  • In the game they explain why you can here gun shots and other sounds.

The suits simulate all the sounds. If you turn off your suits power for example you won't here those noises anymore, only the player breathing.

  • gunsounds in space

  • Awesome game! I hope it keeps expanding.

  • cool game to fool your friend by walking on the ceiling and do it like spiderman but standing or crouching.

  • new guns? i need that game

  • YES Humans ! ! ! Cross the Cosmos to Die ! ! !

  • I hope that the guns push you backwards as you fire

  • @LizzyAston they do when you turn off your suit

  • Railgun

  • So wait once u buy the game it will automatically give you this content. Also does this let u choose which weapon you like?

  • wow this game has changed heaps since it came out

  • I just bought this useless swiz. It's not a game at all. No single player (no game!!), awkward controls, no chance to practice, no noob servers - so you get fragged in 2 seconds, and the Steam DRM 'virus' on your PC. I wish I'd bought a MWF now.

  • THIS GAME IS EPIC

  • I liked it better whent ere was only one weapon

  • The firepower pack took out some of the game's fun : not the smg and shotty (good idea), but the sniper and MG (BAD idea). snipers and MGers have very long range and good accuracy, giving them an certain amount of impunity (worsened when they stay on their team's "spawn-to-battle" path è_é).

  • @systemhalodark Good thing that most of the maps have unlit areas that lets you sneak behind them when running silent, also, the AR seems to be well suited for taking out long range attackers, I've countered sniper fire many times with the AR. What do you think about the addition of the shotgun?

  • There's no sound in space...

  • @larsls the suit simulates audio, you can turn off you suits electronics to drop off the enemies radar, but then your thruster power is greatly reduced and you can only hear your breathing, heartrate, and the sound of your gun kicking against your suit when you fire.

  • @Monkeynuts502 Ok, that sounds pretty cool. Thanks for replying ;-)

  • @larsls if you research the game you will find that all the sound is simulated by the suit you ware. If you turn the HUD systems off (an option in the game) everything becomes silent.

  • What level is that at t=0m50s ?

  • Would you guys really want to play an action packed game where the only thing you will ever hear is your own breathe? I don't think so.

  • Why is there so much noise in this game? The sound needs air to propagate. There is no air in space. Fail, not?

  • @renerib1 The audio is simulated through your suit. Research fail much?

  • @Er0y For what simulate sounds of shotguns inside the suits?? Ok, it's only a game, but this was nonsense again, sorry.

  • for me: BEST FPS EVER! its annoying to play fps like mw2, battlefield, counterstrike, because its all the same. But Shattered Horizon is special, something new...REVOLUTION!!! no sorry, its EVOLUTION!!! Thanks Futuremark for this game, its just...perfekt!

  • @m1OUm1OU I agree with you in a way but with battlefield i disagree im not standing up because i like it but it has the element of destruction so it might be the same map and buildings but its how players destroy them and use vehicles but your other points are %100 true

  • sound in space :D

  • @Belnick6666 Thats because your suit has a sound simulation program when you turn your suit off there is no sound.

  • @Belnick6666 its simulated by ur suit, if u turn ur suit off thers no sound

  • @Belnick6666 thats what the suit brings you! you know im surprised they didnt make a trailer about the suits features

  • ahem, Nosoundinspacelolwut?

  • @Eriktheguy123 its simulated, you can turn of your suit and the sounds go with it.

  • We are EVA. Weapons Free!

  • Good day!

Is this game is going to be online as Counter Strike, or there will be story mode?

  • @Gruups only online

  • Space is a vacuum. So there is no friction. Which is how we simulate zero gravity by matching a perfect rate of motion against the pull of the earth's gravity. And contrary to popular belief it ISN'T ZERO gravity. it's NEAR Zero. That's why satellites fall etc. This also means that anytime you change your rate you could either be plummeting toward earth or climbing away. So does the physics of the game accommodate for the gravitation pull factoring in your rate of motion?

  • "..the cold reality of zero gravity combat in space." Just so we are clear. There is absolutely gravity in space. In case your inferring there isn't any. Now as to say the premise is based on zero gravity combat, I hope you did you homework. It would be a horrible oversight to not acknowledge space has gravity and merely just float from one distant object to the next. Zero gravity is only accomplished through a "freefall" at which your falling to earth at the rate of gravity.

  • Fun game, from what I've played, but not worth the price for a couple of maps and 3 gametypes imo. Feels more like a really well polished mod with a bit of a lack in substance.

  • I want to buy this now

  • I'd love to play this game again but all of a sudden for some faggoty reason I can't see any servers in the list anymore QQ

  • @SlaveExplosion Updated to the latest version?

  • @CookieMonzta1995 Yeah just after I said that I installed the game again and it's all sweet xD

  • they shoot in vacuum, why can i head the gunfire anyway?

  • @omegaprophecy88 Their space suits have a 'simulated sound atmosphere' to mimic audio and provide astronauts with better environmental awareness. If you go into Silent Running mode, the suit shuts off, as do the gunfire sounds.

  • @godsavant that's one amazing suit. imagine all the built in peripherals it must have along with every sound it could possibly need to hear in space. (also pointless if it was something never before heard it couldn't be simulated) Seeing as how there are no vibrations to pickup in a vacuum. That suit would literally have to be able to recognize everything happening around it through VISUAL interpretations. Why the hell even put a human in it? it's walking AI.

  • @norunaround Haha, you're absolutely right; to be honest, I don't buy it either, but I prefer it over being a gung-ho deaf-mute for the sake of realism.

  • @norunaround They appear to simulate only the important sounds, gunfire, thrusters firing. Even when there's active machinery around that should be making vibrations, the game doesn't make sounds of it.

  • @omegaprophecy88 The suit has a 'sound simulator'

  • @omegaprophecy88

    its just a game!

(dragons doesnt exist and in 80% of all the fantasy games you have to fight them)

  • /watch?v=DYabbiqDxbA

    check it out from SH

  • god i miss windows seven for this game and this game only

  • finally, new weapons

  • I hope this revitalizes the online community

  • I love this game.

But I honestly think some of the new weapons weren't needed. The first gun in the game already came with a sniping feature if I remember correctly.

  • I thought sound is not spreading in space.. :)

  • @Masshuu4400 The sound is simulated by the suit. When you die or turn your suit off, everything gets muted. It's a pretty neat effect.

  • got this game for 5 bucks during the holiday sale =D

really fun shooter, and even better now with this add-on. Though is it just me or do the new gun models seem unfinished :/

    check out NeoTokyo too

  • A railgun is pretty much the only gun in the game that should technically work in space. Conventional firearms use gunpowder/propellant which needs the presence of oxygen to combust with.

  • @jalit true and the gun lub would ball up, so you would get about maybe 1 shot

  • @jalit It's possible they keep oxidizer within each round along with propellant. Considering the lack of gravity and atmosphere, they can afford to skimp a little on propellant as well.

  • @Apocal43 Christ almightey, guns DON'T need oxygen to fire, cartridges in the real world are airtight, there are no holes in them to let the air in. Gunpowder already contains the oxidizer built-in.

  • CINCO DE MUTHA F*CKING MAYO!!!!

  • this game sucked...totally overhyped and the graphics werent that good

  • =D so excited about this =D when exactly do u think it will be released? ( i mean what time not what day =D) hopefully this will revive the game =D

  • Ill start playing this game again :)

  • Highly addictive. But needs destructible environments. Also, mic does not seem to work very well. I hear people try to talk and they just get cut off, myself included.

  • The game is way too simplistic, but adding new weapons is definitely a step in the right direction. I don't think anyone could possibly have a problem 'handling' the game, it's more simple than most Wii games. It's not an original concept either, but it does do things you don't see much in games anymore.

That said, continuing support might actually save the game.

  • the only reason I'm not playing this is because I only have windows XP... as soon as I upgrade this is the first game I'm downloading off steam.

  • This game is great. Only downer is the fact that the server list is a dead zone.

  • @TheAlphaFrag Sad, really. Man, imagine if this had some open-ended Singleplayer like STALKER.

  • @TheAlphaFrag what do you mean?

  • @PhilKenSebben110 the game is highly demanding in terms of graphics and general machine performance (Futuremark designed the game as if it were a benchmark app). Hence, not many machines can run it (even in low res !), and not many people can play it. Also, it's not like other fps, the controls take more time to master and 0 G can be frustrating and disorientating (but COOL afterward :D). But hey, it's their 1st game, so let's not be too harsh. nuff said

  • @systemhalodark ahh, i see, well thanks, i got l4d2 instead LOL

  • @systemhalodark GREAT GAME

  • @PhilKenSebben110 No one fucking plays it anymore.

  • @TheAlphaFrag huh, thanks, i was actually gonna buy it this week

  • This is a great game, mainly due to it being so original. Too bad there's not that many people playing it :(.

  • @mele1408 =D ye but with this, and if the guys on valve got the sense to put this game on special sale, hopefully the games gonna get a boost =D, (kinda impressed with futuremark for doing all that work with maps and weaps for no charge, should set an example for other companies) =D

  • @azorian2 Indeed. They had a special sale on New Years Eve, during which I bought it (4,99 Euro!). I remember with the release of the last DLC (think it was called Moonrise? Correct me, if I'm wrong, please), it was put up for free play in the weekend, and was on sale for 50% off.

  • @mele1408 yuppers that sounds correct =D was during the sale connected to moonrise that i bought it =D kinda excited that futuremark actually put some work into this game and just not letting it die =D

  • I say this is one of the most original games I really hope it gets a lot more popular cuz I'm more happy playing this than MW2 for instance

  • this will certainty be interesting!

    awesome work futuremark!

  • wow railgun

  • Um, you guys DO know that sound does not travel through the vacuum of space, right?

  • @Brimshae you are supposed to be able to hear sound due to a sound simulation thinkie from your suit system.

if you go in silent mode where the computers of your suit are deactivated the sound goes off too.

    see?

perfectly reasonable explanation for the sounds in space.

  • @vagyrgr All right, I accept this handwaving. :-D

  • @Brimshae have you played the game? They have sound replicators because doing things and hearing things is easier with sound. You can hit a button and go into low power and all the sound goes away. Play it first noob

  • @leburgan If you'd paid attention, you'd noticed I'd already agreed to Vagyr's comment above, hence the "I accept this handwaving." comment.

And no, no I haven't. I was going to, but if people like YOU, with YOUR attitude are what I can expect, I don't really think I would care to play it, much for the same reason I quit Xbox Live: I dislike annoying, should-be-on-Ritalin children throwing out half-assed insults that, half the time, they don't even understand.

    Now, LURK MOAR.

  • I love this game, but what the hell are people doing with pickaxes in space? I know that they are doing some mining, but come on!

  • @RoboLeader2 It looks more like an icepick, like one would use for climbing. Seems perfectly reasonable to have that if you happened to be tumbling through space by a surface you can't get a grip on.

  • Machinegun, SMG, shotty, railgun, pistol, pickaxe and two grenades. Hmm.

  • Wow, there are 8 days between April 8th until May 5th. Does this mean there are going to be 8 NEW FREAKIN WEAPONS?!

  • @131u357r34k (I meant April 28th) woops

  • @131u357r34k Your math appears valid.

  • it come a bit late but i think that new weapons are not the best.

the whole game needs a new gameplay or a other feeling.

first time i play it was awesome but now. i dont know.

  • Very awesome, although I have low fps even on lowest setting but it's a really cool game.

  • hopefully this will attract more people back to the servers. I got this game a month ago and I'm tired of only playing against top 20 players.

  • Nice a pickaxe for melee!

  • whoa! looks great.. i just hope it's well balanced.

  • dam looks sweet can't wait for it to comeout. All they need now is some new gamemodes for the 3rd dlc pack and an extar map or 2 couldn't hurt :D

  • "why are you on the roof dude?"

"me? no YOU'RE on the roof"

  • @Exestenz So true at 0:56

  • @Exestenz "Fuck both of you guys. You're both on the walls."

  • @GMNives "I'm on a boat!"

  • Lol anybody see that guy get pickaxed in the head. That's kinda awesome.

  • needs more australian servers

  • I SHAT BRIX GOTTA PICK THIS UP

  • God May 5th can't come soon enough.

  • Sweet! Looks like I'm going to have to dust this baby off.

  • beautiful trailer, too soon to tell if the gameplay will be remotely balanced or even good

  • @CommieKid It's pretty balanced, and a hell of a lot of fun.

  • SO MUCH WIN!

  • @MamaLuigi314 I loved descent too - the control weren't quite as good as SH imo and it didn't have the inertial drift SH has. If SH had SP it would be the new Descent in a way.

  • Grenade launcher, shotguns, battle rifles, sniper rifles, pistols, flamethrowers...

    SQUEEEEE

  • Looks cool but I'm afraid if I go back to it now there's gonna be like no other players at my skill level (like only the hardcore players will be the only ones on <.<).

  • cool game... why the fuck does it have to be direct x 10?

  • @darkinferno3 Think about who designed it. Futuremark games studio. What else has Futuremark made? 3DMark- a computer graphics metric. This game was designed to look pretty AND be hell on the processor. It's like Crysis, only in space.

  • Have to say - I was ok with the game being a 1 gun shooter. But the player-base is severely lacking. I hope that this re-ignites the hype and excitement over this amazing game.

    Also, ICE-PICKS!!!1

  • Great game and great company, who have set out to please their loyal custoemrs from day one, unlike the CUNTS at Activision.

  • FINALLY.

  • I really appreciate the devs for making this game better and better.

  • Wow, that's gonna be a huge change to the game. I already felt that it was pretty much perfectly tuned with the assault/sniper rifle.

  • YAY! I am happy at these devs. For the fact of their FIXING the game and adding what they didn't during their launch. Props to them. And it looks EPIC!

  • Nice.

  • Damn, it's so awesome.

  • 26DeislerFCB, how you can call yourself "pro" in any game by playing only 10 minutes:D Hope to play against you after this DLC, i am sure you will eat your panties and turn to SH fan:D

  • @26DeislerFCB the game is awesome, the controls are great and as simple as it's possible to make them. Don't proclaim that the whole game sucks just because you couldn't handle it.

  • @vijil For some people the learning curve is really steep and gamers today don't really have any patience so I can kind of understand where he is coming from.

He probably grew up with games which hold your hand for a long way so he can't fully appreciate SH. :P

  • @sdsti you're probably right. I think it's similar to Homeworld as well - some players just couldn't get their head around the 3D space thing. For me there was practically no learning curve but then again I've always been a space nut so the physics just seemed right.

  • Great trailer as always.

  • This should have been in the game from day one, not after the multiplayer is nearly dead..
