about both. Now if you want something thats more original, look into- Selling Free Enterprise by Wolf. I only read the first chapter, it is my next book. It is the history of post WW2 and business in America. A bit dry if you ask me, but a good history.

The govt provides the paper so that we don't have to carry gold coins but govt does not create wealth or goods, it confiscates them at the point of a gun and more importantly govt does NOTHING well OR efficiently. SSI was originally intended to be a supplementary aid to someones retirement funding but look at what this "harmless" entitlement has morphed into.

Reagan dropped it to 28% and individual tax revenues climbed from $244 billion in1980 to $467 billion in 1990.
The rich pay more when incentives to hide income are reduced, thats a fact.
