The more obvious fact about the Tea Parties and the news, is that none of the other networks give these demonstrations much coverage at all.Fox covers the Tea Parties more than the other networks. Part of the reason I watch Fox News is to see the Tea Party activity. Some Fox News programs support the Tea Parties and side with teem on the issues, Taxation, Big Government, the economy, capitalism vs socialism. Only place I can find with any news about these issues. Too little from Fox too.

My point was that Murdoch has to claim that his programs are non-partisan. They do that by not officially endorsing any candidates. But it is obvious that CNN and NPR are on the left, and Fox is on the right, even as they maintain their technical non-partisan status.

I listen to BBC on Sirius. I read local newspaper, LA TImes, Washington Times, Wall Street Journal, New York times weekly. Sometimes daily. The bottom line on most all of it is, it is BS. I watch Fox News mainly because I find that some of the programs are showing news that I am interested in, like Glenn Beck for example. You can't find him anywhere else.
I'm 73 now, and fearful for our country. for my gkids.

I'm a pro-choice atheist and against all of the Middle East wars. I'm in favor of marriage equality and against the USA PATRIOT Act.
But I love Fox News because it unabashedly supports the TEA Party mvmt. The TEA Parties are the best grass-roots opposition to the overspending, corp. bailouts and the stupid tax increases that are the biggest threats to the poor.
When Bush was Pres., I loved Olbermann because he did what the media should do: question power. Now that is being done by Fox news.

Right wing = Founding Fathers / Constitution / Limited Government. You can't have a fascist regime with a limited Government. Yes you can, and indeed that seems to be what many corporations want: A government with few or no regulations pertinent to the corporations at all. An example that could be used is what happened with the banking industry. One more could be that corporations are considered persons.

That stuff did happen a long time ago though. I don't think conservatives, in general, are getting flack so much as the Tea Party/anti-HCR crowd. Now there are quite a few people, like those threatening children and breaking windows, that ARE painting an ugly picture because it all seems highly organized.

The truth is, the guy isn't a true conservative himself at all. Murdoch probably personally thinks tea partiers are nut jobs. But he has an empire based on what SELLS. And conservatism sells in America. He is actually a big proponent of the self made man idea, and believes in strong education reform. He supported the Whitlam government here in Australia that for a short time made tertiary education FREE.
