  • I really loved Kingmaker. Listening to it again they were very, very good. Fantastic that they were beautiful then disappeared without cashing in. Viva Rock and Roll..

  • Hey can anyone give me more info on these guys??? I think theyre f§$king brilliant. Its been a while but when I hear this again they still rock!!

  • definitely a good band but I remember seeing an interview with them back in the day and they made Oasis look modest. I don't think people responeded to their claims of being the best band in the UK.

  • Back together at last Sept 17th at the Bull & Gate in London

  • This is great footage, thanks for posting, sincerely thanks!!!.

  • I saw Kingmaker at the Junction in Cambridge back in 92 ish and Radiohead where the support for them....how times have changed.

  • @rhymon78 I saw Radiohead support James back in the day!

  • @rhymon78 I was there too!! That place had such a low ceiling!! I remember Thom spent the whole night breaking guitar strings! Great gig though - it was loud :)

  • @stugriggs yeah man, awesome gig. Im not a fan of radiohead these days, but remember them being AMAZING that night. so intense. those were the days...

  • I might be wrong here but i remember seeing Kingmaker at the venue in Edinburgh and i swear Radiohead were the support........feel free to ridicule now.....

  • @ballboyer radiohead were the support when i saw them in london too, and i thought that radiohead were poo and wouldnt go anywhere! haha! good job i dont work in the record business eh!?!

  • met them doing lights at brum uni. thought this song was wicked from the first listen.

  • Saw them in 95 just weeks before they called it a day - one of the best gigs i've ever witnessed. Vastly underrated band.......

  • agreed with mjd775! I'm hearing this after nearly 20 years and I almost jumped of my chair just like when I heard the kingmaker for the first time - they sound so good!!

  • ...great band as were so many others in the 90s!! We were fuckin spoilt for choice with good quality bands then, but now? I feel sorry for the kids with total dull boring shit like snow patrol, keane, scouting for girls, coldplay, all total fucking dull meaningless shite!! I went to see oasis last week, not even close to 1 shiver down the spine!! I remember bands that sent goosebumps and shivers down the back of my neck back then!!

  • c'mon you 'ull!

  • Fucking amazing band and you bet your life plagurised by many

I also connected with the christine bit on the album too shame it wasn't longer

Thanks for posting this up dgk long live the kingmaker

  • What a great band they were back then, still sounds great to hear this 17 years on.

Agree with the comment about Christine / Reprise one of my all time favourites too.

Loz Hardy was a real songwriting talent

  • Christine and the little reprise at the end is one of THE all time greatest bits of music EVA.

If its available - please upload it!

'thing is though' it's a public service man - Thanks for that.

Watch out for Bandit BriJon and his tropical frogs - fUKIN HEAVY in London in the mid 90's.

Shame 'spence - mccartney' thought he was the bollox at writing songs. Ride the swan and all that crap LOL. Kingmaker were the dogs bollox at writing songs...

    TOP band from Hull.

  • great to hear the boys again, its been a while

  • o hell with humdrum people! FUCKIN LOVE EM! thee atalians have a word for it but a dont speak a single word of it.

  • yeah!... Amazing to hear this again. "Eat Yourself Whole" evokes a lot of teenage stuff for me. But this still sounds really electrifying... Never understood why this band was so derided - the lyrics were a bit odd, but great i thought

  • Revelation for little miss tunnelvision! fuckin brilliant band! sadly missed

  • "Hard Times," "Freewheeling" and "Lady Shakespeare's Bomb" are probably the best three songs off that album. I have a vid from this period, and that's also quite good. Gonna have to figure out how to upload to You Tube!

  • What's the video?

  • I think it's actually this same Town & Country show.

  • They was a fantastic band.Saw them in 92 at Bristol Uni and they were brilliant.Lady Shakespeares Bomb was my favourite from Eat Yourself Whole!!!

  • Would Really love to see a vid for Freewheeling that was my fave makes my hair stand on end! I felt 16 again when I heard this one tho! Aw wow! thanks for putting this up.

  • Quality band from the early 90s. Seen them several times live, always good!. Eat yourself whole was brilliant!! Love "Hard times"
