I don't know a damn thing about beat making, I can admit that fact however even I can hear the similarities between theses two tracks. Hopefully the rightful owner has been credited and compensated. With that said, timbaland is still an amazing producer and song writer there is no doubt about that
1 No one should be hating. 2 the arab versions have less bass and instruments from the timberland version,he only uses snippets of the actual songs,if you listen to the arab songs they become boring because there like 10mins long and the parts timberland uses doesn't even last a minute within the original song so for Timberland to pick up on those sounds and make then continuous and more explosive is talent believe what u like this is 4 songs out of hundreds his made.
I kind of agree with both sides. Producers definitely do this all the time, and we should properly understand the role of producer as being just that. There is a skill to it. However, I agree with the critics in that we should not put this on the same level of skill as composing an original melody, beat, song, or playing an instrument/singing with adeptness.
And I don't know if this makes any difference, but I am a musician myself with 8-ish years of recording/performing/writing experience.
@beastadvertising Timbaland is a stoler, a thief he doesn't have the right to sample without the agreement of the singers, he did it a lot of time in the past
I like Don't know what to tell ya, and I like betwannis bik (I know all the words phoneticallty) for me it's not about the what the original theyre both actually really different, different genres different language, and I feel different when I listen to each one, isn't that whats important?

No american would of ever herd the original, but now since its on the charts in the us, we get the respect that our music is really the real music
@trenxtremer Heres the deal with all this my dude. In New York back in the 90's they had a club in Manhattan that spun Banghra. They called it Bangra-Rock. The DJ there used to spin Bhangra-Indian Style music with Hip-hop, Jamaican Dance Hall and of course Middle Eastern music. It was a real "underground" spot. When it first opened, you never saw celebrities/famous rappers..just word of mouth. It was a club for people who had a CLUE for real music. Somehow, Music Industry people started coming
Once the industry people start coming and catching on 2 things happen 1. The club night dies 2. The club night becomes commercial and it goes mainstrain. Number 2 happened and then by 1998-99 you started hearing middle-eastern beats in hip hop song. Before Bhangra-Rock night at SOB's club Timbaland and others NEVER thought of using Middle Eastern Music..TRUE STORY my dude. So Timbaland is a thief along with all these other rappers not paying the producers. A producer named Bangladesh was paid for his beats given to little Wayne. Theft is rampant in the industry. But thank Bhangra Rock night in Manhattan on Wednesdays back in 1995 for all of this. Remember, everything starts in the underground clubs FIRST not on MTV. Alot of people don't understand that alot of hip-hop is done by sampling. Alot of times the original composer gets compensated. At the end of the day, Timbaland is still a talented producer. Whether you agree or not, you have to admit it. He had the ear to take those old songs and make them into hit records.
I think u idiots should just thank Timbo cuz hes kind enuff to put dat shit in his productions so ppl can listen to it nobody listen to arabic music anyway , go Timbo go!!
@Madlove4life2009 uh i do. and so do other people I know... Why are you so close-minded? If it exists, it's listened to. They just don't listen to it where you are- did that ever cross your mind? Maybe, just maybe, it's cuz you live in an English-speaking country?
First off he's replaying all of these samples. That's different from just grabbing it from a record and putting on a tracks in the business. Next off people don't know what or who was compensated behind the scenes as in publishing. I know of no law that says a person HAS to be credited in linear notes. How many studio musicians have gone uncredited. A lot of the same "Arabs" who are complaining about getting there music stolen rock to the music with 70's loops.
"...Sit there all fat and lazy with your Kmart keyboard while I sing my ass off and play...Mikrasian music and Mohammed Abdel Wahab, music you can only STEAL . A lot of these guys are still alive, fool. You=license plate. With me you aren't even a CONTENDER. You best keep j*rk*ng in the dark where it's safe "composing" another knock-off... ...P.I.G...

And who doesn't do that??C'mon people don't starting hate Tim...A lof of musics that are a hit are stolen...And what Tim does is called sampling...He only took a bit of the songs.Duhhh wake up
Come on... I call this sampling. For those of you who thought Timbaland calls in a full arabic band to records harmonies everytime he produces a beat - think again. Timbaland is a business man. And he has a talent for findings samples and making them hits, and he's got timing and knows the industry. That's all you need to make billions =)
It's called sampling. Do some research and you'll see that just about every hip-hop song uses some form of sampling. Fucking idiot. It's part of the art form of hip-hop, dont like it?- then shut the fuck up
Typical ignorant faggot detected - there's a difference between straight out stealing and sampling. Sampling takes a sample and changes it into something new. It could be rearranging a drum break, playing back an orchestral stab in another key or using a guitar sample to create a riff.
Stealing or plagiarism takes the original, makes no changes to it at all, lays a poorly made FL Studio drum beat on top and calls it an original piece of work.
@MooseHeadMoosic thanks for clearing that up for me faggot... this is clearly chopping a sample. And since its for-profit he gives the original artist credit... get your shit straight. You dont need to explain anything to me.
Timbaland is the best! omg see man he gets his musical sources from shit ppl wouldn't even think of. He puts other intruments on top of it to make it his own.
IDK why people are saying the rappers and song artists are sampling, it's not THEM, it's their "producers" don't blame the artists unless they actually produced the track as well
all rappers and song artists get there samples from Arabic music. its called sampling. they didnt take the whole baet. they took like a 5 sec. sample. wow. big deal. Tim had the best beats and still do. Aaliyah killed the songs. R.I.P BabyGirl.
Omg more arguing over Sampling bullshit. Just accept it for what it is, in order to to sell a sampled beat you are usually supposed to have confirmation from whoever owns the original sample. USUALLY
.......regardless of how he sampled.. or what he sampled ..its sampling.....dude took the time or had some one take the time to dig for the sample...one thing you cant debate is that the ear for the sample was on point...its amazing cuz half the people on here talking nonsense wouldnt know what to do wit the samples on here if the sample slaped em in the face and gave em the drums to lay over them...

sampling is cutting part of music and creating new melody, this shit isnt looking to me like new melody it s just like copy-past put drums and ur king producer cool
@StreetzBeatz seriously man thanks for saying what i been feeling. im tired of all these dick riders saying "its sampling you retardz" who gives a fuck what it is when it sounds basically the same!!
ITS CALLED SAMPLING!!!! DURDURUDURURUDUDURUDUURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRUURURURURRRRR.... DURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR...
@sferemonk It's not that he sampled. It's that everbody thinks he came up with a lot of his work out of his own creativity, barely anybody knows that he samples Arabic music...except people who listen to Arab Music.
Yes, he is taking other peoples creations and calling it his own. Lol and ok, call it sampling if you want. But please, preach to me how that is talent?
@cleats8 sampling is done in the industry, the sounds are not exactly the same the arab beats might have been sampled but he edits them changes the tones and he would of had to start from the beginning in making the beat on some of them because if he took the arab beat he wouldn't be able to take away from it unless it was made frm scratch so for everyone calling him a rip off or a beat copy i would drill him because he makes the music his own style which everyone can identify by sound
@cleats8 It shows his diversity.......how he can turn one cultures music into something that another culture can enjoy, which makes him an even better producer, and in order for the uploader to find this material they must
@cleats8 You need to listen to more music that uses samples and realize it took talent to create. Samplers are instruments just like a guitar or piano. A guitar makes sounds when the strings are strummed, pianos have hammers hitting the strings... samplers make ANY sound. Pioneers of sampling include Herbie Hancock (massive jazz catalog) & Peter Gabriel. Some newer artists you should check out are DJ Shadow, RJD2, and 85% of all hip hop ever made because it's going to contain a sample.
@cleats8 thousands of producers do this, it is what producers do, being a producer doesn't mean you always have to compose everything from scratch. sampling is perfectly fine, and to say it's untalented is ridiculous, people who sample have a unique ear for what sounds good. and have you heard the beats he puts out using these samples? they're fly as fuck
the beats are the the same but the style of music is completely different yea he "stole" music but people are making to big of a deal out of it,i respect the original artist but personally i like the "stolen" version better.
@8BALLfromCALI818 try not to make statements like this, theft is theft,.when you rob somebodies music and you dont credit them and claim it as your own thats theft, and i'm sure the court that convicted him would say the same.
The original statement you said was that I know nothing, and this IS in fact sampling. Which it is not...It is stealing. And to my lack of respect of other's accomplishments? Aren't I recognizing the true talent it took to create these musical pieces? Or should I recognize the talent Timbaland had while ripping off these tracks?
You go back and forth on what you think/say. Look at what you listen to and see why I think it's funny that you say I know nothing about music.
Thanks for posting this vid. It confirmed my suspicion that the TBland had "Stolen" other people's creations before......and adding JAy-z to the mix.....yeah thanks!. I always wondered what was "so great" about them guys, NOW I KNOW, they are good at ripping TRUE artists off!!!!....& getting away with it. : (
omg cant believe this.. I have to say that arabic music was great they used to have the best ears when it comes to music I mean abdel halim hafez didnt just have that one great hit khosara he also had gabar which shows his amazing voice I mean that used to be a soundtrack for like 18 minutes long.. just amazing they used to have amazing tunes!
Arabs used to have the best ears when it comes to music. Too bad they're aren't alot of good arab singers still around. Oh ya, Timbaland, stop stealling our music you fat fraud
Fuckin commercial tips! Didn't you realise that music is priceless to do as we want to do with it? Don't tell everybody Timbaland is stealing music, because all the djs and producers do the same, okay?
@linkelfovampiro are you kidding? DJ's play other people's records. real producers INVENT and CREATE music. Timbaland and those you seem to think like you feel it's fine to STEAL ( = sampling without giving credit) artist's CREATIONS (= THEY are the PRODUCERS) .
Timbaland is just another overhyped sampler who adds beats (are they original or do they originate from UK's drum&bass scene?) to what he stole. see, now you know the difference.
If u put flute in a song there is always at least 1 Arabian song that is identical. I could pull a flute melody out of my ass and I bet there's an Arabian song from the 90's that sounds the same
damn timbo's best beats r sampled lol nothing wrong wid that tho its pure hiphop right there look at the way he flipped it , still he need to stop saying he dont sample n not paying who ever he sampling
i say fuck the arabs. those motherfuckers along with eurpeaons and along with the fucking africans stole a group of people and sold them into slavery. and yall fucking complaing about stealing some fucking music. SO i say fuck the arabs, fuck the africans and fuck the europeans. Timberland, you have the right to steal what the fuck you want. These motherfuckers who are complaining stole our ancestors and sold them into slavery, so fuck'em.
Dude, your ancestors sold you and they keep on doing that, and the problem people refused to speak out and accepted the slavery, difference between you and the Arabs is that Arabs want to speak out and stop oppression and I'd habe suggested for your ''ancestors'' to do the same.
@Kimikimer don't you think i know who sold my ancestors. if you read my comment, i said europeans, arabs, and africans. none of them are my ancestors.
@Kimikimer that's the question, what now? stealing music doesnt begin to compare to stealing lives, freedom. i bet you don't know that arabs still have slaves in africa right now nor do you care?
@sidmar23323 Whoa whoa, you're adding other issues and talking in circles,
No I haven't heard of the African slaves of today who are owned by the Arabs? But I know the ones who are owned by America and Europe and gets 50 cent a day for 8 hours of work in filtering coffee beans.
If you really care about them then do something other than jumping on others and being racists while enjoying your ''THOSE BOOTY SHAKING, BOOTY MEAT'' hypocrite.
Timbaland had no right in stealing music, that is wrong.
@Kimikimer i havent said one thing racist. 50 cent a day is called cheap labor. the people in africa arent getting paid anything. i will enjoy my booty shaking vids lol. timberlnd has ever right in the world to steal music.
@sidmar23323 Hehe... I just have to butt in to say how much I love that your point apparently can be summed up as "Fuck everyone in the world, except Timbaland". Nice, nice.
Ain't nothing wrong with sampling... They do the same thing with movies(Star Trek, Dawn of the Dead, Flash Gorden, etc.) and you don't see people crying about it... Everything gets recycled man... As long as all contributing parties are being compensated there is nothing wrong with it... The songs are very similar, but you got to admit Timberland redid them like a master... And trust me record companies know when their music is being used and they get their money!!!
I love Timbaland, but come on, are you that lazy to make your own beats that you have to steal someone elses? Just proof that people will lie and steal.....for money. SMH
Timbaland is one of the most genuine musician in the world and to bring music from all over the world and mix it into one piece is not an easy job to do. so, leave the guy on his own coz at the end of the day non of us can do what he does.
Creative sampling vs the kind of sampling Diddy used to do are two different things. As long as he got the sampled cleared and the artist he sampled is getting broke off..i don't see any wrong doing.
this is what you call great production skills give the man his props if they where stolen then his ass would've been sued which didn't happen so therefore he brought the rights for the music which isn't much money it's all according to the artist and how popular the music was back then if it wasn't then the piece would not have cost much according to the record sales of that piece he still has to pay the label for the music it's the law so get over it already
guys this is professional producers the samples wasn't stolen but bought otherwise he would had a lot of problems, Dr.Dre Premier... everyone samples! i would also sample it because those are beautiful arabic melodies!!!
Timbaland is a genius :) For exploring and experimenting with Arabic music and putting it to the best use

Come on... I call this sampling. For those of you who thought Timbaland calls in a full arabic band to records harmonies everytime he produces a beat - think again. Timbaland is a business man. And he has a talent for findings samples and making them hits, and he's got timing and knows the industry. That's all you need to make billions =)

TIGERCLAW824 9 months ago
It's called sampling. Do some research and you'll see that just about every hip-hop song uses some form of sampling. Fucking idiot. It's part of the art form of hip-hop, dont like it?- then shut the fuck up
xwjd14 9 months ago 4
@xwjd14
Get dunked, slamdunked.
MooseHeadMoosic 2 weeks ago
@MooseHeadMoosic thanks for clearing that up for me faggot... this is clearly chopping a sample. And since its for-profit he gives the original artist credit... get your shit straight. You dont need to explain anything to me.

IDK why people are saying the rappers and song artists are sampling, it's not THEM, it's their "producers" don't blame the artists unless they actually produced the track as well
Looneveli 9 months ago
all rappers and song artists get there samples from Arabic music. its called sampling. they didnt take the whole baet. they took like a 5 sec. sample. wow. big deal. Tim had the best beats and still do. Aaliyah killed the songs. R.I.P BabyGirl.

Tims has to listen to arabic music on the regular and just chill and kick it to that shit to actually know which records to sample from lol.

sampling has been going on for 30years, or more in different forms. Timbaland suddenly becomes untalented because he has not credited samples!?!
popular music is an exploiter that moves in trends, and the middle eastern sound is one of the trends in popular music that has been exploited.
sferemonk 1 year ago
@sferemonk It's not that he sampled. It's that everbody thinks he came up with a lot of his work out of his own creativity, barely anybody knows that he samples Arabic music...except people who listen to Arab Music.
pashun88 11 months ago
@sferemonk
Yes, he is taking other peoples creations and calling it his own. Lol and ok, call it sampling if you want. But please, preach to me how that is talent?
cleats8 11 months ago 11
@cleats8 Its talent because it takes a 5 second loop and creates a whole different song out of it. It's like a musical collage.
Regset 10 months ago 3
@cleats8 sampling is done in the industry, the sounds are not exactly the same the arab beats might have been sampled but he edits them changes the tones and he would of had to start from the beginning in making the beat on some of them because if he took the arab beat he wouldn't be able to take away from it unless it was made frm scratch so for everyone calling him a rip off or a beat copy i would drill him because he makes the music his own style which everyone can identify by sound
jwings84 9 months ago
@cleats8 It shows his diversity.......how he can turn one cultures music into something that another culture can enjoy, which makes him an even better producer, and in order for the uploader to find this material they must
1. be obsessed
2. be jealous
3. be in need of a life.
3.
mipjunior4 7 months ago
@cleats8 You need to listen to more music that uses samples and realize it took talent to create. Samplers are instruments just like a guitar or piano. A guitar makes sounds when the strings are strummed, pianos have hammers hitting the strings... samplers make ANY sound. Pioneers of sampling include Herbie Hancock (massive jazz catalog) & Peter Gabriel. Some newer artists you should check out are DJ Shadow, RJD2, and 85% of all hip hop ever made because it's going to contain a sample.
UrbanCrunkMovement 4 months ago
@cleats8 thousands of producers do this, it is what producers do, being a producer doesn't mean you always have to compose everything from scratch. sampling is perfectly fine, and to say it's untalented is ridiculous, people who sample have a unique ear for what sounds good. and have you heard the beats he puts out using these samples? they're fly as fuck
ThaRoyalT 2 months ago
@cleats8 make hit song by sampling and making it sound good. its not easy.

Aren't I recognizing the true talent it took to create these musical pieces? Or should I recognize the talent Timbaland had while ripping off these tracks?

@linkelfovampiro are you kidding? DJ's play other people's records. real producers INVENT and CREATE music. Timbaland and those you seem to think like you feel it's fine to STEAL ( = sampling without giving credit) artist's CREATIONS (= THEY are the PRODUCERS) .
Timbaland is just another overhyped sampler who adds beats (are they original or do they originate from UK's drum&bass scene?) to what he stole. see, now you know the difference.
