  • Great video! You've reaffirmed what I was already planning to do. I've been wanting to get started shooting IDPA. I decided to focus on defensive shooting tactics first and score second. My score will be a measurement of performance to show how well I am progressing in my abilities as a defensive shooter. Thank you very much!

  • Thank for the positive responses, Guys.

gunnut1012, I don't know exactly what you are looking for in regard to advice... personally, I tell people to shoot their competition with their gear and with good tactics/techniques and not to worry about their score. The much harder question is what to you tell someone who wants to WIN competitions and train for self defense, which I see has much harder to do.

  • Very good rundown! First discussion I have ever seen that didnt turn into a bash session.

  • Very interesting topic. I'm curious as to what you would recommend to a shooter who shoots compitivly and wants to train For self defense

  • Tremendous discussion. So few take the time to think through these kinds of contextual issues. There are things which overlap, and others which don't. I'll be using this video as a conversation starter for sure!

  • Great Video... THANKS!!!
