@redrobred1 - I think you might be referring to the mandolins. Personally I like this arrangement. There's room in music for so many different interpretations and we don't have to have one at the exclusion of another. I've got three different recordings of this plus the sheet music (I'm a cellist) to play it myself. By the way, the arrangement used in Master and Commander is NOT as per Boccherini's original sheet music - the violin arpeggios are played 'upside down' in the film!
Why the hell did they replace the cello's parts with some shitty spanish/italian guitar? Pitiful.

@redrobred1 all the guitars are spanish , even if they are make by Gibson , Fender or Carvin , none of these instruments are shitty .
